Search Lay hotels

The best times to visit Lay are during the spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) months, when the weather is pleasant and the region is particularly inviting.

Spring in Lay brings comfortable temperatures, typically ranging from 10°C to 20°C, and the countryside is lush and green with blooming wildflowers. This is an excellent time for outdoor activities like hiking and cycling through the Monts du Lyonnais. The local markets are also abundant with fresh produce.

Autumn offers similarly mild temperatures, usually between 12°C and 18°C, and the landscape transforms with rich, warm colours. It's an ideal period for exploring the vineyards of the Côtes du Forez and enjoying wine tastings, as it coincides with the harvest season. The region's culinary scene is also at its peak with seasonal dishes.

While summer (July and August) is popular, it can be quite warm, with temperatures sometimes exceeding 25°C, making some outdoor activities less comfortable.
