"A clean, well maintained, and picturesque hotel in a lovely location. Reception staff and bar staff were helpful and friendly, the restaurant was a little more chaotic with missed food orders, unable to answer questions about food, and dropping used breakfast cutlery in our laps causing us to have to change clothes.
The room was fine, although somewhat basic lacking any standout touches. The iron provided was fairly useless and caused brown stains on my white shirt the morning of attending a wedding, and the fan provided was broken and noisy, which was unfortunate given the room was like an oven. Unfortunately the temperature of the room and the noisy fan meant sleep was fairly disturbed. Whilst the temperature is not within the control of the hotel or staff, an effective way to cool the room to a comfortable level should be considered.
The spa was a nice extra, and facilities were also clean and well maintained. There was no spa staff in sight at the front desk when I arrived or left, which could cause concern in the event of an emergency as guests were not signing in or out.
Overall, a lovely stay marked by a few disappointments."
"I had a lovely stay, I travelled alone and felt very safe. The pool was lovely. Didn’t eat there so can’t comment on the food. Be aware that there is a parking charge of £7 per 24 hours. Not a problem but I don’t recall it being mentioned during the booking process."
"I had an excellent stay and couldn't have been happier with my experience. The room was spotless, comfortable, and very well maintained. The staff were outstanding- friendly, professional, and always available whenever I needed assistance. Their attentive service really made a difference. The breakfast was delightful. I would highly recommend this The Lygon Arms and would happily stay here again!"
"Lovely stay, great rooms and facilities, excellent breakfast and location super close to town centre. Only thing I found strange was no way to charge your phone with a cable, unless you brought your own plug to fit the cable in (so I had to plug it into the back of the television). And the wall radiator in the bathroom was roasting hot so when I got out the shower I got burnt by it. No way to turn it off and we've had a heat wave in the UK"
