About this property
Charming waterfront cottage with fireplace and deep water dock
Welcome to our vintage riverfront cottage located steps from the Siuslaw river and our deep water dock. Located in a forested river valley, we have amazing views and a diverse variety of wildlife. The cottage has been tastefully renovated with shiplap interior walls, updated electrical, plumbing and windows while restoring most of the historical features.
The Space A full size bed await you in the cozy sleeping nook on the main floor plus two twin mattresses in the sleeping loft. The bathroom has an attached walk in closet with plenty of storage. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes and cookware. A full size refrigerator/freezer, stove, combination air fryer/microwave/convection oven, coffee maker, blender, crock pot and toaster are included. Just off the kitchen is a laundry room with more room for storage of your gear.
The ground level deck has fabulous views of the river, dock and mountains. Plenty of space to use our outdoor grill and enjoy river time.
Guest Access The cottage is all yours. Follow the sidewalk behind the garage to your private entrance facing the river. The cottage is located on a parcel along with our main house. You may park up to two cars. One in front of the path to the cottage and the other in the single space directly behind. We do have 220v 50A and 120v outlets available for charging your electric vehicles.
The property We respect your privacy. The main house is on the same lot but there are separate outdoor areas on both sides of the house. We have two small friendly dogs (one of them does like to bark at new people until she gets to know you).
Other Details Swimming and water access are at your own risk. Be aware this is a tidal river and the current can flow in either direction depending if it is an incoming or outgoing tide. Even on a rainy day it’s great to warm up by the fireplace, read a good book (we have many to choose from) or watch the weather.
Neighborhood
Property is wooded with a lot of space between neighbors and the Siuslaw National Forest to the south. There is plenty to do like fishing from the dock or take the canoe or kayaks, or bring your boat and fish the Siuslaw River or all the way to the ocean. Salmon fishing abounds most years on the river. Be sure to check out on line what the restrictions are before you go and get a license. If crabbing is more your style there is a public dock in Florence and one at the south jetty you can drive to.
Getting around The Sweet Creek Falls are just down the road with plenty of hiking and of course the beautiful water falls. The city of Florence is only twenty minutes to the west that has lovely shops and restaurants. There are several places in town you can access the beach along the ocean. Eugene is an hour away, but there’s a quaint covered bridge off of Highway 126 that is well worth stopping by on your way. Ah, but we can’t forget the dune’s. This part of the state is known for it’s sand dunes. There are several places in Florence where you can rent ATVs or take guided tours of the Oregon Dunes National Recreation area.

This cabin was wonderful. It was so clean and the work that the owners had done when they remodeled it was obviously done with love. The view of the river was fun to watch along with all the birds that fly by. I will definitely stay here again!
My husband, myself and your youngest son (14) stayed at the cottage while we were in Oregon for the Big Ten Track Meet in Eugene. Perfect location to attend the track meet, visit the ocean and have a tranquil setting to relax:-) Our son loved finishing off the dock with rods Chad provided! The cabin alone is worth booking to see; impeccably clean, quaint beyond expectation ...Chad balanced the modern comforts we enjoyed with the character and history of the cottage:-)
Thank you Chad for a wonderful visit; the cabin is well decorated, adorable and a great place to relax. Everything needed to cook is there, 6 kayaks to choose from! Relaxing dock and porch is perfect. Florence is a 30 min drive, plan accordingly. We will try hard to visit again.
Perfect blend of historical and modern. WiFi worked well for my needs and Verizon didn’t have service there so it was easy to disconnect and get work done or relax but also easy to reconnect when you decide to. Chad is a great host. Really nice place!! 👍👍
The cottage was perfect. Clean, fresh linens, etc. The view of the river, fishing, kayaking or cooking out was so relaxing. Close to Eugene and next door to Florence on the coast where there are sights and good restaurants galore. Chad and Judi were wonderful hosts. Friendly, knowledgeable, assessable, helpful, but not in your face. Highly recommend.
The cottage was perfect for our group of 3 adults. We stayed here both to run the Eugene Half Marathon and visit some nearby beaches (don't miss Heceta Head Lighthouse!), and this was a great location where we felt like locals. We loved the charm of the place and the area was so peaceful. We also had a lot of fun using the kayaks on the river, not a common perk to find at a Vrbo! Chad was quick to respond to requests - it's nice to get to meet your host in-person, which seems rare in homestays these days - yet we still felt the cottage was very private. Only wish we'd been able to stay more than 2 nights!
I could not be happier about our recent stay! The cottage is immaculate and had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. The 16 year old enjoyed the loft- said he slept like he was at home (as I did in the full bed) The location is ideal: we could feel away from it all on the river, yet it's very close to Florence, the Pacific, beautiful vistas. The hosts are the perfect mix of gracious, kind, attentive but never hovering.
Charming cottage, very well kept. Beds were comfortable to sleep on and plenty of room in the loft, nice size for the whole cottage. My daughter and I enjoyed kayaking but wish we’d set aside more time for that. Terrific location being so close to the waterfalls. We really enjoyed the hike and took so many photos at the various waterfalls! Enjoyed a great fire every night and appreciative the host had wood for us. It will be nice to visit her again. 😊
This snug little cottage was clean, relaxing and comfortable. Chad and Judi were like ninjas, only checking in when we happened to be outside at the same time. The effort and thoughtfulness put into this little gem shows in every interesting nook and cranny of the property.
A short drive to Florence and a great waterfall hike. Just sitting by the river was a whole 32-second expedition. The daily bird and chipmunk show was better than any dang old television program.
We'd return in a heartbeat.
I absolutely fell in love with this darling little cottage in the most peaceful setting on earth! The restoration was thoughtful, immaculate, and period accurate, which is not to say any modern comfort or need was missing. The surrounding nature is the second half of this heavon-on-earth spot - a wealth of birds to watch and listen to, both songbirds and raptors, chipmunks will keep you entertained, and I even watched a river otter play about 20 feet away while I sat down on the dock at sunset. You feel isolated, but a town on the coast is just 15 minutes away for any shopping and such, and of course the host is nearby and extremely responsive, though gave me complete privacy and solitude. If you are screaming "Serenity now!" in your head, book this cottage!! A treasure. Can't wait to come back and have already recommended it to friends.
Book now before this gem is gone. Our family of four stayed at this beautifully renovated cabin and it was absolutely perfect! From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel at home. This cabin was recently completely renovated with meticulous attention to detail that made the cabin both charming and modern. The owners have truly thought of everything to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The kitchen was stocked with all the essentials, making it easy to prepare meals and enjoy meals. The cabin was inviting and comfortable, making the most of its quaint space!
The cabin’s location could not have been better – secluded enough to offer peace and tranquility, yet close enough to local town to grab anything you may need. Also 6 miles down the road is the most incredible hiking trail (Sweet Creek Trail) with LOTS of waterfalls. In the other direction (Florence) was a fun time spent on a giant dunes buggy tour with Sandland Adventures! Back at the cabin, we enjoyed the outdoor spaces as well, with lovely seating areas right outside of our cabin and dock. Our two teen sons loved the fishing from the dock and we all enjoyed kayaking/canoeing down the river!
Chad and Jodi take great pride in their property and go above and beyond to make their guests feel at home. I wish we lived close enough to come back!
Such a nice little cottage and area. Enjoyed the deep water dock, and got some fishing in while we were there. Everything we needed for our trip, plenty of amenities, fridge, stove and kitchen area were nice and has a wood stove and outdoor area with a fire pit. Used the gas grill outside and enjoyed the beautiful view as much as we could while visiting. Saw lots of hummingbirds, and the place has lots of art installed around. Highly recommend a stay here
We had a great time during our stay. We could tell the host put time and effort into making this property a great experience. The view of the lake and mountain side was nice as well.
