Quiet, peaceful a great place to relax. A walk on the beach takes you to shopping and other places to eat. Our meal at Farol was excellent and as another bonus is breakfast each morning served with the view of the ocean.

It is a small 5 stars hotel so we were expecting a great service but our experience was disappointing. We arrived tired and hungry after a long flight, they offered a pool/bar restaurant but we waited an hour for 2 appetizers, was too much!. They also forgot or got confuse making our reservation for dinner, so no restaurant available. Also, if you enjoy privacy be sure to let them know, my husband was trying to sleep when a man was inside our room without first knocking at the door, 10 minutes later, it happened again with a lady inside our room when my husband was taking a shower! And finally, if you enjoy a dark room to sleep well, the room #301 is not for you, the light from the hall get in through your door and it is a party inside your room, not kidding! One manager said sorry for everything but that was all. No a single courtesy for us at all.

This hotel has one of the best views from the room we booked. The design of the hotel is wonderful and the staff are very helpful. Staying at the hotel added to my experience in Portugal. It was a pleasure to stay at the Farol hotel in Cascais. What a gem.

We spent four amazing nights at the Farol Hotel. The staff was outstanding …the breakfast was delicious and our room, 206, with all the amenities couldn’t have been more perfect not to mention the incredible view of the ocean. This is the best hotel I have ever stayed in. From check-in through to the end, every single member of the staff was friendly, and made the stay feel personal. The rooms are beautiful, but cozy, and the view of the water is spectacular. The breakfast every morning was so nice, and the bar was a relaxing, fun place to visit. It is very convenient to everything, but off the beat and path enough to be quiet. They even had bikes for us to ride! I would highly recommend this hotel.

Loved and would stay again!
This hotel is probably the most beautiful hotel we ever stayed at. The staff was Absolutely amazing and accommodating with everything. They helped us with all our questions and offered assistance through the whole stay. My only complaint is the cleanliness. Our bathroom shower was clogged which we found out in the middle Of the night so we didn’t complain. The shower and bathroom were not as Clean as we would expect for 5 stars. I had water almost covering my feet while I showered which it’s not good. However, I can’t stress enough on how much this hotel was beautiful and the location is 10000000000/10000000000. Also let’s give a huge shoutout for the sushi restaurant they have where we ate the best sushi we ever had. I would totally recommend and go back as soon as we can! Would love if the cleaning part was fixed :)

The hotel was exceptional. Great decor and an excellent location next to the picturesque Boca do Inferno and close to the Cascais Marina. Also very close to several museums including the Paula Rego museum. The staff were excellent, friendly, polite and nothing was too much trouble. We had breakfast included in our package and the selection was very good. Lots of choice, fresh and tasty. My friend and I are already planning our next trip!

Beautiful hotel with amazing service
The hotel is beautiful, well maintained and in a fantastic location right on the ocean and within walking distance to the town of Cascais and all sightseeing points. The staff is great, kind, helpful and accommodating. They have an amazing bar and fantastic Sushi restaurant on site. The freshness and quality of the fish and the fantastic Sushi Chef make for an unforgettable experience. We stayed in a large, spacious, super clean and well appointed room with ocean view. At night we could hear the waves crashing. The bathroom was also very spacious and clean with a fantastic rain shower. We received a complimentary bottle of wine and pastries. The breakfast is also very easy, delicious, well presented with lots of options. We would stay again in a heartbeat and can only recommend this hotel due to this wonderful experience. We will definitely be back.

The view from the hotel (and our room) was breathtaking, the staff was knowledgeable and most helpful, the hotel restaurants and art exhibits exceptional We highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Cascais.

Fabulous Farol hotel
The Farol hotel is a boutique hotel in Cascais. The hotel is on the coast and it’s fantastic to sit in the lounge and watch the waves crash against the harbour wall. The staff are super friendly and efficient. We had a side sea view room. It’s good to open the door and listen to the waves going up the gully. The room was very clean with a comfortable bed. The shower was big with different jets. We ate in the restaurant and the food for lunch and breakfast were of a very high standard. Even my handbag had a buffet.

Best location in Cascais, wonderful staff and guest experience. They have both morning and evening turn down cleaning schedule plus they left Portuguese sweets and healthy drinks to recover from days tiredness. The hotel concept is innovative. Very well located to have a nice relaxing time while being able to go to town. However, even though the property needs a refurbishment, the rooms are quite nice and so are the amenities. Definitely would stay there again.

The location can't be beat. The bar and poolside area are fantastic. Service outside is friendly but a bit slow and seems confused. Daily breakfast is delicious with an incredible view. When you book your room, try not to get one of the rooms on floor 3 with a giant wood beam in the middle of the room.

Needs to make a much bigger effort
I booked 2 nights at the hotel as I had drinks there on my last trip to Cascais and it was so nice, I promised to return. Some things can always be ignored but for a highly rated hotel that has no problem charging high rates for B&B and drinks etc, it falls short on more than a few areas. Too much furniture in the bedroom (random sofa bed), poor quality balcony furniture, small bathroom, broken serving dishes at breakfast, pool area badly managed with towels, glasses and unfinished food left uncleared and loungers untidy. THe location is great and some of the staff is very nice but some at the front desk never had a greeting, or made eye contact. The hotel is trading on its location and a once good name, but needs some attention.

This hotel was fantastic. The staff was friendly & courteous, the grounds & facilities were beautiful & it was in a great location. We could walk into the city within 15 minutes, a 5 minute (even less) walk to the promenade with shops & restaurants... just fantastic. The pool staff was helpful & attentive. The on-site restaurants were wonderful - the sushi was delicious!! Breakfast each morning was wonderful. The room & view were gorgeous. I can't say enough good things about our experience at the Farol Hotel. 10/10 would absolutely recommend.

The Farol hotel is a beautiful property with easy access parking for guests. Overall the property was very well kept, clean & staff were attentive and informative upon arrival. The restroom in our room could’ve been cleaner in the tub/shower, the towel rack was hanging off the wall, & when we needed extra towels housekeeping did not come. After a second call the receptionist handled it & apologized for the inconvenience. We enjoyed the pool, the lounge chairs, & the outdoor bar during the evenings. Unfortunately throughout our entire stay the indoor bar was closed. Some nights it was too windy to have a after drink cocktail outdoors so it would’ve been nice if the indoor bar was available. The espresso martinis were delicious! Overall we would return the stay was comfortable & accessible to nearby restaurants.

Incredible hotel for couples, especially if you're looking for a relaxed couple of days by the sea. Amazing service, friendly staff and great hotel facilities. The only downside is the noise from the hallways (cleaning staff) in the morning, as the doors are a bit older and don't isolate sound properly

Amazing location, great view of the sea. Generally very nice hotel. Staff around pool very friendly. Bathroom was very small, could barely get past toilet to get in the shower. Small plastic shampoo/shower gel etc that ran out daily between 2 and not always replaced. Seems like such a waste of plastic and would be better to have a wall mounted refillable option, we would be more eco friendly. No mirror outside the bathroom and very dim light in bathroom. Breakfast was generally an annoying experience. First question everyday was ‘what time will you come for breakfast tomorrow?’. When on holiday I like to relax and not plan my next day in advance. Staff also not very attentive at breakfast. Desperately need to invest in working salt and paper mills. 3 attempts some days and then you just have to give up asking for another one.

I had booked a room with ocean view. The woman that checked us in made a big deal about how she was going to give us an upgrade to a room with an ocean view--despite the fact that I had booked an ocean view from the get-go. When we opened the door to our suddenly upgraded room, there was a welcome envelope, addressed to me.... how did this envelope magically appear in suddenly upgraded room? There was no magic; the welcome letter was placed in the room that we had originally booked. Not sure why the woman who checked us in told us that she had upgraded us. If you like black carpeting in the room and hallways, and black tiles and walls in the bathroom, then this hotel is for you. The hotel has a great location and friendly staff, but needs a major overhaul in terms of design.

This hotel is in the perfect location, just a ten minute walk from the towns bars, restaurants and shops. The views are stunning. However, you certainly don’t get what you’ve paid for in terms of the rooms within the hotel! The room we had was very disappointing. There are other hotels in the area where you definitely get value for money but not here!
