The Staff was very helpful but room condition was not the greatest
The main part if the Hitel and bar seems to be closed, which was disappointing as Inhavecstayed here before pre-COVID and it was a great place to stay.
The room was comfortable and clean and I would stay here again if there were restaurant/bar facilities available.

Trip away
A short walk from Blaby centre with free parking (camera controlled so register at reception). Rooms are a decent size, clean and functional. Hotel had no catering facilities so you need to rely on the outlets in Blaby. Overall decent for the price charged.
The property was undergoing refurbishment when we stayed so can't fairly comment on the decor or dining. Our room was a good size, the bed was comfortable and we enjoyed our stay. It was also good value for money. Would definitely stay there again if visiting Leicester by car. Would suggest that they have a bell or hotline phone at reception to call the duty manager on arrival to check in, as if you don't have a working mobile, you might have a problem!!

I needed this place to stay overnight for work purposes. For that - and the price - it was perfectly fine. Room was clean, had tea / coffee making facilities - and the place was close to Blaby town centre.
Place is undergoing restoration though - so parts of it are untidy; it doesn't look like the photo on the website.
No breakfast.
Receptionist Glen though was very helpful. Good communication.
I would recommend this place for work purposes - it's functional - but would not recommend it for holiday purposes.
Good location for the area I was working at. Good access with free parking that I felt my van was secure in. Lovely comfy big room with a good shower and comfy big double bed. Tea and coffee making with lots of tea, coffee and biscuits. Two minutes walk away from Blaby town centre which has real pubs, Indian restaurants, Chinese restaurant, pizza and fish and chips shops. The hotel got a three rating because the restaurant was not open for food neither at the evening or for a cooked breakfast.
A satisfactory hotel, room was clean, plenty of tea coffee and biscuits, comfortable bed, plenty of parking, staff were pleasant and helpful.
However, we got the impression there were immigrants/homeless people staying there, who hung around smoking and chatting outside. Walking back to the hotel in the dark after a meal out, there was a man stumbling about along the road, we kept our distance from him. He then went into the hotel, clearly known by the member of staff on duty.
I felt very uneasy walking from our room to the car on my own, and would not recommend this hotel for single travellers.

Fine for a one night stay. A little more attention to detail. Dirty mirror and bedside lamp not working. Served our purpose though.
The restaurant was closed, reception was barely open. The car park was littered with debris, breakfast . This was the first hotel thisWas not available on site. An all-round bad experience.
Blaby Western was obviously once a very lovely place. However, The main building now looks rundown and not looked cared for any longer. Large parts of it are more like a building site and not used but full of 'stuff'. The accommodation is very dated and in need of some TLC. The room we had was barely clean but functional.
We were given a double room which smelt heavily of smoke. We requested another room as neither my wife or myself are smokers. We were then given a twin bedded room. Tea cups missing. Receptionist wearing flip flops with bare feet. OK in Spain perhaps, not in Blaby. We’ve stayed in worse hotels over the years but many, far far better
Most thing's were poor staff not caring all they were concerned with was playing cricket on the car park ......extremely un professional in their work ......tiles broken in the bathroom, the whole place looked more like bombsite than a hotel, i will not be going there again
Needs an update, room as not terribly clean, I found a pair of socks at the side of the bedside cabinet. Shower curtain was mouldy. Something scurrying around in the roof throughout the night. No breakfast or restaurant as it was closed.

When i got to my room it hadnt been cleaned dirty towels bed not made no restraunt didnt do breakfast
I’ve stayed here 4 times.
First time the Stu didn’t have an overflow and there was a bad damp problem and smell
Second time the room was okay but there were no curtains so it was hard to sleep
Third time there was no hot water
Twice I got parking tickets even though I had registered my vehicle with reception.
These were cancelled when I queried it but it was still stressful.
The price is very high for what you get. I just booked my husband into the holiday inn in Gloucester for £70 a night and the experience was much better
I’ve held off giving a review for this property in Hope things would improve but I think after 4 disappointing stays with nothing but problems I would not go back here. Sorry.
The front of the hotel dreadful as if no one has lived there for years reception staff ok but forgot to bring me tea bags and toilet paper when asked for both
The separate shower (much better than climbing into a bath) had mould on the tiles and all round the base and there is no heating in the bathroom
The curtains did not fit properly so never totally dark to help me go to sleep and I had to ask for a heater as the central heating is only on for a very limited time and even when on the radiator only Luke warm
The fire alarm went off whilst I was there but no real communication from staff and only I and a few others actually vacated the building and none of us were given any instruction re fire drill
No facilities for meals. I would only stay there because it’s convenient for me to visit my family
