The best area to stay in Los Gallardos is the main village itself, particularly around the central plaza and the roads leading off it.

This area offers a convenient and pleasant base for your stay. You'll find a selection of local shops, traditional eateries, and the village's central square, which often hosts community events. It's a compact and walkable area, making it easy to access everything on foot.

For couples looking for a relaxed and authentic Spanish experience, staying in the village centre is ideal. You'll be able to enjoy the local pace of life, dine at family-run restaurants, and perhaps sip a drink at a pavement cafe, all within easy reach of your accommodation.

Families might also find the village centre appealing due to its accessibility and the presence of local amenities. The village environment is generally quiet and friendly, providing a comfortable setting for a family holiday.

The best time to go to Los Gallardos is during the shoulder seasons of spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) for pleasant weather and fewer crowds.

During these months, the temperatures are comfortably warm, typically ranging from 20-28°C, which is ideal for exploring the local area, enjoying the beaches, and partaking in outdoor activities like hiking or cycling. You'll find the popular beaches of Mojácar and Garrucha less busy than in the peak summer, allowing for a more relaxed experience.

Families travelling with younger children or those who prefer to avoid the intense summer heat will find these months perfect. The sea is warm enough for swimming, and many local attractions and restaurants are fully operational without the overwhelming crowds of July and August.

For those who enjoy a lively option and don't mind warmer temperatures, the peak summer months of July and August offer the hottest weather and a bustling holiday experience.
