Les Diablerets Travel Guide

Tourist Guide

A mountain range with a lake reflecting the scenery, a house with a green roof, and a small boat on the water.
A snow-covered mountain with a lit chalet and a tree in the foreground.
A calm lake with a wooden dock and a mountain range in the background.
A church with a tall steeple and a clock tower, surrounded by mountains and greenery.
A snow-covered village at night with illuminated buildings and a church.

In this charming village at the foot of a majestic glacier, enjoy fantastic adventure sports and long dreamy days on the slopes, right into the summer.

Look for a peaceful collection of chalets nestled under the stunning peaks of the Tsanfleuron Glacier: This is Les Diablerets, where traditional alpine life meets an adventure sports hub.

Combine the visit to a quaint mountain village with skiing on a spectacular glacier. Les Diablerets’ mountain peaks were always said to be cursed and haunted, the crashing of rocks from high above believed to be devils playing. Today the village is a ski resort, part of the expansive Villars-Gryon.

Breathe fresh alpine air at nearly 10,000 feet (3,000 metres) at the Glacier 3000 snow area, which offers stunning views of surrounding mountains. Take the cable car up from Col du Pillon to Scex Rouge. Explore 16 miles (25 kilometres) of ski runs with 10 lifts. Include visits to Les Diablerets’ other ski areas, Meilleret with its red and blue slopes and the perfect beginner area, Isenau. Around the village are 19 miles (30 kilometres) of cross-country trails and 9 miles (15 kilometres) of skating tracks. Finish snowy days with tobogganing, snow-shoeing and climbing.

Tackle the Combe d’Audon, a tricky black slope. Look at the ambitious modern architecture of the Botta 3000 restaurant complex, designed by famous Swiss architect Mario Botta. Included in the entry price to Glacier 3000 is the Peak Walk, a dizzying suspension bridge between two mountain peaks. Rise even higher into the clouds in a helicopter and gaze over the pristine peaks below.

Enjoy winter sports on the glacier into the early summer. When the temperatures rise, find summer adventure in Les Diablerets with hiking, mountain biking, canyoneering and paragliding. Zoom down the mountain on the mechanical Alpine Coaster ride and feel the wind in your hair.

Stroll the serene streets of Les Diablerets, all pedestrianized and framed by sweeping natural beauty. Bring the family for a tranquil alternative to the bustling ski resorts around this area. Across Villars-Gryon, children under 9 ski for free.

"Lobby and main entry quite grand and beautiful. There was no A/C. Floor fan was available in our room, which was helpful, but with outdoor temperatures running around 28-30 F it was warm in our room. Can't really open windows at night because then one hears traffic noise etc. Would have been nice ..."
