Family Holiday

Very well equipped and comfortable home in a quiet area. Good pool with sea views and not overlooked.Convenient for a walk to the village beach and restaurants or for wider exploration of the many sights.Margarida was always available for contact, responded straight away and could not have been more helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Wonderful get away!

Four friends meeting prior to a conference really enjoyed staying close to the beach in a wonderful home. A great area to visit, beautiful beach, delicious meals.

Lovely house, not far away from Lisboa/Sintra

Apple Beach Stay

Strikingly themed property, with large, deep pool and sea views. Really near to beach and many restaurants in a quiet village catering heavily to the Lisbon weekend breaks, so weekends a lot busier. Many sites just a short drive away and only 45 minutes from the capital.

Great location, plenty of space for our family if 6 and well stocked kitchen. Beautiful jasmine and flowers out front. We really enjoyed our time there. The Vrbo app is not easy to navigate or communicate thru. The house itself and furniture are dated, ie: rust, stains and some mildew-not a problem for our family but important to be aware of. Be sure to ask that the hot water be checked prior to check in, and that the freezer does not have frost build up.

Issues

Sadly pervasive smell of damp and mould. Some furnishings showing signs of mould. Vegetation on building out of control both front and back so much so that you are unwilling to leave windows open for fear of birds and insects entering rooms. Pool is in need of repair to areas that have missing tiles. Rooms are overly cluttered and feel that they should be de-personalised for a holiday let. The website photos need to be updated.

I am sorry but our stay was not pleasant. To list a few things the house was damp and smelled like it had been closed up for awhile. Construction woke us almost every morning. No hot water. Pool water was beautiful but the deck was not clean at all. We actually left a day early to stay in a hotel to take a warm shower before we left Portugal. Tea kettle did not work at all and coffee pot leaks water when brewing. If all these things were addressed it would be ok.

Very nice but a couple of issues

Overall we found the house to be light, bright and very spacious. The issues we had were that the owner double booked our first night which we would have been completely unaware of had I not contacted her the week before to ask if we could arrange a late check out. We would have arrived off a very late flight to find someone already in the house. So definitely worth confirming your dates before you go. Also one of the sliding doors at the back of the living room had a broken lock which we were not told about meaning we could have gone out and left the property unsecure. Thankfully there were electric shutters we could use. The bedrooms felt a bit damp and musty but this may have been due to the very poor weather while we were there. Probably wouldn't book again, but the house is in a great location very close to the beach and restaurants, also handy for the tram to Sintra.

Our experience was not good here and out of 15 houses we stayed in over a 3 month trip the only one we had complaints about. The house had been closed up for awhile prior to our arrival and smelled very musty. The upstairs hall bath had a terrible odor that we couldn't get rid of even after opening all the windows to air it out. The towels were very old and stained and not at all what you would normally use at a guest house. The outdoor cushions all had bird droppings on them. The hairdryer was one with the brush attachment and had old hair in it. We reached out to VRBO about everything and their recommendation was to put a full complaint in writing to the owner which we did. We itemized everything and her response was for us to vacate the house immediately and that she would refund our money. We found a different place to stay and moved out. We have received a partial reimbursement for our stay. All in all, not a good experience .

Vorab: die Bewertungsseite vorab funktionierte nicht!Gesamt-Urteil: 4,8/5Tolles Haus - Toller Pool - Tolle Gegend - alles zu Fuß erreichbarZum Haus:Ein charmantes Haus mit vielen Bildern, Möbel und Deko.Es gibt wirklich alles in diesem Haus bis auf freie Schränke oder Schubladen. Wir waren zu zweit und froh, ein Schlafzimmer als Zwischenlager nutzen zu können. In Summe haben wir 5 Schränke in 2 Schlafzimmern und ein halbes Regal in einem Bad freigeräumt.Küche: alles vorhanden, aber gleiches Problem. Das Haus wurde nach scheinbar renoviert - leider wurde nicht alles auf Funktionalität überprüft. Nach 4 Versuchen funktionierte dann das W-Lan, der Fernsehen und der Backofen. Auch der total verrostete Grill wurde erneuert.Auch ein Fenster ohne Schloss wurde repariert.Leider gab es im Nachbarhaus eine Kernsanierung, die uns vorher nicht mitgeteilt wurde. in 1-2 Monaten dürfte sie dann fertig sein...Im Ort gibt es tolle Restaurants für jeden Geldbeutel.Umgebung:Klar Sintra. Aber besser und mit deutlich weniger Menschen hat uns der Nationalpalast in Sintra selber, der Palacio de Monserrate in Colares incl. dem Super Garten und das Convento dos Capuchos (Kloster der Korkmönche) gefallen.Tipp: Wer Sintra besuchen möchte, sollte sich einen Parkplatz suchen und dann mit Uber (TVDE) fahren. Alles in allem:Nach Anfangsschwierigkeiten wurde ein toller Urlaub daraus.Weiterempfehlung: unbedingtRat an Margarida: Bitte mach einige Schränke frei!!!

Het huis ligt op een prachtige locatie. Faciliteit is in principe ok maar het algehele gevoel is dat het end of life is en dat geldt met name voor de kookplaat, de koelkast, toiletten en buitenstoelen. Verder is het in de wintermaanden niet lekker om buiten te zitten omdat er geen overkapping is,

Todo bien, menos la piscina

La casa es tal y como aparece en el anuncio. El piso de abajo con cocina, salon comedor y aseo. La parte de arriba, 3 habitaciones dobles y dos baños. Fuera no tiene mucho sitio para estar. La mesas, dos hamacas y poco mas. Hasta ahi, sin problemas, todo como esperábamos. El problema, y no fue pequeño, es que cuando llegamos la piscina estaba verde. Nos dijeron que vendrian de la empresa de mantenimiento y estaría lista en 24 horas. A pesar de los esfuerzos de la empresa, la piscina no estuvo para bañarse hasta el sexto dia, cuando habíamos ido para ocho. Imperdonable, cuando además nos dicen que habia sido por no haber hecho el mantenimiento.

Wunderbare Tage am Atlantik

Wir haben uns in dem Ferienhaus sehr wohl gefühlt. Es ist mit wirklich allem ausgestattet, was man benötigt. Das Haus ist sehr gemütlich und liebevoll eingerichtet. Der Pool hat alle begeistert. Auch die Lage ist toll. Nicht weit ist ein Markt mit frischen Lebensmitteln: Fisch, Gemüse, Obst, Käse und Brot. Der Strand ist nicht weit und wirklich wunderbar. Super auch die Haltestelle für die alte Straßenbahn nach Sintra, die wir genutzt haben. Unbedingte Empfehlung.
