This place surpassed my expectations in terms of space, comfort, cleanliness and location. A great value for the price. Highly recommend if you’re only in town for a short stay. The location is in a central area but the hotel is private and quiet. I hope to return soon.
Private Bathroom with rainfall shower. Very clean and modern.

I would definitely come back
Nice, clean and centrally located. The room is nice, a bit small but really functional. The staff is super friendly and the price is below average. I would definitely come back. Free bottled water for the whole stay, thats a difference.

The hostal is very well located and It looks like it's been recently renovated. Very good for the price paid. The service was not as good as we would expect because the person (an Asian lady) that checked us in was not very kind (I would say a little rude), and also one day my daughter left a towel on the floor, expecting it to be changed because it had makeup residues, and when we returned to the hostal, the towel was hanging with the rest of the towels. When she went to the Reception to ask for a clean towel, the same Asian lady told her that even though the towel was on the floor, as it was dry they assumed it was clean and wasn´t replaced. Besides this 2 details, the experience was nice and we would stay there again.

Calm in the Madrid mayhem!
Quiet, spotless, cheerful welcome, free bottles of water and little bottle of wine. Tiny room but efficient air con and clever use of space. Will definitely recommend and return.

Diez Madrid is centrally located and easy to walk to many points of interest. We were hopeful after reading the great reviews and high rating but the room was very tight and the bathroom was very tiny. Very noisy area so you hear street noise well into the night. It might be okay for one night but not comfortable for more than that.

Great location. few steps from Puerte del Sol
Modern Hostel located in a building that have many other hostels. Given a card that gave us entrance to main building, hostel entrance and room. The room was very small, but clean and nice bed. We spend little time at the room, so it did not matter the size of the room, but if a person is going to spend lot of time in the room must consider that is small. There was a very nice gentlemen when we arrived at the hostel and he gave us a map and instructions on how to navigate the city. There are plenty of restaurants, bars and stores around. We enjoy our stay at this place and we like the most how clean it was.

Excellent location and spotlessly clean hostal
The hostal is located at an excellent location. Closed to most tourist attraction in Madrid. Closed to metro and train station and easy access to train and airport. The place is spotlessly clean and there is daily cleaning of the room. Free coffee and water available daily and also a bottle of wine.

we stayedone night on Christmas eve of 2017. suprisedly new and clean. very nice staff. offer free bottle water as much as you need which was out of my expectation but very helpful. one bottle of wine and nuts makes us feel warm. with this price is much more than we expected.

Diez madrid - Excellent stay for couple of nites.
Room was small but well appointed. Excellent location, close to Plaza Mayor, Santa Ana and Puerta del Sol. Bed super comfortable. We had an inside room so was very quiet. Some monor sewer gas smell typical of Spanish plumbing.

Big enough to do the job and small enough to care.
Small rooms, but with everything you need. This place is slap bang in the middle of all the action, yet surprisingly nice and quiet. The problem with getting older and being loaded with responsibilities is that you end up wanting more from your hotel rooms. This isn't a five star room, and there were only two members of staff there (who were great by the way) - but if you are looking for a comfortable and well priced hotel in the middle of Madrid - this is a good place to start. They might be small - but they are more than capable of providing you with an extremely pleasant stay.

Based on the photo, I expected a room with a double bed and a large window. I got a room with two bunk beds, a window overlooking a courtyard you could stretch your arm across, and which stank so badly of air-freshener I felt nauseous falling asleep. The woman at the check in made a point of scolding me for arriving at a late hour, 1am, though I arrived punctually at the time I had said I would arrive. Other than that, she was nice. On the plus side, the whole place is very clean.

Location was very good, near to almost everything. We ended up underutilising our metro pass because we have almost always walked. Street was rather noisy at night, though. Obviously especially before holiday days. Room is not very big. Enough for tourism purposes, though. Room was clean and recently furnished. Bright and cosy. I nevertheless do not recommend this hotel for business stay. There is no work table in the room of any sorts and working with a PC would be very inconvenient. Noise in the night from the street can be overcome during a holiday but can be a disaster with a meeting the following day. Bath small, but not a problem. Problem: the shower is very fancy, but the temperature of the water can swing from scorching hot to cold no matter what you tried to do to counteract this. You lose some time adjusting continuously the mixer or waiting for better moments in a corner. They have changed our towels only once during our stay in the beginning. Very eco-friendly, which I second, but perhaps too little when you are travelling. Up to you to judge. WIFI: very fast and reliable. Staff very nice and helpful.

Great location, great value for the room. Guy who checked us in was very nice and showed us the room. Only took off a star for room comfort because of the annoying air freshener (it smelled everything up and made noise every few minutes) and the LED strip that was very hard to figure out how to turn off.

"Hostals" are a traditional source of rooms in Spain. Typically they take up anywhere from half a floor to 2 floors of an apartment building. This one takes up half a floor in a building that actually contains 7 other hostals. I think this is an excellent example. The rooms are definitely small. So are the bathrooms, the TV-- and the price! It is very clean, has a nice pod espresso machine, efficient A/C, and free wi-fi. The location is great, within walking distance of the Plaza Mayor in one direction and the Prado in the other. The street and nearby streets have several small restaurants, bars and interesting shops. This was very good value!

Great Place to Stay !!
Great little hostal. Great location right in the centre of this fantastic City. Surrounded by bars and lovely tapas restaurants. Clean modern rooms, great friendly service, loved our stay, would not hesitate to stay again !!

The staff were very good. What was a little disconcerting was that there was no office that was staffed during the day. However, you can ring a bell and someone appears. Also this hostal is one of several that occupy the same building.

Hi Norma, yes, our staff is available 24 hours a day and we do have a reception but we are always running around making sure rooms are ready. If you need us, all you have to do is ring the bell and we show up in less than 1 minutes. Always willing to help. thank you for staying with us.
