Guest Access:
Guests have the full private home to themselves — all three bedrooms, both bathrooms, the kitchen, the open living and dining areas, the covered deck, and the driveway. No shared spaces. Self check-in with door code. Your door code, WiFi password, and Leadville guidebook arrive by email before your stay.
The Neighborhood:
Ruby Lane is a quiet, wooded residential neighborhood in Leadville, Colorado — a few minutes' drive from downtown Harrison Avenue. Lots are spaced out, trees are abundant, and mountain views are visible from the deck. This is the mountain-retreat alternative to an in-town Victorian rental.
Walkable / short-drive downtown Leadville amenities (about 5 minutes by car): Periodic Brewing, High Mountain Pies, Treeline Kitchen, Silver Dollar Saloon (opened 1883), Melanzana (made-in-Leadville fleece), Delaware Hotel (1886), Tabor Opera House (1879), Leadville Colorado & Southern Railroad depot, the National Mining Hall of Fame and Museum, and dozens of galleries, coffee shops, and mining-history attractions.
Year-round outdoor access: Turquoise Lake (15 min north — fishing, kayaking, Nordic skiing), Mt. Elbert (14,440 ft) and Mt. Massive (14,428 ft) trailheads (25 min south), Twin Lakes recreation area (25 min south), the Mineral Belt Trail paved loop (short drive), Ski Cooper (25 min north on US-24), Copper Mountain (~35–40 min east), Vail / Beaver Creek (~45–55 min via I-70), and Independence Pass to Aspen (1.5–2 hr in summer only; pass closed November–May).
The Leadville Trail 100 Run and Leadville 100 MTB race routes are accessible from nearby roads.
Getting Around:
Ruby Lane is a residential wooded neighborhood — you will need a vehicle for both your trip to Leadville and for getting to outdoor destinations. There is no regular public transit.
Airports: Denver International (DEN) is about 2 hr 15 min via I-70 and US-24. Eagle County Airport (EGE) is ~50 min via I-70. Colorado Springs is ~2 hr 45 min.
Parking: 2–3 vehicles fit in the driveway. Neighborhood roads are maintained year-round, but 4WD or AWD vehicles handle winter conditions more easily — snow is part of the environment up here. A standard sedan can work on plowed roads, but budget a bit more drive time in storm conditions.
Downtown Leadville is ~5 minutes away by car.
Other Things to Note:
License #2026-096.
For stays longer than 15 days, a mid-stay cleaning is required and an additional fee of $150 will apply. This helps us maintain a high standard of cleanliness and ensures the home stays comfortable for the duration of your stay.
ALTITUDE: Leadville sits at 10,152 feet — the highest incorporated city in North America. Plan your first 24 hours easy: drink double your usual water, ease up on alcohol, and avoid heavy exertion the day you arrive. Symptoms of altitude sickness include headache, nausea, and shortness of breath. We cannot offer refunds for altitude sickness — if you're prone, consider travel insurance.
NO A/C: Nights in Leadville run 40s–50s even in July. Windows and cross-breezes handle daytime warmth. A/C is not installed and is not needed at this elevation.
NO PETS: Ruby Lane House is a pet-free home.
WINTER DRIVING: Neighborhood roads are maintained, but 4WD or AWD makes winter access easier. Budget extra drive time during and after storms. Chains may be required on some Colorado roads during winter — check COTrip.org before long drives.
PARKING: 2–3 vehicles in the driveway.
NO FIREPLACE: This home does not have a fireplace.
OUTDOOR GEAR: Covered deck with Adirondack chairs, hanging egg chair, metal patio set, and propane grill.
CHECKOUT TIME: Checkout is 10:00 AM. This is earlier than some rentals — please plan departure accordingly.
QUIET HOURS: Leadville observes Quiet Hours from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
WILDLIFE: You're in a wooded mountain neighborhood. Expect the occasional insect, small critter, or mule deer walking through. We pest-treat regularly and ask that you keep doors closed.
ARRIVAL EMAIL: Look for our arrival email with a link to the digital guidebook — check your spam folder. The guidebook has your door code, WiFi password, and local tips.
Interaction with Guests:
Traverse Hospitality manages Ruby Lane House. Your door code, WiFi password, and a full Leadville guidebook (restaurants, trailheads, ski conditions, grocery runs, emergency contacts) arrive by email before your stay. We monitor messages daily and respond quickly — most guests never need us, but we're a text away if you do.

Nadim was welcoming and addressed our questions about the property immediately. Well equipped and attractive property ..... we were happy with our choice to rent this place. It must be amazing in the summertime! Would love to sit in those comfy looking chairs, sipping a cocktail and watching the summer sun set behind the peaks to the west!
This cabin is perfectly situated in a wooded area that is conveniently located for access to Leadville (groceries, restaurants, shops, gas stations) and to many recreational & hiking areas – Turquoise Lake, Twin Lakes, Maroon Bells and Aspen, Snowmass. The distance to other areas such as Frisco, Breckenridge, and Lake Dillon is also reasonable. The cabin itself was spotless, all set with the amenities expected, and has a nice open area with kitchen, dining table, and TV room. The TV has plenty of streaming apps to choose from. Bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. Check-in went smoothly, and communication and response time with the renters was excellent. We would recommend this location to others.
From the check in to the check out, it was a seamless and pleasurable stay. The home is so cute and was very clean. The beds were super comfortable and all the amenities were there. Would definitely stay here again!
This was the best VRBO stay I have ever experienced. What wonderful memories we made that special weekend. If you ever stay in Leadville, this place should be at the top of your list. Every detail was just exceptional! Would 100% enjoy staying here again.
Great Mountain property- quiet and restful secluded location. Beautiful home with lots amenities Enjoyed the streaming services to watch football, nice balcony, good parking and kitchen appliances to cook. Great Family property. Clean, accessible, and affordable.
Beautiful home in a quiet wooded area. Home was well equipped in kitchen and bath areas. Just a few minute drive to Leadville. We really enjoyed our stay here.
The house was precious and we had everything we needed! Just a 2 mile hop to Leadville, 30 to 45 minutes to fresco and Breckenridge. Excellent view of the mountain tops from the front porch every morning and evening.
My girlfriend and I wanted to hike mount Elbert. We picked this place because of the short drive to the trailhead. It worked out GREAT! House was spotless! Easy in and easy out. Such a quiet neighborhood. Good communication if we needed it with the renter. Response was quick!! Would rent again!
