A little messy and damp smell. Too warm can't provide fan. In fairness, they were doing cleaning on the hallways and rooms. Outside cigatrette butts everywhere. Friendly staff. Needs more rectifications. Furnitures too old. Bedside lights not working.
Shocking. Freezing all night. Rude staff. No staff after 8pm. Tele didnt work. No soap in bathroom. No sleep all night was freezing and uncomfortable and the door didnt close properly and kept swinging open
I wouldn't stay here again even if you paid me. This is not an over exaggeration! In my first room i found a toe nail and a hairy bathroom, at 11:30pm i was woken up by russling. After turning on the light i was shocked to find a big fat hamster on the bedside table. I know ir says pets welcome but i didnt expect to find one living in my bed base! I complained and was moved to another room. This room was so dirty, there were stains on the bed, carpet and up the walls. This place hasnt been cleaned throughly in years! There were no bed side laps, limited plug aockets and the staff member I dealt with was clueless. I found a live beetle in my 2nd bed, having no choice but to stay overnight (because of the time) i slept (hardly) in full clothes. The pillows were so thin and the two spares had stains on. I checked out at 5:30am (where there was a big spider at the reception desk). Never been more glad to leave somewhere. I had already prepaid to stay there and it was a non-refundable rate. I called expedia straight away and on my first call i had to wait 40mins on the line to be told the hotel have said no to a refund but we can give you a £25 voucher for your trouble. I obviously requested for this to be escalated. Thankfully i had taken pictures and after waiting a couple of days i did receive back my money and expedia promised to launch a healthy and safety investigation! If you are wanting to save money and sysu here dont Becauae you will end up spending mlre on a new booking
There were stains on the floor the walls and on the chair in my room.
Yuk. Wish i had paid more to stay at the travellodge up the road not woth what i paid
itched all night and didnt dare eat any breakfast - not that i was offered any

I stayed here last night and I’m not sure why this place has had such a bad press on other review sites.... It was clean, quiet, good location, friendly staff....
The en-suite was clean and modern, the bedroom was small but cosy. (It was a double bed rather than a king size). Tea, coffee, & toiletries generously provided. Large-ish TV with 40+ freeview channels, WiFi, free car park.
Let’s just say it did the job - perfect for brief overnight stay, by all means not somewhere you’d go for a romantic weekend, but for £40, I was very pleasantly surprised. Didn’t have any issues or problems at all.
Only negatives were there was a missing bulb on a bedside light and the pillows were quite flat (I’m sure if I’d asked for another they’d have provided one though).
They don’t offer meals or breakfast but you’re only a 5 minute drive away from a retail & leisure park with loads of eateries so wasn’t a problem for us.
I would very happily stay there again..... clean, functional, cheap and cheerful :)
Bedding was clean. But needed 2 pillows as we were 2 guest.Staff not around enough. Shower wasn't clean. Tv didn't work. Couldn't find the so called bar. Only one cup and tea bag. As already stated they're was 2 of us
Oh dear!
First impressions count and we felt ripped off before we set foot in the place as, visible from the car park, was a board which stated the price to be 19.99 per person per night. Needless to say we had paid more than that.
Check in was probably the best bit of the experience as it was quick.
On arrival in the room, the first thing we noticed was a big hole in the bathroom door where someone had clearly applied a boot.
Absent from the room were the toiletries, bottled water and milk, although tea, coffee and sugar were provided.
Worryingly, the one fire escape route was down the main internal staircase leading to a locked fire escape door to the outside.
The room itself was definitely in need of a freshen up as, in addition to the damaged door, part of the skirting was missing (but not visible unless the door to the bathroom is shut) and the extractor fan was disgusting
Bed was comfy though and room was quiet.
Unfortunately the photos we took won't load up so you won't see what we did
Had a lovely stay at The Old Vicarage Hotel and the receptionist was really helpful and let us check in a little early which was appreciated. This did mean we were in Room 1 which is just outside Reception so at 3am when some drunks came in wanting a room (the hotel was fully booked) they decided to kick off and cause disturbance. This was no fault of the hotel and staff handled it really well.
Really poor welcome on arrival. Would have needed to have been escorted to room as got lost twice. Luckily I did not have a heavy suitcase.
Have no idea if breakfast was an option as there was no mention.
Rooms advertised out front as £20.00 per single guest but I was charged £45.00.
No bath mat and one single cup for a double room .
The window blinds didn’t close properly but bed linen seemed clean.
We have stayed at this hotel about 4 times and each time the rooms have got progressively worse. Basic is fine but this time the room was small & dingy . One of the double plug sockets was hanging off the wall. There was no plug in either the sink or the bath, there were cobwebs in the bathroom and the bed was right next to the wall. We pulled it out a bit so it could be accessed from both sides and it was dirty on the floor. It was a hot night and the heating came on , it was noisy we were woken 2/3 times by people shouting outside the window through the night. There is a sign up outside saying rooms from £19.99 which quite honestly is all the room was worth ! There was no one at reception when we left so I couldn’t complain.
Hotel staff very grumpy and not helpful, first room wasn't what we booked, second room had an awful smell and was really cold, third room was cold for the first night and the heater that was provided was sparking.
I stayed at the hotel and at first glance the room seemed nice! Good big new bed! Sofa! New bathroom! Then saw stains on carpets and sofa, broken bits near bed, rust and dirt in the bathroom and bedroom. Then NO HOT WATER FROM SHOWER OR BATH! Then the TV broke! 1 channel with no sound.
This place was absolutely awful. It was dirty, dusty, bed linen was stained and the door would not lock properly, so you didnt feel safe leaving your room. I would not recommend anyone to stay here.
