"The property was clean and the bed was comfortable nice to have a kettle and fridgewith freezer compartment and a bacony. Needs a bit of refurbishment particularity the bathroom with a wet room and hand held shower head. Unfortunately the property is in a residential neighbourhood and dogs were regularly barking late at night and early morning which disturbed our sleep but this was no fault of the owners Spiros and his wife who were wonderful hosts. All in all a good stay in budget...

"Superb stay at these lovely, quiet apartments. Everything you need for a relaxing break. Swimming pool was amazingly clean, plenty of sun beds, and most days had it all to ourselves. Fantastic beach 10 minutes walk away, mini market close by, and a good few restaurants.

"The rooms were not equipped , seriously how can you not have bottled water in the fridge when it’s 38 degree Celsius outside for your guest on arrival , tea and coffee facility was zero no coffee no tea bags .. we where on our honeymoon, we requested a double bed and got two single beds , I speak Greek and of course it was the ole I don’t care attitude and yes you have a lovely room ! NOT THE CASE … the property is dated old and the rooms need a major facelift as do does the service.."

"We had an excellent week in room with double bed. Area is quiet and it was possible sleep window open. Balcony was big enough and all was clean. Only minus is small space for shower.

"Our family had a great experience for 7 nights at Avithos resort. super close to the airport (9 minute), excellent location! Room has a fully furnished kitchen and a welcoming balcony! pool area is super well maintained and has enough chairs for all guests! Food is amazing and super tasty (until 9 pm only). Beautiful views and sunsets! kristina helped us reserve a private boat to Zakynthos and is super knowledgeable! Hotel is close to two beaches, small markets, 15 min to a bigger grocery store!! "Located a few minutes drive from the airport, with impressive 180 degree views over the ocean and airport. Have an aerial view of planes landing and taking off. Due to the height of the hotel, there is no issue with noise. The pool is one of the best. A decent length and width. The food at the restaurant was delicious and reasonably priced. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The rooms are large and spacious, the only small negative was that they smell a little musty."
"I stayed at Barefoot Contessa in mid-June 2025. I was holidaying as a solo traveller which I have only done a few times before and so was very anxious leading up to the trip. I needn’t have worried as I had an amazing week. The resort/village and apartments were both fantastic and the staff at Barefoot Contessa/Hemingways were always really friendly and helpful: Dimitra, Olga and Spiros and co.
The apartment was really lovely and clean. Comfortable and nicely furnished. Good shower and bathroom. It has everything you would need including a small oven/grill and two rings - although I didn’t actually cook as there are a small number of good restaurants very near by including Hemingways bay-restaurant just a few seconds walk away.
The apartment is literally a stone’s throw from a really beautiful beach - mainly sandy with crystal clear waters and backed by the most beautiful mountainous scenery. It is literally 2 mins walk from the apartment - possibly less!
The village itself is beautiful and was not at all crowded. It suits anyone looking for a quiet, scenic and relaxing break from daily life. I would thoroughly recommend Barefoot Contessa. "
