"We were mystified by the reviews for this property. Our renovated “city view” room was located behind a bus stop, on the ground level of a very busy road, less than 20 ft from the road. The room was not very comfortable. The internet access was terrible, important because cell service in this location is also limited. We enjoyed Solvang and the location was walking distance to several restaurants but will stay somewhere else next time we visit."

"Terrible value for money. We paid nearly $400 for one night, and it’s just a basic hotel I’d expect to pay $200 tops for - nothing luxurious or unique. Service was terrible. Paid extra $50 for breakfast that ended up just being a bottled juice from concession rack and continental style yogurt, oatmeal, or bagel… unreal. We thought we were getting breakfast at restaurant when we booked. This should’ve been free and included - we thought we were getting a meal at restaurant. And it took 25 minutes to get the oatmeal and yogurt despite the fact the restaurant was deserted and lots of staff around. I would’ve been surprised if we wanted that long for a whole hot made-or-breakfast, not 2 things they had to scoop. Unreal. Not in center of town either. A male worker also unlocked and walked straight into our room at 10am, despite us having a do not disturb sign on and check out being 11. Scared our kids and fortunately everyone was dressed. Place is clean and modern, so that is the good side. Just not anywhere close to being worth the money spent. I fully regret booking this here."

"The room smelled very musty and the toilet didn’t work properly. It flushed but the paper stayed and didn’t go out. The breakfast was good but the overall stay in Solvang was a waste of time since stores close by 4:30 and the majority aren’t even open Monday and Tuesday "

"We had a wondefull stay at Hotel Hygge. The room was clean and well-kept. Whole facility is nice and looks alluring. Small problems with check in were quickly resolved by nice, helpfull staff via telephone. Parking is just next to rooms. Great hotel!"

"Perfect location for one week off before starting a new role. Love that the location allows you to walk into town to get to the tasting rooms and dinner so you don't have to drive. The view of the vineyards, sound of the fountain from the kitchen, quiet backyard. Just a perfect set up to decompress.The hosts were the perfect balance of responsive to questions, but not hovering for our stay and we love how much room and well kept everything is. The kitchen is well stocked and there are enough towels, blankets, games, pillows to just let you settle in as if at home.We had considered a couple of options and mentioned several times that we were so glad we chose to stay here."
