Marcenay is a small, quiet village located in the heart of the Bourgogne region. The village centres around its historic church, and the nearby Lac de Marcenay is a significant feature, offering lovely views and opportunities for gentle strolls along its shores. The main roads through the village are D102 and D104, which connect you to surrounding areas.

Couples looking for a peaceful escape will find Marcenay ideal. The village offers a relaxing base with easy access to the lake for leisurely walks and enjoying the natural surroundings.

The best time to visit Marcenay is during the warmer months, specifically from May to September, when the weather is most pleasant for exploring the region.

During these months, you'll find the vineyards in full leaf, the days are longer, and the temperatures are comfortable for outdoor activities like cycling through the countryside or visiting local markets. July and August offer the warmest weather, great for enjoying al fresco dining and longer evenings.

For those interested in the wine harvest, September is an excellent time to visit. You'll witness the bustling activity in the vineyards and at the local wineries, often with opportunities to see the harvesting process firsthand. The autumn colours in the surrounding countryside are also quite striking during this period.

If you prefer a quieter trip with fewer crowds and slightly cooler temperatures, May and June are ideal.
