"The Andel Lodge was a gem of a find! My sister and I stayed there on Tuesday 19th May and we were so impressed with everything! The decor was lovely, everywhere was spotlessly clean and our twin room was so cute! The staff were great, especially Theresa who really looked after us well, along with our aunt, uncle and cousin who were also staying there as we had a family funeral to go to. "I booked this hotel as it was advertised with restaurant and room service, but the restaurant was under refurbishment so neither of these were available (I was not told in advance). It also meant that I was woken up very early on Sunday by noisy workmen. I went as a treat to get some R&R time, but it was noisier than being home with the kids, and without the restaurant, it meant that instead of a nice easy meal, I had to head out to find something. I booked a Superior Pearl Executive Suite, expecting it to be modern like the photos, but the room was very tired and dated. One of the curtains didn't close fully, one bedside lamp didn't work, the carpet was thin and damaged, the remote for the heating/AC didn't appear to do anything, the old sash windows let in a draught and gave no insulation to the noise outside, the mattress dipped on one side, and there was an incredibly loud constant humming noise (possibly from the adjoining room's AC) that was unfortunately loudest around the bed area. I was looking forward to a peaceful lie-in, I had the room booked until 11:00 but checked out at 8:15 because it was just so loud. The young man at check-in was very friendly and welcoming, there is free parking, and it's only a short walk into town. Maybe I got a room that hasn't been refurbished yet (although I did pick the Superior option) and if I'd known about the restaurant situation I would not have gone. No food service AND noisy construction does not equal a relaxing stay."

"Nice place, good food, breakfast only from 08:30 so not brilliant for business travellers - I did get a breakfast box of pastries (though I'd ordered a bacon butty), which were OK and filled a hole! My dog was made very welcome, but had to be carried up the steps to the rooms only having little paws and not fancying the grated steps. The lovely lady at the very quiet mid-week bar was really helpful in indicating an excellent local walk - thankyou! Good location, just shy of any work in Norfolk - overnight parking in the marketplace (free from 18:00 to 08:00, then restricted) was easy and convenient. Comfortable room, very reasonable price - I'd stay again, but not with my dog when she's too heavy to easily carry up the stairs!"

"This was an unexpected find...and I shall be back! What a thoroughly enjoyable evening and stay over! I was working in King's Lynn and looked for somewhere central to stay. This popped up and showed a great value room for my night! I arrived late afternoon to a warm welcome...had to ignore the bar as I had some work to do, and so was taken up to the room...or should I say rooms! I had a beautiful suite overlooking the Market Place and the Minster! What a treat. There was a large open plan Kitchen/diner/lounge with a load of antique furniture [fitting to the style] and a modern kitchen area [fridge/oven/dishwasher/kettle etc and all the necessary equipment]. Down the corridor was a spacious shower room, and then in the middle was a large double bedroom with a roll top bath - just amazing value for the money. After completing my work I toddled down to the bar for a []few] pint[s] of well kept Directors - a pint I had not had for many years. I ordered the ribs which were excellent - although there were at least 8 other things I might have chosen - including the chop of the day! Also if you are Gluten Free - there is a huge choice! Had an excellent night's sleep, and departed early! As I say - I will be back!"
