The man at the front desk was not very welcoming at check-in. We asked where the elevator was, and he gave us directions, and then informed me us was broken. The hot tub at the pool area was not working and out of service. Nothing special about this hotel, and we would not stay there again.

Staff was helpful. We had a large sitting area and separate bedroom suite which was nice. There were no door signs to let housekeeping know to clean, so no clean towels. The elevator was broken.

I love staying here. My first time was about 25 years ago & it’s still my first choice whenever I’m in town. The staff is always so friendly & the upgrades they made to the property are just right. Location is perfect for our needs. Having 24 hr Swingers downstairs really is a bonus too.

Fun retro hotel. Classic diner attached. Free valet parking. Close to Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, etc. Front desk was friendly and helpful. Super quiet hotel.

Elevator was broken, so was the heating which was not ok as it was really cold weather. Also internet was very patchy & stopped working altogether overnight. Very overpriced considering how many things weren’t working, after one night we checked out & moved somewhere else

Good for the price , had to book it last minute. Cleaning is not the best , you have to request daily maintenance to thw room and even though ask several time for clean towels and toiletries. Location is 20 min away for main streets and city sightseeing. No to many good restaurants near by

Property was in a very safe and walkable area, 4 blocks from the Grove and Farmers Market and reasonably close to Melrose and Hollywood walk of fame. Will definitely return. Also Swingers restaurant next door is absolutely fabulous!

The pictures were beautiful and we could see glimpses of that here and there. Our room was very musty, had missing tiles in the shower, mold behind the sink, a bathroom door that wouldn’t close, a bathroom light that turned itself on and off, and a semi working heater. To top it off our room was never cleaned during our three night stay. The valet was amazing and quick. The staff, for the most part, was friendly.

Such a cute hotel right next to a cute diner perfect for breakfast lunch or dinner. Also an amazing location close to Beverly hills, weho, and Hollywood Blvd. Such a cute vintage feel took us back and we loved it

The rooms are in quite poor condition. Our bathroom door did not close and the beds were teeny tiny. Elevators were broken and we had a fair bit of luggage to bring up to the third floor. The location is great though and staff were all friendly.

The room is smelly and old, no air ventilation. The towels are older and gross than the towels of the car washing places .

Bummer that the only elevator they had was broken and we had to walk up 3 flights of stairs with heavy suitcases then each time we went anywhere, it was those 3 flights of stairs again and again. There were missing tiles in the shower that should really be replaced. We needed to get the manager to come to our room to figure out how to get the internet password to work and how to get the television to a local station if we wanted to watch the Oscars or the news. They were helpful, but they might want to leave instructions in the rooms on one sheet of paper that tells step by step instructions on how to work the television and where the ice machine is located and other things that most motels/hotels have instructions in the rooms for. I have stayed at this hotel for decades and it looks nicer than it has ever looked. It just needs to fix broken things (keep them up) and leave instructions in rooms for things that guests might need help with.

Stayed 1 night for business. Room was nice and spacious. Only complaints were 1. The clock was battery operated and did not work likely to dead battery. 2. Ciyld not get the keurug coffee maker to work. Otherwise the other amenities, safe, refrig, microwave all worked fine. Would stay again when the need arises.

Torn between 2 & 3 stars because on the one hand, the property is fair for the price BUT our room still wasn’t ready 1-1/2 hours after check-in and it reeked of cigarette smoke. The maid left the windows open in an attempt to air it out but it was so bad, we had to sleep with the windows open, which meant noise. The next morning our clothes & hair smelled like an ashtray. UGH

This hotel has a great vibe, a great location and is very affordable. it has a lot of its original charm and the fact that there is a diner, right underneath is a bonus. You can get wine and food at the diner at a reasonable price. Way better than spending too much on room service. My third time here and I’ll be back again.

Bad beginning
At check in I was informed that my room, “that I booked through a third party *said with a sneer*” did not have heat or air because it was broken and they did not have a part to fix it. The gentleman said they did not have another room in the entire hotel and that was that. He offered no compensation or apology. He also handed me a key card and didn’t not explain that my 110 room was not on the first floor, as one would assume, but was actually on the second floor. So I had to return to the desk and ask for help and then had to ask for directions to the elevator. Every hotel that I have ever stayed at includes that information in their welcome spiel. I was tempted give this hotel one star for that alone, but did not because the room was clean and exactly as described. The location was great and the styling was adorable. Pros: Clean, huge room for a great price, big bed, plenty of blankets, restaurant right next door Cons: no air conditioning or heat, thin towels, the furniture looked a little beat up, (couch was pilling and saggy, one arm loose on a chair) NO Secondary lock, bolt or chain inside the room. As a woman staying by myself I found that very scary! All in all, if it hadn’t been for the unhelpful front desk person and no air, I would have been happy to stay here during a future visit to the LA area.

I like the location of the hotel as it is very central - near Melrose shopping, West Hollywood, Sunset strip. It is LA so it still takes forever to get anywhere. The staff is friendly. The rooms have a nice mid-century vibe. The carpets could use a good cleaning or replacement. Having Swingers downstairs is a convenience as is the coffee shop Harvey's across the street which is open before 8am. The price is good for Los Angeles.

Room was generally ok, habitable, however slightly damp. We had to advise the reception 24 hours in advance if we wanted the room clean, however they forgotten one time which means we missed out and had to use dirty towels. Our biggest problem was something out of the accommodations control, the constant noise of the other occupants. We stayed 6 nights, not one of those nights were peaceful, constant loud banging noises and other noises. One of our neighbors had their television on all night with the sound up high. People coming in and out all hours of the night and early morning. Surely the hotel Mano would have acted on the noise complaints. We only stayed here due to the location. Generally expensive for what you got.

The Beverly Laurel is a hidden gem of a place. It's an older hotel, but that's part of it's charm. Our rooms were clean and bright, decorated in a cheery deco style. The staff was very responsive and friendly--and they offer valet parking, Here's an added bonus for us since we're seniors and live out of town:, the hotel is close to Cedars Sinai Hospital-- which gives us a comfortable place to stay when we have medical appointments. Also, we can walk downstairs and have our meals in the handy cafe just below the hotel!.

Mid Century vibes, great convenient location. Had the "romantic suite" on 2nd floor - floor/room was vibrating from mechanical unit for diner i'm guessing? Round Bed was comfy, pillows were small super dense bricks that kink your neck, towels were thin and def could be updated. No extra perks in the bar except a few coffee pods (no bottled water) The suite has the big curved window and is covered by the exterior facade so when it got dark, our room turned into something of a Space Mountain Suite and was glowing blue, curtains helped but not much lol. Soaking tub was nice, but drain was busted. Covered parking in the back was limited but nice, valet person was friendly.

It was extremely noisy sleeping here for one night, the walls are paper thin and you can hear everything outside your door. We got a room (104) which is next to the supply room and every 30mins starting from 6am there was some form of banging, loud chatting or someone speaking from the phone. If your looking to get some good night sleep this is not the place. Very disappointed with my experience.
