Why did I give them my business?

The place smelled like sewer in each floor, the bathroom smell was awful. They provided a thin paper like blanket, I am still wondering why I peeled off the sheets to find human juices like on the mattress. Walls are also paper thin so you can hear everything from the adjacent room. The toilet didn’t have a flushing mechanism. Not even backpacking at “Bob’s Hostel” had such a bad experience. Location is great. I forget, I tried the AC unit, it didn’t work 😳
Mattress
First floor bath
Not flushing is simpler than peeling the cover tank and flush
Bathroom door (for 45 euros a night I guess you can fix that)

I was sleeping in my bed but around 5 am , the man woke me up and said I sleep in his bed , and refused to move as I was right in my bed and his bed was on top bed but he force me to go by lying together in my bed , so I have no choice as he was lying next to me, so I went to asked reception to help but took me almost 1 hours to sort it but that man still resist to move to his bed , so the reception couldn't sort him out and removed me to other room instead, so i did not get to sleep as took me to sorting out new bed til 8 am, it was really bed experience and I fid not feel safe , the room and to ilets was worn out , not recommended

Many beds had no lockable racks/cupboards for keeping bags (essential for all travellers) ... those under-bed baskets that were lockable required a trip to buy a padlock. The bunk lights and socket did not work on most beds. Other guests arrived at 1am and then another group at 2.30am ... didn't really get a night's sleep. And all for €32 ... not cheap at all.

A (possibly mentally ill or likely drunk) man entered the dorm room in the middle of the night and wouldn’t stop talking (either in a language none of the guests seemed to understand, or gibberish) and making loud noises and switching the lights on. Other guests in the dorm room repeatedly asked him to stop talking and be quiet, to no avail. He went on for hours. The guest in the bunk bed below me tried to reason with the man (and presumably went to the front desk to complain) but after all packed her things and left the hostel. I waited and tried to asleep again but was awake for most of the night. I only had to leave at 6:30 but at 5:45 I gave up and left. The room was otherwise loud with street noise and bright because of street lights. I wouldn’t recommend or stay at this hostel again.

Poor staff experience. The check in staff seemed rude and disinterested. Also you have to pay a deposit in cash but it was €7 euros to withdraw cash from the atm close by so I had to leave my passport. This was at no point locked away or stored safely and when I asked for it back I was offered someone else’s. The bathrooms were absolutely disgusting and smelt of urine and at no point in my stay were they cleaned. The light from the corridor was flicking on and off all night which shone straight through the window.
