The hot water was brown. Hmm. Take a shower in that. The beds are comfortable and the location is great. Staff not that accessible or helpful. Although there is air conditioning, the remotes to turn them on had been removed, so no air conditioning.

This apartment is in a great location right on Puerto del Sol. Despite all of the activity outside the rooms were quiet and dark inside. A/C worked great. Staff is responsive and helpful. Would love to return.

Clean, quiet, well-equipped property in very convenient locstion. However, the lack of a front desk and lack of English for all but one staff member (Mike) caused us some anxiety about checkin and checkout. Expedia says to contact hotel beforehand, but my 2 online messages and 3 phone calls weren't answered. Only a call by a previous Spanish hotel was answered. Mike did meet us as planned in that call, and Armando came at 7.30am to check us out as promised. Also, our reservation note said we would have to present a 200 euro deposit in cash on arrival, but in fact a credit-card deposit would have been accepted. The reservation said the hotel would collect our payment, but I have no idea how that was handled. Good place, but faulty comunications !

We wish we could have checked in earlier, also the apartment is in the center of Madrid, an area that is difficult to navigate by car, also parking is quite expensive. Otherwise, everything worked out very well.

The apartment was really great. We stayed 3 days in Madrid and the apartment is in a perfect location close to everything. We walked to El Prado and Plaza Mayor. The metro is just 30 meters away. To have a local data plan for $20 you have Orange and Vodafone just in front crossing the square. The apartment doesn't have any luxury but it's very clean, safe and it has everything you need for a family of up to 4. Armando is a strict and very clear person. He let us do the check in earlier as it was possible in our case. Next time in Madrid I will come here.

Great location
The room was comfortable and quiet. No matter what, you will need to navigate stairs - so beware if you have a lot of luggage. Also, paying the deposit in cash is easier if you want your money back sooner (at check out). Great location - although it was extremely busy when we were there (Champions League Final).

Lovely apartment in great location
Nice spacious apartment. Well equipped kitchen, with everything you need including dishwasher. No housekeeping throughout 4 night stay, not even the bins were emptied. Although it says free toiletries, all that was provided was body wash / hand wash, which was even full and wasn't topped up during stay. Check in is a bit slow. But brilliant location and lovely clean apartment.

Stayed two years ago and had to go back. apartment is not large but the two balconies overlooking the Puerto del sol more than compensated for this. Communication with the host was difficult . Basic lack of English and no response to emails and texts from the owner. However Armando who greeted us was very helpful. Hoping to return next year.

Good location, but requiring the security deposit in Euros is a hassle for foreign visitors. Also, not having staff onsite was a hassle because our WiFi access was terminated a day early but we could not call the hotel staff using WhatsApp without WiFi and they were outside of business hours. Lastly, having to wait for the walkthrough to get your cash security deposit back is a hassle as well as some visitors need to leave for the airport early.

Perfect spot in the town square right amongst the buzz. After an initial hiccup where the room we booked did not look like the room offered, including the lack of double bed (2 singles)and washing machine, we were moved after producing written proof of both. After some confusion we were shown the room we had booked, bigger, Street view with French doors onto the balcony. Nice little kitchenette, internet and good air con. Access by stairs or elevator with some stairs to climb to the landing if you got the lift. Fun place to stay.

Great Apartment in the Center of Madrid
We loved this place! If you want to have a more "homey" feel renting an apartment is a much better option than a hotel. The room we got had a washing machine/dryer, full kitchen, nice little dining room table, a separate bedroom with a decent queen sized bed, TV DVD player and stereo and a great balcony to watch all the action in the square. We like to go to grocery stores and buy a few things to make ourselves so the kitchen was great. I would rate this place as very decent but if you want a "hotel" experience this isn't for you. As an apartment it doesn't have daily cleaning but we didn't mind that. There were plenty of towels and cleaning supplies to keep us good for 8 days there and we loved having the washing machine so we didn't need to pack so many clothes. The owners/superintendents don't speak a lot of English but they're nice and helpful. We really are glad we chose this place!!

Experience was not all that good. Setvice personnel had difficulty communicating in English. Wifi access was limited to a few devices. Temperature on thermostat fixed to 19C for the minimum; so, uncomfortable at night while sleeping.

Great room. Great location. Poor service.
Check in is a pain. They are not too organized in this process. Have to wait a long time to check in. Unit had a washer but no dryer. Not sure why.

Very nice apartments! The location is excelent, the metro Sol staition is across the street. Mercado San Miguel, Plaza Mayor and Gran Via is walking distance.

LOVED the apartment. The apartment was beautiful and in a fantastic location. Right in the city center, with a train and metro station right out front. I'm giving Apartamentos en Sol a reluctant four stars due to the horrible lack of communication. I sent two requests prior to arrival for a crib to be set up in our apartment. They never responded. We stayed at three different apartments while in Spain, and Sol were the only ones to not give us any instructions prior to arrival. When we arrived, the front door was locked. I had to use my cell data to call the apartment phone number, and the woman who answered didn't speak any English and told me nobody there spoke any English. Now, I'm not some ignorant American who thinks the whole world should speak English, but I booked this place through an American website and expected someone to be able to at least vaguely communicate with me. Fortunately, I know some Spanish, so I was able to explain to her that we were stuck outside with no way in. She sent someone to let us in. There was no crib when we arrived, but they did get us one. One of the hotel staff rang our doorbell at 11 PM the next night to tell us we hadn't paid the extra 33 euros for the crib (why didn't they charge me for it when they charged me for the apartment the day before?) And, ironically, by ringing the doorbell at 11 PM to demand money for the crib where our baby was sleeping, he woke up our baby and she proceeded to cry for the next hour. So that was fun.

Great place!!
The apt was really nice and spacious. Not a typical hotel, it's an apt, they give you a key and leave. I had no issues but I wish they gave us an option to check in early. My flight got in at 8 am and I was in the city by 1030 but we had to wait around for 5 hours to check in. They were on time for check out but make sure you tell them you want to leave, they don't have a typical check in counter. The apt is right in the middle of city center. Couldn't have asked for a better place. When we checked in after waiting for 5 hurs, we were told that the deposit would be 200 euros not put on the card, we had to explain that we are tourist and for us to exchange money it would make us loose money at the end. We weren't told about this before. But the people were nice and they made an exception so remember that for your travel.

Excelente Apartment!
Everything excellent, apt clean, central and everything you need. Only down it is the check in. When you travel from out of this continent usually you don't have internet until you connect to wifi. Need to walk to hotel moderno and they were so kind that made a call to the phone on the reservation. For someone to go down and open the doors for us. The intercom was not ringing to the 6 fl. And we were not the only ones. Other than that. This is a Great apartment and will definitely recommend to everyone.

The gate way to the sun... This is the center of the city - where the action is... The apartment was a good size for my family of 5. Because this was an older building, we had a little difficulty opening the apartment door and the stairs walking up to the third floor were a little uneven, but no real complaints. I would stay here again.

Great apartment in good location. Unfriendly owner
Apartment itself was modern, clean and well provisioned. However the overall experience dealing with the owner was not very friendly. Communication even before arrival was curt at best. No one to greet us or Let us into the building upon arrival. We had to contact the owner by dialing international and then they sent someone. On check in they want €200 cash as deposit which I refused as I'm not in habit of carrying cash nor was i advised this was required before hand. Checkout procedure was unclear and felt rushed.

Central Madird Apt in Puerto del Sol
Very clean apt in central Madrid. Note it's not a hotel so you have to connect w the owners to check in and out. There's no front desk to ask questions etc....but it's a great location, very clean and lots of space

Unit has ALL the necessities and is located in the heart of it all. Nothing fancy, but for the price and location, it's a very, very strong option if you're interested in being self-sufficient and not relying on the hand-holding of a hotel and its staff. Would have been MUCH nicer if the manager, Mr. Armando, would have just cracked a smile...

Beds need updating but great stay overall
We stayed 3 nights in the apartment and loved everything EXCEPT the beds and shower. The shower clogged up after 5 minutes and the beds were more like cots. We had sore backs for days. The apartment was spotless upon our arrival and the kitchen was great. If they get new beds and bedding as well as better plumbing in shower we will stay here again. Also, the contact at the hotel was very helpful and gave us fantastic restaurant tips.

Our stay was wonderful. The apartments are so clean and they have everything that you could ever need. The apartment manager Armando was very kind and helpful. The location couldn't be any better. It is right in Puerta del Sol, the center point of Madrid. Everything is within walking distance from there.

Wonderful time!
This place is a great location. Armando the person who checks you in and out was flexible and welcoming. So helpful! Can't beat the location. Metro and bus stop out front door. Lots of dinning and central location to walk to tourist sites! I was impressed by apartment had lots of space, clean, comfortable. Highly recommend!

Too expensive, no sleep for 48 hours. Never again!
Lots of space in the heart of the city. Unfortunately we (and the rest of the building I am sure) did not sleep for the 48 hours that we were there due to partying neighbours who were not asked to leave or stop their behaviour. Even without the partying, walls between units are paper thin and our master bedroom shared wall with kitchen and living room in adjacent unit. With the neighbours tv on low volume we could still understand everything word for word as if the tv had been in our room. I will now only ever get apartments with noise laws in place not offered by this hotel.
