Facility is clean and staff is attentive and professional, yet personable. As is with many small hotels in Europe, the rooms are small and showing their age but clean. The location is amazing, walking distance to most of the major attractions in Lucerne, and the train/boat stations are literally just around the corner (so getting anywhere outside the city is super easy)…I can see why Hotel Alpina is highly rated, and I would recommend it also.

Great location

This is an amazing central location in old Luzerne, perfect for Lake, trains, buses, central to restaurants and walks and with a view of Pilatus. Supermarket near by aswell. However, it can be noisy at night and no air conditioning due to historic building. Good value for money overall. The hotel's location outweighed the negatives.

Great choice

Excellent experience at Hotel Alpina. Very comfortable room. The staff at the hotel are very kind and always willing to help. Luzern is a wonderful city — we loved it. I highly recommend this place to everyone.

The hotel is a beautiful old hotel, the rooms were updated with new windows and balcony door....which we needed because the street noise was loud and it was loud very late. There is no air-conditioning so leaving the window and balcony door open for the cool breeze was a must. Bed and pillows were comfy and the location is great for the train and overall sightseeing.We had a good stay.

I liked the cute balconies and that the rooms have been renovated , The location was also good . The room was nice and my only complaint is that the floor was a little sticky . Although the front desk clerk was efficient I thought she could be a little more welcoming . All in all a good stay
