The best area to stay in Majjate is within the Medina, particularly around the Batha Square and the R'cif neighbourhood.

The Medina is the historic heart of Fès, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its labyrinthine alleys, traditional souks, and stunning architecture. Batha Square, located just outside the Bab Bou Jeloud (the Blue Gate), is a well-known landmark and a good reference point for navigating. The R'cif neighbourhood, further into the Medina, offers a more authentic experience with a mix of residential areas and guest houses.

Couples looking for a romantic and culturally rich experience will find staying within the Medina ideal. You'll be within walking distance of many historic sites like the Al-Attarine Madrasa and the Chouara Tannery, and the evenings offer a chance to enjoy traditional Moroccan dining in beautiful riads. The narrow, car-free streets provide a special environment for leisurely strolls.

For solo travellers, staying near Batha Square offers the convenience of easier access to and from the Medina, as it's a recognised entry point and often where taxis can drop off.

While Majjate offers a pleasant experience year-round, the best time to visit is during the spring (April to May) or autumn (September to October) for the most agreeable weather.

During these months, the weather is comfortably warm and dry, making it ideal for exploring Fès and the surrounding region without the intense heat of summer or the cooler temperatures of winter. This period is great for leisurely strolls through the medina, visiting historical sites, and enjoying outdoor activities.
