We were travelling from Bilbao to the Mediterranean and it was a perfect location to stop for an overnight. Loads of room to park the car (roof box and bike rack), the room was really quaint and so clean. We were welcomed by Béatrice and Jean-François and a lovely intern working there on placement. "This is a tough place to review. The old world charm of this place is very nice along with the very quite town is quite enjoyable. I really liked the old building that is the hotel. But since it was at the start of a very hot streak, not having AC or fans made it quite uncomfortable. Also, the appearance of the rear of the building...

10/10 Excellent
"We have just returned from a wonderful week in this special of place with truly spectacular views. We were blessed with truly perfect weather & enjoyed both the pool as well as swimming, kayaking & paddle boarding on the surrounding lakes. We travelled far & wide to local villages, Lourdes, The Peak-Du-Midi, a spa in the mountains, even to a Vielha in Spain but also enjoyed simply relaxing at 'Le Petit Rossignol' for some much needed R&R with the cows & in the evenings owls & crickets for company.....shear bliss We didn't get to meet her husband, but the host 'Gail' couldn't have been more helpful, really friendly & excellent communication throughout.Stop thinking about it & book it!"

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Loudet?
The best area to stay in Loudet is within the village centre itself, particularly around the church and the main square.

This area is the heart of Loudet, offering a traditional French village experience. The streets are generally quiet and easy to navigate on foot, with historic stone buildings and a relaxed pace of life. You'll find the local boulangerie and a small grocery shop within easy reach.

For couples looking for a tranquil escape, staying near the village centre is perfect. You can enjoy strolls through the countryside lanes directly from your accommodation, visit the local church, and perhaps enjoy a quiet evening meal at a local restaurant if one is available. The focus here is on relaxation and enjoying the rural setting.

Families might also find the village centre appealing for its calm environment. Children can enjoy the open spaces around the village, and the lack of busy main roads makes it a pleasant place for leisurely walks.
When is the best time to go to Loudet?
The best time to go to Loudet is during the late spring (May to June) or early autumn (September to October) when the weather is pleasant and the region is less crowded.

Late spring offers comfortable temperatures, typically ranging from 15°C to 25°C, making it ideal for exploring the natural beauty of the Occitanie region, such as the nearby Pyrenees foothills. The countryside will be lush, and wildflowers are often in bloom. This period is excellent for active travellers who enjoy hiking or cycling through the scenic landscapes without the intense heat of summer.

Early autumn provides similar agreeable weather, with temperatures usually between 18°C and 25°C. The summer crowds have dispersed, allowing for a more peaceful experience. This season is superb for couples looking for a relaxed getaway, perhaps enjoying local wines and cuisine, as it coincides with harvest season in many parts of the region. The changing colours of the foliage also add to the picturesque setting.
