The best area to stay in Liget is around the main square and the surrounding streets, as this is where the village's amenities and points of interest are concentrated.

This central area offers a pleasant experience, with local shops, traditional eateries, and the village's church all within easy walking distance. The main square often hosts local markets or events, providing a glimpse into local life. It's a small, close-knit community where everything is easily accessible.

Couples looking for a peaceful getaway will find this area particularly appealing. The quiet streets and the ability to stroll to dinner or a local craft shop create a relaxing atmosphere. It's great for those who appreciate a slower pace and want to experience authentic village life without needing to drive everywhere.

For families, staying near the main square means you're close to any local parks or community spaces that might be available, offering convenient options for children to play.

The best time to visit Liget is generally during the late spring (May to early June) and early autumn (September to early October) when the weather is pleasant and the natural beauty of the region is at its peak.

During late spring, the countryside around Liget comes alive with blooming wildflowers, and the temperatures are comfortably mild, typically ranging from 18°C to 25°C. This period is ideal for outdoor activities such as hiking along the Mecsek Hills trails or exploring the local vineyards. Families will find this time particularly enjoyable for nature walks and picnics without the intense heat of summer.

Early autumn also offers excellent conditions, with warm, sunny days and cooler evenings. The landscape transforms with vibrant autumnal colours, especially in the surrounding forests. Temperatures usually hover between 15°C and 22°C. This is a wonderful time for couples to visit, perhaps enjoying a wine tasting tour in the Villány wine region nearby or a peaceful stroll through the Pécs city centre, which is easily accessible from Liget. The harvest season also means fresh local produce is readily available.

While summer (July-August) can be hot, with temperatures often exceeding 30°C, it's still a popular time, especially for those who enjoy swimming in nearby thermal baths or lakes.
