This hotel had the best service I have ever experienced! The clerks would recognize us and ask how we were enjoying our stay. They even remembered specific things about us to personalize our visit. It is an old monastery so you were staying in history. Would highly recommend this place!!

The property itself is charming, the rooms are modern and spacious. The service and amenities are top notch. Close to shopping, restaurants and important landmarks . The hotel has a lot of art on display. We loved it.

Disappointing. Had very high hopes for this hotel. Its very beautiful hotel- mix of the old and modern is interesting; however lack of function, especially in the room is substantial. Ate at the restaurant for lunch upon arrival and became very sick. My husband notified the hotel and we received an apology- that’s it. I was sick for a day and half! Breakfast is way overpriced- not worth it- so skip it. Still haven’t received our receipt- they told us it would be emailed- never received it. A very disappointing stay- will stay elsewhere when in. Maastricht.

This is the coolest hotel I have ever seen. The staff was awesome as well. If you like art and architecture, great customer service, a good wine selection and good food this is the place for you!

Artistic masterpiece
An artist's labor of love. The hotel is in an old abbey that not only has been lovingly restored but also meticulously and beautifully redecorated. You are staying in a masterpiece.

Because of Covid outbreak we were actually not allowed to travel from our hometown in Belgium to Maarstricht which i 10 km over the border. So we ask for this 700 usd stay for 2 days for a rain check, but nope we would be charged full rate.So we thought well then let’s see how this place is. Breakfast was supposed to be included but we were charged around usd 40 per person then parking also around usd 40 per night. Dinner menu was very limited and really very common food. Wine list extreme expensive for a little better wines.So we left after one night the “upgraded” room was so small that i could not go to bed without great risk of bumping my head. The friendly staff tried to make things up by giving us a bottle of local wine. All in all not worth to spend a fortune in this place! And flexibility zero under these extreme covid rules!

You made the reservation online, where you had the choice between the rate where you can cancel free of charge up to 24h in advance or the NON-refundable rate, where there is no refund in case of cancellation. You made the reservation 3 weeks prior to your stay and at that moment you chose the NON-refundable rate. At that time the current COVID-19 situation was already in place and you were aware of the risk you were taking by choosing the NON-refundable rate. In spite of that, I would like to apologize to you, because we want nothing more than for you to go home satisfied. Our NON-refundable rates are always excluding breakfast (€ 29,95 p.p.) and excluding parking (€ 35 per night), you have the choice if you want to make use of this. I am sorry to read that you experience us as inflexible, while the team works very hard to make our guests experience a fantastic stay. All this within the guidelines of COVID-19. My colleague Robin has sent you a proposal by e-mail after checking out, if you have the opportunity to let us know if you would like to make use of this, please let us know. Most of our rooms are located in the monastery itself. All these rooms are named with ‘monastery’. By walking through our garden, you reach the Gatekeeper’s Residence and the Casa Nova. Rooms located in those two buildings can be recognized on websites with the building name as well. By giving our rooms the name that includes the building they are located in, we expect our guests to know better in which building the room is located, when booking a room. We are very sorry that this was not clear. We will discuss this with the management team to see what changes we can make on the hotels.com website, to be even clearer here. very unique for a hotel setting inside a church. The food in the restaurant is of very high standard. But the layout or the guest room is very inconvenient. The valet parking fee is much too high.

Lovely looking hotel, but not great service.
The room was lovely, but the shower was not very clean - lots of pink mould in the tiles. The toilet was not cleaned daily and the coffee and tea were not replenished unless asked for. There is a limit of four coffee pods per day and additional pods are charged at €1 each. Parking is charged at €35 per day, but you can park one minute away for €15 per day. The city tax was on our booking confirmation at €5.59 per person per day, but we were charged €12.50 per person per day.

Great weekend excursion

Very unique hotel... friendly staff, received a welcome drink. A/C in the room, and free WiFi... overall, very nice. Only stayed one night, and had to leave early in the morning. Parking is a bit expensive...

Beautiful Hotel
Great hotel in the center of Maastricht. Simple room, but the restaurant is in a mezzanine in the middle of an old church. Very beautiful. Our room was near the service area and very noisy. I think it was room 123, you should avoid it if possible, because also the wifi quality was very poor. We told the management but they were full so they could not accommodate our request to change.

Ingenious architecture
Staff absolutely charming and attentive. First room wasn’t great, quite dark and pooky however on hearing we weren’t 100% happy we were found and asked if we’d like to move rooms.. staff took care of the move whilst we eat a delicious dinner. Second room much better. In all a fabulous stay. Highly recommend.

All in all OK but definitely not 5 star
Room was so cramped that I hit the radiator twice when getting out of bed. Bed linen had a hole in it and some dust/spider web could be seen close to the ceiling. Definitely not 5-star hotel standard. However service and politeness of hotel staff definitely a big plus!

It clearly doesn't look like a hotel from the front or sides but the location is easily found using a GPS. The interior has been very tasteful modernized while the exterior and main interior walls retain their original glory. The rooms are large and very comfortable. There is even an elevator. Service is excellent. I arrived quite late -- about 6AM on the morning after my reservation due to some flight issues, and the gentlemen in reception just rushed me to my room saying that the check-in could wait until later in the day. Everyone I encountered was equally helpful and gracious. The restaurant is located on a sort of loft in the middle of what I think was the church. Food was outstanding, and the pace of service is more like a fine dining restaurant than a hotel. Don't plan on a quick lunch or dinner. I would highly recommend this location.
