Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Lukiano?
The best area to stay in Lukiano is within the village itself, particularly around the main square and the surrounding streets.

Lukiano is a small, picturesque village located in the Basque Country, known for its tranquil setting and traditional architecture. The village centre is compact and easy to navigate on foot, with most of its amenities, such as the local church and a few eateries, found near the central plaza. The streets are generally narrow and winding, characteristic of a historic Spanish village.

Couples seeking a peaceful retreat will find Lukiano ideal. The village offers a quiet escape with opportunities for gentle strolls through the countryside or enjoying local produce in a relaxed setting. It's an excellent base for exploring the wider Basque region by car, with easy access to motorways for day trips to larger towns or the coast.

For those who appreciate the convenience of a hotel with a range of facilities set within a rural landscape, properties just outside the immediate village centre can be an excellent choice. These often provide amenities like a swimming pool, spa services, and high-end fitness equipment, all while maintaining the serene atmosphere of the countryside.
When is the best time to go to Lukiano?
Lukiano is a wonderful destination year-round, but the best time to visit truly depends on your preferences for weather and activities.

For those who love warm, sunny weather and outdoor activities, the summer months from June to August are ideal. You can expect pleasant temperatures superb for exploring the countryside, enjoying al fresco dining, and participating in local festivities. However, this is also peak season, so prices for accommodation and flights might be higher, and popular attractions could be busier.

If you prefer milder temperatures and fewer crowds, the shoulder seasons of May, September, and October are excellent choices. The weather is still very agreeable for walking and sightseeing, and the autumn months, in particular, offer beautiful scenery as the leaves change colour. You'll often find better value on hotels and a more relaxed pace during these times.
Can I cancel my hotel reservation on Expedia?
You can cancel your hotel reservation on Expedia, though it depends on the cancellation policy of your booking. Most bookings are refundable if cancelled within 24-48 hours of the scheduled arrival. Be sure to check your booking confirmation for the exact cancellation policy. If free cancellation is available, you can cancel directly through your Expedia account by logging in, going to "My Trips", and selecting your reservation. To find flexible deals, filter your search by "Fully refundable property" for hotels in Lukiano.

Plus, you'll earn OneKeyCashā„¢* on eligible bookings to use on future trips. Booking an Expedia hotel and flight package is another great way to save, where bundling can result in significant savings. *Excludes taxes and fees.
