"Will definitely consider staying here on future trips to Charleston. The manager was personable. But there were a few issues. Room looked clean but could use better vacuuming as I found a Cheeto and popcorn on the floor (popcorn was under the comfy chair I moved). Neither of which I ate while there. A few weird little insects in the bathroom sink. My shower was great but I wish it didn't include a midcalf foot soak as the faucet continued to run heavily as the shower was running. I really did not need constant reminders to "turn everything off and close the curtains every time you leave the room". I may be old but I'm not that forgetful! Was there three days. Lost track of how many times I was told this (numerous times while being checked in). Luckily the room stayed cool even with the AC off while out of the room for hours. And it was hot while I was there. Could also use a channel guide for the TV. Finally made my own with stations I wanted to watch so I didn't have to stop at every one along the way every time I wanted to watch TV. Just because the scoop for the ice machine is steel and doesn't really hold germs (48 year nurse) the fact it is left IN the machine, ON the ice, does mean everyone's hands do touch the ice when they pick it up. Guaranteed germs! The soda I purchased Sunday afternoon from the machine expired November 2025! It was flat when I tried to drink it later in the night so not reported as I didn't see anyone at key drop the next morning."

"The room was clean and either newer or recently remodeled. This layout uses the new compact style of newer hotel rooms where every inch is used, and while it is small, it's still easy to move around. At check-in, we were given a bag with two bottled waters, some chips, and a granola bar, and there were also cookies available at the counter, along with popcorn. The walk-in shower was large, and the water pressure was decent. The TV only offered cable channels with no streaming options. The bed was of medium firmness, but the pillows had very little support. The included breakfast was good, with scrambled eggs, sausage patties, potatoes, and waffles being the highlights. There were also the continental staples. The breakfast room was very small and cramped, though, meaning it was difficult to get around and be seated comfortably. This hotel is well outside the city, with only a small family-style restaurant on the grounds. However, it is right next to the highway, and its remote location makes it certainly quieter with almost no traffic."

The pool was not great - one of the underwater light was loose, & ended up floating free, the no-slip strips on the steps into the pool appeared to have been pulled off & never replaced, & the ladder at the deeper end was only the handles & no steps. Otherwise, it was fine."

"The Sparrow’s Nest was perfect in every way. The area was peaceful and quiet which provided the perfect getaway. You are also close to the interstate for easy access to downtown Charleston and any surrounding areas. The hosts demonstrate hospitality in everything that they do. They have put so much thought and effort into the rental-from dog bowls for our furry friends, an assortment of coffees and teas, toiletries, games, and even bird seed to load up the bird feeder and enjoy the assortment of birds at the front porch. The rental is beautifully decorated and comfortable. We cannot thank them enough for a wonderful stay! We will definitely be back when visiting Charleston."
