"Danu's homestay is the real experience. 5 star service with many smiles. If your looking for an authentic Sri Lankan homestay experience, this is it. Sigiriya is a beautiful little town and Lion Rock is a must do. Get up early to beat the crowds and heat. It opens at 7am. We hired a scooter but Charu the father will drive you if needed. "Location is good. Lots of ants and insects in the room. Host was welcoming. But be aware of food cost. Ask price before ordering. We order seafood dinner for three. He made combination of fish, calamari, tiny crabs and few shrimp and charged 50 dollars(water for drink). We paid as we did not ask before eating. Then he came back and ask 800 rupees for driver’s break fast. We paid. A minute later he came for driver’s accommodation cost. At that point we said, NO. We stayed 2 weeks in Sri Lanka....

"Truly a once in a lifetime experience staying in this hotel. It is built around the rock face overlooking a lake and you really do feel entirely immersed in the nature. We had monkeys on our balcony as well as in the open corridors on the way to breakfast, we even saw a wild elephant on the island opposite from the lobby, it was incredible! There are also three pools to choose from, my favourite was the infinity one overlooking the lake which was the best view I have ever swam with. The location is great too as a base for the cultural triangle. We did lions rock and an elephant safari one day, on which we saw over 200 wild elephants. The next day we also did the Dambulla cave temple so you can do so much around this location. Wish we could have stayed for longer than the two nights we did to enjoy the hotel itself more as well as all the sites to see in the area. The room was comfortable and clean and the staff were always so helpful and welcoming. The food was amazing with so many choices for breakfast and in the buffet restaurant in the evening."

"We are a family of 6 stayed in 2 rooms for 2 nights in Habarana Lodge in July 2026. The property was absolutely fabulous, clean and safe. Staff are extremely helpful, courteous and professional. Our check in was easy, particularly Manike was very helpful. We enjoyed the swiming pool, tree house, butterfly garden, spice garden, clean walkways and lush trees of the property. The most amazing experience was the breakfast and dinner buffet. Chefs Nipun and Buddika are extremely talented, creative professional and attentive. Chefs went out of their way to create sweets and special ice cream selections for our children. Food selection at the buffet was amazing and authentic and delightful. Rooms are clean, spacious and amenities are excellent. We will definitely stay here in our next trip to Sri Lanka."

"My family and I stayed at Rajarata Hotel for two nights, and we had a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The hotel offers comfortable, well-appointed rooms, and the inclusion of a handheld shower is a thoughtful convenience that enhances the stay. The hotel is easy to locate, and the directions provided by Google Maps are accurate, making arrival smooth and hassle-free. The true highlight of the hotel is its exceptional staff. They are warm, courteous, genuinely welcoming, and remarkably attentive, consistently going above and beyond to ensure guests have a pleasant experience. The dining area is spotless, spacious, and thoughtfully designed, creating an inviting atmosphere. There are also plenty of well-maintained common areas where guests can relax and unwind. The food is excellent, particularly if you are looking to experience authentic Sri Lankan cuisine. The generous selection of traditional Sri Lankan dishes is both flavorful and well prepared, making every meal a delight. Overall, Rajarata Hotel provides a comfortable stay, outstanding hospitality, and excellent dining, making it a wonderful choice for families visiting Anuradhapura."

"This is a beautiful peaceful forest resort nestled in a rural forest like area not too far from Sigiriya fort, Dambulla cave temple and Minneriya national park, which were the three attractions we saw in the area. The resort has a great spread of both international and local options breakfast and dinner buffet on weekdays and lunch buffet too on Fridays and Saturdays. A la carte menu is limited but sufficient and we'll prepared. The chefs, hotel staff and management are very sweet people and are very attentive to your needs. The rooms are spacious with large bathrooms. Very comfortable beds. AC wasn't great in one of our rooms but they promptly serviced it and made it better. The open air pools are fantastic and has a nature pond feel to it. Water is not too chlorinated either and is very refreshing to swim. Truly enjoyed this relaxing hideaway in Dambulla for the three nights we stayed there. Would recommend!"

"The staff were amazing, the breakfast was incredible every single morning. The rooms were clean. The location wasn’t walkable in the dark due to the animals around and could take maybe 20 mins to walk into the centre so tuktuk or driver needed but absolutely incredible and well matched to Sigiriya. Thank you for such a wonderful stay."
