"We were very disappointed with the condition of the corridors and room. There was a particularly unpleasant smell in both. The staff were pleasant and checked us in efficiently . We went for breakfast about 7:30 but it looked as if it had been well picked over and croissant and other things had not been refilled. Had after hours check in which went well, although gate for accessing parking area was not automatic but manual. Hotel is new in an older building, but that adds to its charm and has all the modern amenities (including A/C, which not all hotels have in the area). "Nice townhouse about 15 min walk from the centre of Angouleme. Friendly, attentive owner with plenty advice on places to eat. Tastefully furnished. Comfortable bed and private bathroom. Nice continental breakfast. Parking free on street outside the property. "

"A beautiful old house with just 2 bedrooms, this was a very relaxing and enjoyable one night stay on our journey from the Costa del Sol to the UK. We felt at ease with the owner (Dany?), she spoke very good English and told us why she had decided to turn what was originally her family home into a small hotel. We plan staying there on our future travels."

"Right across the river from the Musée de la Bande Dessinée! Requires a bit of an uphill hike to get to the center of town but there are also easy nearby bus stops to take you there. Service was fantastic, breakfast was tasty and the hotel is pretty neat. No AC though. "
