We loved our stay. The views were amazing. Sitting on the deck having a morning cup of coffee was a wonderful way to start the day. All the kids, from the littles to the bigs, loved their stay at the "big house".
The cabin was perfect for our family trip with kids and grandkids. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of space for our group of 14. The kitchen area was great for cooking and eating meals together and was well stocked with all the necessities. We will definitely book again and would recommend to our friends.
The main reason we chose this property was because of the bedroom/sleeping arrangements. When we arrived, we realized it fit us in many more ways. Such as, dining area, theater/movie area, hot tub, number of bathrooms, and overall room in us. The location was private, the scenery, breathtaking and the rustic/industrial architecture of the home was unique and beautiful.
The house is absolutely STUNNING! Better than the pictures! It was the perfect house and location for our intimate wedding celebration! Our friends and family had ample space to sleep and mingle. The house was clean and tidy, it was close to town if we need to run to the grocery store or head downtown deadwood for a night out. Very please and would definitely recommend this place to anyone! We will be coming back for our anniversary one day!
There were 6 families that stayed for 4 nights! The Greystone was the perfect place to hold all of us! There was plenty of space and room for the kids to run! Our all time favorite was the bunk room! The kids loved having their own space and have a constant slumber party! The hideout is soo cool with the tunnel that leads to it! The greystone was perfect for us and not too far from the ski slopes! The host was great with easy to reach by text messages! We would highly recommend you to book your next stay at the Greystone! Beautiful house and view you won’t regret it!
Beautiful house with lots of room and great proximity to Terry Peak! We had a large group and there was plenty of room for everyone! Kitchen was fully stocked with lots of pots & pans. House was clean overall but it seemed it may have been empty for awhile so touch up cleaning may be needed for future rentals. The private hot tub was great to have! We utilized the hot tub A LOT! Due to using it frequently, the water level dropped and the property manager promptly had someone come out to service the hot tub. Great customer service! I would definitely recommend this property to others! Especially if you are going skiing and have a large group!
Loved this place. The house itself is beautiful. With plenty of space and nice ammenities. We had enough people we rented the extra "hideaway" space which connects the main house with a space underneath of the garage. This was a nice space and was a cool feature that everyone found unique. Please be warned that the location is pretty remote. Distance wise it is only 10ish miles to Lead, SD, but the last 3 miles are all gravel and through an active mine site. I grew up driving those types of roads, but some of my guests were surprised by them and wondered if they were in the correct location. This is plus and a minus. This also means you are very remote. No signs of neighbors and lots of privacy. All in all really enjoyed the stay!
The Greystone house and property were fantastic for a mid-size family reunion we held in July! There was plenty of room for 10 adults and 15 kids - we rented the additional hideout section under the garage too. The kitchen worked well for preparing large meals and there were plenty of places to sit and eat. The house was clean and well appointed. Every bit as nice as advertised.
The younger kids loved the bunkroom, while the adults genuinely appreciated the large spacious bedrooms and nice bathrooms.
All of us enjoyed the home and the beautiful property. Good hiking and biking is available without driving elsewhere, and we had plenty of space for kids exploring, building forts, shooting BB guns, etc.
Other reviews have commented about the rough road to access this house. That is accurate, and we saw the good and the bad of that. The kids (and some of us adults) found it really interesting to drive through a working gold mine and watch the heavy equipment operating there. Once you got a couple hundred yards past the mine, the view and surroundings made it easy to forget it was there. However, the road past the mine was extremely rough. We suffered one flat tire during our 5-day stay.
I would ABSOLUTLEY stay here again, and would not be deterred by the road access. However, I would think carefully about what kind of vehicle I was traveling in.
House was perfect for our party of 18. Lots of space for smaller groups to congregate to “catch up”, play games, etc. Hot tub was popular place to hang out.Location was great for trips to Mt Rushmore, Deadwood and nearby hiking. Ultra peaceful location on 10 acres. Truly couldn’t have been better for our needs.Host/management group couldn’t have been nicer or more responsive.FYI - I NEVER leave reviews but this place was that good.
It was a bit of a trek up in the snow storm, but the view and privacy were totally worth it. The fireplace and hot tub made the stay very cozy. And the short drive to Terry Peak is the cherry on top!
The property was absolutely stunning. Absolutely perfect for a large group. Plenty of space for parking multiple trucks and trailers. Property owner wad very responsive prior to stay and during.
The cabin was perfect for our large group! Plenty of space, we’ll stocked kitchen, beautiful construction. Bed/bathrooms provided privacy for each couple/family. Check in was simple and communicative with property manager was outstanding. We loved the cabin and will definitely rent again!!!!

Amazing!!!
We had blast at Greystone!! Tami was very responsive and helpful!!! We will be back!!
You won’t regret renting this property!! It has a very homey feel especially fur the size. There is plenty of sleeping options and enough separation if you have a large group with loud kids! It’s just minutes from Terry Peak so we took advantage of that! It has a great kitchen to accommodate our group and it is not lacking any kitchen equipment. We would definitely rent this property again!
This property was wonderful! The pictures don’t do it justice. We had all ages 4 months - 75 and it was easy for everyone to be there. There was more than enough space for all of us to be alone if we wanted or be together inside/outside. Most of us enjoyed the location but some thought it was just a little too far out of town. We are already thinking of booking again next year.

The property is amazing. It has a chic industrial style. Very roomy with massive windows.
It was a unique place—you actually drive into through an active gold mining operation which tends to keep the weekend explorers out and limit the traffic going by. The kitchen was an amazing gathering place for our extended family and the evening thunder and lightening storms provided the entertainment.
Plenty of room for our extended family to engage and also have private space when desired. I loved the style of the place and marveled st the architectural features—the stairs are a work of art.
I would have moved in if I could have😍

Beautiful Home but not for Rally Riders
The home is truly amazing. The kitchen is to die for any one that loves to cook. The road is a different issue if you are planning for coming for the Rally DO NOT book this house. The road is horrible, several of the bikes had flats, fenders ruined and scratches. I did reach out to the property manager and asked if he had driven on the road he stated no. I booked this home a year ago and asked if the road would be suitable for bikes and was assured it was. It was so bad I sent several videos and pictures of the road. We ended up checking out two days early due to the damage on the bikes.
We loved Greystone! Our large group used the house as our base and visited attractions as far away as Wall Drug and the Badlands. We cooked huge suppers in the fantastic main kitchen and also cooked in the well appointed kitchen in the Hideout. The kids loved the tunnel to the hideout and the bunk room was a favorite for the kids also. The acoustics were great for our family concerts on stringed instruments. The only complaints our group had are mentioned in other reviews—mainly the glaring sunlight in the kitchen—and the lack of a fireplace screen or other means of blocking the view through the glass back of the fireplace. The bed is directly opposite the fireplace and can be viewed from the living room. Correcting this issue would be greatly appreciated. We were very glad the bedrooms had window coverings for our stay. We are planning to return to Greystone next year. Having traveled with VRBO to the Black Hills and Lead in particular several times, this is our new favorite listing.
The photos don't lie! This property was more than I expected. There were three couples and we had more room than we knew what to do with! Each couple had an en suite bathroom plus extra beds if we wanted to space out. Sheets and towels were very high quality. The televisions in every room made it nice to watch the different sports we were interested in and also could escape to another part of the house if you wanted peace and quiet. The downstairs bunk room doubled as a place to do Pilates for the ladies. Kitchen was very well stocked, great glassware, dishes, pots and pans, coffee maker, etc. But the best place to be for our party was on the deck! A most beautiful view - great for just hanging out with a book or a glass of wine or both. We didn't use the hot tub or fire pit but it was available. Enjoyed seeing wild turkeys, deer and a very friendly chipmunk ;). If we were ever to return to that neck of the woods we would stay there again without doubt! Great Host - very attentive!
