A special rustico surrounded by nature

Our lovingly renovated Ticino rustico is located in Valcolla, nestled in the forest and just a few steps from a small stream. A special place for anyone who loves nature, wants to unwind, and wishes to experience the authentic Ticino.

The house combines the authentic character of an old rustico with warm and personal decor. Natural stone, old wooden beams, and hardwood floors define the house, while the large windows let in plenty of light and offer beautiful views of the surrounding greenery.

The ground floor features a fully equipped kitchen with a dining area and a wood-burning stove, as well as a private bathroom with a bathtub and shower.

A staircase leads to the upper floor, where you’ll find a bright, open living area with large windows, a cosy seating area, and another wood-burning stove. From here, a ladder leads up to the open sleeping loft beneath the wooden roof, which features a queen-size bed (152 × 203 cm).

Nature begins right at your doorstep all around the house. A private outdoor area invites you to dine al fresco, relax, or simply listen to the stream and the sounds of the forest.

Location & Surroundings

The rustico is nestled in the countryside, though not completely secluded. On the opposite side of the stream runs a road where cars can pass by. About 30 metres from the house, there is also another house with a very discreet neighbour.

Good to Know

The journey here is part of what makes this place so special: The last two minutes or so of the drive are on an unpaved road. Just before reaching the house, you’ll cross a small stream. Under normal conditions, this is easily manageable; however, in heavy rain or snow, we recommend waterproof footwear or wellington boots. Guests arriving by public transport will need to walk the final stretch.

During the cold season, the house is heated exclusively with wood. The firewood needed for your stay is provided.
