No. 21 Beautiful & Cosy Modern Traditional Cottage

No. 21 Beautiful & Cosy Modern Traditional Cottage

10/10 Excellent
"A very lovely and comfortable cottage with great access to the spectacular coast nearby. 21 Habost has been very stylishly and thoughtfully fitted out, and provided everything we needed for our stay on Lewis. It’s easy to get to the lighthouse at the Butt of Lewis, to the beautiful white sands of nearby beaches and the very picturesque harbour at Port of Ness. Donald was a super responsive and friendly host, proactively making sure to check in that everything was ok. We would recommend a stay here to explore the island in a heartbeat."

"Had a lovely stay in Lewis at the Old Croft House, very spacious comfortable and clean rooms, location was an ideal base. Our hosts were Fab, Callum rang us after we had left to say he had found a bracelet in one of the rooms, we said we could go back for it as we had lots of time before the ferry but he insisted in coming to meet us at the ferry with it.We would highly recommend this property."

"Beautifully decorated and spacious. Perfect spot to end our day. So many amazing nearby beaches and easy access to Stornoway. Not a lot of restaurants open in the evenings locally, so you'll need to cook or head to Stornoway."

"Very thoughtfully appointed guest cottage, with lots of little extras (like several flavors of tea, and even suggested itineraries and points of interest), will feel like your own little home on the island."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Lionel?

You'll find most of the village's amenities within a short walk, including local shops, eateries, and the community hall. The harbour provides a focal point, with views of the fishing boats and the surrounding coastline. For couples seeking a quiet retreat with stunning views, accommodation overlooking the harbour is ideal. You can enjoy strolls along the waterfront, dine at local restaurants offering fresh seafood, and experience the peaceful pace of island life. The proximity to the ferry terminal also makes arrival and departure straightforward.Families will find the village centre practical due to its accessibility to local services and open spaces. When is the best time to go to Lionel?
The best time to go to Lionel is during the summer months, from June to August, when the weather is at its mildest and the days are longest.During this period, you'll experience average temperatures between 12°C and 18°C, which is ideal for exploring the island's outdoors without the chill often associated with Scotland. The extended daylight hours, sometimes lasting until 10 PM, provide ample opportunity for sightseeing, hiking, and enjoying the coastal scenery. This is particularly beneficial for those looking to make the most of their visit to the Callanish Standing Stones or the beaches.Travellers looking for a quieter experience might consider the shoulder months of May or September. While the weather can be a bit more unpredictable with cooler temperatures and a higher chance of rain, you'll find fewer crowds and accommodation prices might be slightly lower. This can be a good option for couples seeking a more tranquil getaway. For those planning activities like fishing or wildlife watching, late spring and early autumn can also be rewarding, as these times often coincide with specific seasons for local flora and fauna.
