I recently stayed at this hotel and many aspects of the experience were enjoyable. The rooms were clean, modern, and comfortable, staff at check-in and breakfast were friendly, and the amenities — particularly the pool, spa, and gym — are good. The ski-in/ski-out location is ideal for exploring the slopes, and the overall vibe of the property is relaxing and stylish. However, I need to be transparent about a serious issue that significantly impacted my stay. During our visit, my AirPods were stolen from the luggage storage room. I became aware of the theft as we were departing for the airport, reported it immediately to the front desk, and asked for assistance and any available security footage. Unfortunately, the response from management was completely unresponsive. I was told someone would call me back, but I received no follow-up communication, and there was no indication that any investigation was initiated. For what should be a serious matter — a theft from a guest’s personal luggage — the lack of accountability or support was both surprising and very disappointing. While many reviews praise the hotel’s style, location, and service, there are some traveler reports that mention concerns about service quality, responsiveness, and accountability from management. Some guests have even described safety or service issues and a lack of adequate follow-through from staff. Fantastic hotel, the staff was very nice and accommodating. Ski shop had great rental options and equipment was in very good condition. Ski room was nice and lockers had plenty of room for all gear for 2 people. Ate at Altayaki the first night and it was very good. Breakfast buffet was also amazing every morning. Would definitely recommend for a ski trip and would book again.

This was one of the best ski in / out hotels I’ve ever stayed. The staff were most helpful and friendly. The hotel restaurants were great to eat. The wine and cocktails were on the high price but very much worth it.

A truly ski in ski out experience right off Plein Sud chairlift. Val Thorens is breathtaking and the service is unmatched. Breakfast was included and was lovely every morning inside Casa Alta with a view of the slopes. Two turn down services per day and free ski locker with rentals and room reservation. My driver, Florian, was fantastic and was hired by the hotel to pick me up in Geneva, Switzerland. Great rooms and great value. Trip of a lifetime!

AMAZING!!

This hotel is amazing would highly recommend this to anyone going to val thoren ! The staff were brilliant and nothing was an issue - they sorted ski hire ,ski passes and even when our transfer cancelled on our return they sorted us a different one at 5am just outstanding service . We ate in the Italian every night and the girls in the restaurant were just the best . Tbh I could rave on and on about this hotel and cannot wait to get back next year

Amazing staff who couldn't be faulted in any way whatsoever Great interiors and style, modern spa vibe Wonderful breakfast excellet quality and choice Truly ski in ski out Loved the ski hire on site and the ski locker room which was practically on the slopes Room was a bit of a squeeze Dinner was good every night but not amazing. Good to be able to dine in all 3 restaurants on half board option Spa facilities all very good but not luxurious Room VERY hot at night in spite of turning down a/c to 10 Celsius (staff should have told us when calling down to reception to figure out a/c that it could have been turned off altogether centrally) as it clearly didn't work properly and we slept badly every night

Had an amazing stay at the altapura, read a few reviews a few days before we went and were worried, but it was great. Main complaints were about how hot the rooms were, which were understandable, but opening the window solved that. The other critique we read was about the restaurants and choice of food for half board. Breakfast was buffet and had a great selection. Dinner you get 65 euros contribution each evening towards food, which you can choose from the menu of the 3 different restaurants they have. European, Japanese and a cheese place. The food is all cooked fresh and to a great standard. The staff were really friendly and helpful, the hotel is in my opnion in the perfect location, ski in skin out, not far from several ski lifts, but not in thr centre of town so you don't get all the noise and footfall. Beds were really comfy, overall had a great experience and will be back next year!

We had a fantastic suite overlooking the slopes. The room was of a good size and styled well. Breakfast was good and the bar area and selection of drinks was very good. It is a spa hotel and this lets it down slightly. The spa is very basic and a bit dingy. The pool was also cold. Could do with a refurb in my opinion and this really would be a fabulous hotel. The ski hire was also 3 times the cost of other shops located 2 minutes away. I queried this and was told “it’s a five star hotel” by the staff. Although I get that when it comes to food/ drinks/ service. The skis were much the same as you can get anyway so didn’t warrant the unnecessary cost. I think it was over €100 per day for ski hire which is crazy. A little out the way for walking to the town but they offer a free (we always tipped the driver) service up to where ever you wish to go.

Exceptional staff and service levels. Very useful on-call shuttle around the town. Well located at the bottom of the piste with convenient ski locker room. Well run spa and outdoor heated pool.

Lovely hotel with an incredibly relaxing atmosphere. The staff were extremely helpful, the front desk, the concierge and the hotel shuttle in and out of town were exceptional. Breakfast was excellent, better than any other ski hotel I have used previously. The spa and gym facilities were also significantly better than any other I have used. The bedroom was quiet, comfortable and the little touches such as a wide range of movies on the telly made the holiday so much more relaxing and enjoyable. Would definitely use this hotel again
