2024 Hocking Hills Trip

The property was as described, very secluded and quiet. Kitchen was small but we prepared all meals ahead of our trip and used the outdoor grill for cooking. Was nice to be able to fish on the property.

Our stay was nice and mostly quiet the neighbors up the hill across the pond were a little loud at night however but it was a positive experience for the most part

Cozy place to stay

It was a girls trip stay. This cabin is close to all the hiking trails and they even have trails of their own. Very clean and cozy cabin. They had everything there. Wonderful stay

Beautiful cabin

Very nice property neat and clean would stay again. Only problem no stove it needs to have a one burner that you can plug in electric. The electric skillet was notworking for us. Beautiful place and very quiet

Cabin stay

Overall it was nice and peaceful. A few things could have been better the fire pit could have been cleaned up and available for guest to use the gas grill had propane but would not stay lit.there was an old swing out back that would have been great if it was out in the yard and it had an swing in it so the guests could have enjoyed it.the place was clean and tidy inside and very cozy 😀

Trip with my boys

Awesome little cabin in the hills ! Very quiet and secluded and the kids caught big bluegill the entire time. Property manager was helpful and replied quickly when I needed him ! WiFi signal was strong and much needed out there ! We had a blast and will definitely check to see if it’s available next time we’re down ! The road to the cabin is a little rough but my truck made it fine !

Beautiful

This was a great place so peaceful. And the pictures don’t do this place any justice! It’s beautiful! And the property manager is super at responding with anything you need or any questions! We will definitely be back thanks for the amazing memories! My daughter even caught her first fish and we threw him back in for someone else to enjoy catching.

Nice property but cabin needs work

We enjoyed the pond and paddle boat at the property as well as the outdoor fire pit. The cabin itself is in need of some updates. There is no stove. The living room furniture is uncomfortable and the shower is tiny! The biggest problem we had were wasps inside the cabin! We killed 17 of them while we were staying there for 3 days. I did communicate this to the property manager who informed me they spray every 2 weeks. However I think they will need to take a more extensive look at the property as it seems there is a nest in the walls.

Run Down

The property was run down and sketchy. Had a hard time figuring out any electrical outlets. Could only run a few appliances at a time, the 3rd floor was controlled by a light switch in the second floor. There was black mold in the shower that I had to clean before we could use the shower. And even with cleaner and a brush it was still gross in the shower. The kitchen was nearly non functional, could only run one appliance at a time, the lighting was horrible. It felt like there were cameras watching our every move and it was unsettling. I WILL NEVER STAY AT A PROPERTY OF THE HOST AGAIN

Nice, comfortable cabin near everything

We really liked our stay at this cabin. It was perfect for a three-night stay! The cabin is close to all the hot spots in the Hocking Hills area and not too far from Logan, where you can find good food, groceries, coffee, etc. We especially liked the fire pit and utilized it every night. I was actually really surprised that the mosquitos were not a problem being so close to the pond. The weather was great for hanging outside well into the evening. However, I could see noise being an issue if you have inconsiderate neighbors. Sound seemed to echo from across the pond. We could hear everything our neighbors said even though they were talking quietly. It wasn't that big of a deal. And on Friday night (our last night there), someone drove their ATV around the area, which was rather loud. They stopped before we were ready to go to bed. But, I'm sure that it really depends on who is renting the cabins near you. Having access to so many options on the tv was nice, too! We were able to wind down in the evening with just about anything we wanted to watch. The only real issue was the lack of kitchen amenities. We read the reviews beforehand and were ready for the lack of a proper stove. Breakfast was the only issue we had in the kitchen. We enjoy a good bacon/eggs/toast breakfast when we go on a trip like this. It just wasn't possible in this kitchen. But, we had some good microwave-only meals. Overall, this was a great cabin and a really nice trip to the Hocking Hills area.

Very remote, dirt road to get there, but scenic. Needs repair.

We were booked for two nights, but had to leave after the first night, due to needed repairs. The cabin is rustic, as advertised, with a nook for a kitchen, but we didn’t want to cook, so that was fine, but the microwave couldn’t be run at the same time as the coffeemaker or toaster oven. There were notes in the kitchen to tell us that. There was a note in the upstairs bath to not use the toilet because it was out of order, so we needed to go down two flights of stairs during the night to use the toilet. When I used the shower in the upstairs bath, water gushed through the ceiling of the downstairs bath, and if another person hadn’t been in the downstairs bath at the same time, no one would have seen it and it could have been a disaster. This leaked from the shower drain, not from water splashing outside the closed door. This was at 1:00 am, so I called the owner in the morning, and he was very nice and refunded our night and found us another cabin for our second night that was wonderful. My discontent stems from the fact that he knew he had a plumbing problem and rented it to us anyway. Another suggestion is that cleaning be more thorough and remove some of the rustic decor, which makes the place appear cluttered. The owner was responsive to our dilemma and courteous, but the cabin should not have been rented in that condition.

Cockroaches

I received an email stating that I would get the key code the night before check in. I actually received it the morning of the day I was checking in. It wouldn’t have been a big deal except they didn’t tell us to bring our own towels until they sent the key code and we were already on our way since we had a 6 hour drive. We planned to horse back ride before we checked in so we didn’t show up until after 5:00. We didn’t realize how far away everything would be from the cabin, so we drove 35 min to find some dinner. We didn’t get back to the cabin until late. We just went to bed. We woke up to cockroaches in the bed with us and cockroaches running around the cabin. We decided to just grab our stuff and leave. I have dealt with cockroaches in the past and didn’t want to risk taking them home with me. They are very hard to get rid of. I contacted Abdul the property manager and he tried telling me that they were stink bugs and gave the excuse that we were in the country. I let him know that I’m from Kentucky and very much a country girl. I also sent him pictures of the cockroaches and he still tried to lie and say they were stink bugs. My husband then calls him and Abdul finally admitted that they did spray the house for roaches, the conversation got a little heated because he was trying to gaslight us. He ended up hanging up on us. The Cabin was cute and we would have definitely enjoyed our time if they didn’t have a cockroach problem. If your looking to do activities just know that the cabin is pretty far away from everything and a lot of driving will be involved.

Quiet get away!!!

It was a needed quiet much needed get away for my daughter and I. Very relaxing stay. Little older cabin could use a little update on a few things but it’s a cabin in the woods with a nice catch and release fishing pond and place for a fire. We had a great time, thanks.

The setting of this property was great. Could have used a bigger kitchen. Also, upon entering with the key, the latch didn’t work correctly vans the strike plate fell off due to screws to small. Communicated with owner. Took pictures of property upon leaving. Hated to leave the property unlocked.

Needed getaway.

My wife and I had an amazing time. The cabin is close to all the attractions. We liked how close the cabin was to the pond and i got to do some fishing. The fire pit worked out well. I brought a grill and was able to cook steaks over the fire. There are several other cabins but this one was only 50 ft from the pond.

Cute cabin off the beaten psth

We spent 2 nights at this cabin. The description is accurate. Yes, the kitchen is small. We only used the toaster and microwave. The downstairs is cozy but enough space for four of us. We loved the massage chair. The bedrooms had planty of room. We enjoyed the pedal boat and did some fishing. It was about 25 minutes from Logan. It was conveniently located for hiking which is what we were there for. The owner was quick to respond when we had questions about the cable. I'd recommend bringing a map of the area because GPS does not work well within a few miles of the cabin..
