About this property

Bissantica, 17th-century stone house - Authentic Sardinia, private courtyard

  • The Space
Bissantica is not a holiday rental. It is a living piece of Sardinian history.
Built in the 17th century and restored using traditional techniques—raw earth bricks, juniper beams, granite floors, and hand-laid stone walls—this house has retained its soul. Two en-suite bedrooms, a library with floor-to-ceiling bookshelves, a kitchen with an original fireplace, a whirlpool tub, and a private inner courtyard that has stood for four centuries.
Every detail was restored by its owner, an engineer specialising in the restoration of historic Sardinian buildings, over two decades of dedicated work. Nothing here is merely decorative. Everything is authentic.
    The Experience
Bissantica is designed for those who travel at a leisurely pace.
Morning coffee under the pergola. Afternoons among nuraghi, wild horses, and empty beaches. Evenings by candlelight in a stone courtyard where time moves differently.
The village of Lunamatrona welcomes guests as part of the community—not as visitors passing through. That is rare. And it changes the way a place feels.
    The Location

1 hour from Cagliari International Airport
1 hour from the wild, uncrowded beaches of the Arburese coast
10 minutes from Su Nuraxi di Barumini — an UNESCO World Heritage Site
15 minutes from the Giara plateau and its free-roaming wild horses
