Great cabin in Maggie Valley. The cabin was very neat and clean with all of the items you need for the kitchen. The layout of the place is great with bedrooms and bathrooms on opposite ends of the house. The beds were very comfortable. We also liked the fenced-in area for the dog.
It's a great cabin, cozy but roomy, comfortable in every way. Kitchen had everything, beds were very comfortable and it was close to everything. I hope we can return.
Had a relaxing visit to the Maggie Valley area and really enjoyed our stay at Ole Hickory. Clean, well appointed, and great place to relax after a day of sightseeing. It was very quiet and "the girls" enjoyed short walks on the street and a few visits to the fenced in yard. The cabin was just as described.
We loved this cabin!! Clean, near downtown Maggie Valley, and had everything we needed in the kitchen. The bedroom set up was perfect in that each one had access to its own bathroom. Thank you again for sharing your home. We’ll be back.
Darling property with very comfortable and complete accommodations. The gas fireplace is easy to use, looks good, and puts out a lot of heat. My wife thoroughly enjoyed the the large jetted tub. The host was quick to respond to all questions.
The cabin was beautiful and very clean. It is supplied with about everything you need. Kathy was great to work with. She responded quickly to any and all messages sent to her. We look forward to staying here again.
We spent 3 weeks in this lovely mountain cabin surrounded by woods. Definitely a quiet, restful time but very close to Maggie Valley Golf Course and nearby wonderful restaurants. Trout stream within a couple of minutes and water was low so we passed on fishing as conditions would have been too stressful on trout for catch and release. Incredible accommodating host!
This property was a great home base for a week long trout fishing trip. The proximity to Great Smokies Mountain NP, Waynesville, Bryson City, and Asheville is perfect for visiting many different rivers and the mountain towns close by. The property is very clean and well appointed. The owner is very communicative and responsive. Couldn’t have been more satisfied.
This is by far the best VRBO we have used. The host was absolutely amazing! Her communication was second to none. The location was easy to find. The house itself was cleaner than any location we have ever used. The attention to detail for this home was phenomenal! I highly recommend this property for a great stay in Maggie Valley. Go visit Boojum Brewery and The Scotsman Public House in Waynesville, you won't regret it!
Very comfortable cabin w a beautiful view. Driveway is a bit tight for my Tundra. A small car would have no problems.
Kitchen was well stocked. Loved the jetted tub in master bath. Plenty of very hot water to soak. We really enjoyed the gas fireplace in the evenings.
My only recommendation would be a new mattress in the master bedroom.
Cabin is very nice, Furniture and furnishings nice but one more blanket in guest room would help for chilly nights. Two cars is really all there is room for in drive because can't turn around and would not want to back out of that narrow driveway. We all enjoyed cabin but told relatives we would meet them elsewhere so they never saw cabin.
We arrived on Thursday, and our getaway was nothing short of extraordinary. We supported a local grocery store and savored a home-cooked meal, complete with fresh veggies, baked potatoes, and steaks grilled to perfection. On Friday, we marveled at the breathtaking scenery of the Blue Ridge Parkway and surrounding areas, culminating our day with a dazzling fireworks display in Maggie Valley. Saturday brought more sightseeing and a heartwarming lunch with family who call the area home. As the day drew to a close, we unwound on the porch, basking in the serene sounds of nature and the gentle weather. Completed with a hardy game of cards. Sunday, our departure day, was bittersweet, but we chose to make the most of it, indulging in more of the area's sights and sounds, paired with a delightful breakfast. We wholeheartedly recommend this incredible location and cabin, whose hosts are an absolute joy to work with and whose facility is impeccably maintained.J
We had a great time during our holiday staying in this cabin. My kids loved the hills to climb since we don’t have any here in Florida. We were glad to see Maggie valley and Waynesville were ok after the devastating flooding in the region. We had a wonderful time having fires and smores there was fire wood available at the cabin which I loved. Overall we were very happy. I don’t understand the garbage situation that needs to be figured out. I don’t think you as the renter and the amount of money you spend staying in these places should have to worry about the trash and drive out of your way to dispose of it. The dump has set hours and days they are opened. Other than the trash we enjoyed staying in this cabin.
We had a wonderful time staying at this cabin that was very welcoming and felt like home. It was so peaceful and easy to relax. It was equipped with everything we needed while away from our home. in the mountains that truly feels like home. We spent some time on the wraparound porch reading. My husband got particularly good at navigating the driveway.
The location is great – easy access to the Blue Ridge Parkway, downtown Waynesville, Brevard, Cherokee, and the Great Smokey Mtn. National Park. So many things to explore in the area or just relax at the cabin.
Kathy is a very hands-on owner. The day we arrived the cabin had lost power due to a tree falling on the line. She called us to inform us, as well as kept us up to date as to the timeline the power company had for restoring the electricity. Thank you for sharing your home.
The cabin was one of the best properties we have stayed in. Both bedrooms are great but the Master bedroom is awesome. The room is large with a very comfortable bed, an electric fireplace to make it cozy, an door from the bedroom to the wrap around porch and an Amazing Jacuzzi tub large enough for 2. Kitchen /Dining was open so you weren't closed off from family while cooking, etc. Wifi was excellent. We sat on wrap around porch and had our coffee in the mornings and also just relaxing after riding into town to explore. It is located directly off the main street of town but located in a quiet area away from the main street so you feel away from it all but can be in town in 5 minutes. The driveway is paved with a parking are in front and side and is awesome, but it is alittle steep. We had an SUV with a 12 ft trailer connected carrying our motorcycle so it took alittle imagination and some maneuvering to unload the bike and unhook the trailer to turn it around to be able to drive it out on our departure but it was doable. Other than that it was an EXCELLENT stay and I would recommend the property to anyone looking for a quiet beautiful cabin stay. The host Kathy was also excellent, responding quickly to any questions we had but the booking and stay went so well we had no problems or questions during the stay. This is a nice gem of a property to relax and enjoy yourself in.
