Great house for large party

We enjoyed our stay with 4 families ages 11-50. We especially enjoyed fire out, volleyball, hot tub, and gaming watching football.

Very nice reunion trip!

Stayed with decades-old group of college friends for annual reunion and had a great stay. Host even offered to drop off supplies from town for us! Loved the wooded property and pool :)

Great spot for a long weekend getaway

Place is just as described! Owner was friendly and helpful. We had a large friend group trip here (22 adults) and there was more than enough space for everyone

Family vacation

It was a really nice place for our family vacation. Plenty of room for our large family! Close to hiking trails and a small petting zoo. The pool and hot tub was a little cloudy, but overall we had a great time!

Great Weekend with Friends

This house was great and a perfect setup for a weekend retreat with friends. Really beautiful property and tons of space. We enjoyed the views of the pond and surrounding forest, it was really peaceful. Some of the outdoor areas and outdoor furniture like the side patio were pretty dirty, but there were many other hang out areas for all of us so it wasn’t a big deal. All in all in was a great stay.

Family fun

We had a blast. It was in the 90’s the whole time we were there so we got a lot of use out of the pool and on the patio! Caught a few nice size fish too! The hammock was amazing. We also enjoyed a family friendly game of volleyball on the hill! All the rooms were good sized! Lots of places to hang out! No complaints! We all had a great vacation!

Hocking Hills Vacation

21 of us .Lots of rooms and spacious kitchen.Pool Needs some help. Liner was loose. No rail to get up to the pool. My wife is on a walker and I am going in for knee surgery so a rail would have helped a lot .Tim Connors

Perfect for large family gatherings

We have an annual family weekend (18 of us!) and this property was perfect! The pool was a big hit and just right for all the kids (ages 4-16), as well as adults. The house was spacious with multiple living areas to hang out but not be on top of each other. The kitchen had everything you could need. I think it's be best stocked kitchen we've seen. The karaoke machine was really fun for the kids. Besides the pool, there was lots of outdoor space. We enjoyed the picnic pavilion, volleyball area and fire pit - perfect for smores. We also enjoyed hiking in the area, local pizza and ice cream. Highly recommend!

Perfect!

We had an absolutely amazing stay at Deer Ridge! All my cousins and their children came together for 2 nights and we could not have asked for a better place. Plenty of room for everybody, and plenty of things to do. Just exploring the property could take a day! We all decided that WHEN we come back, we'll stay for 3 nights, not 2! Owners thought of everything; so many details that I've not seen at other places we've rented. All very thoughtful and appreciated! Can not recommend this place enough!!

Nice!

This property was the perfect size for our family. From the pool/hot tub to the theater room all of our grandchildren had something to do. The only downside we found was that there was not much room to fish from the outside perimeter of the pond. Other than that, perfect spot for a fun, quiet, relaxing vacation with family. Saw roaming deer from the porch every day. Beautiful!

A Little Bit of Heaven

This was the perfect for our family reunion. There were 23 of us, 11 adults and 12 children ages 2-18. The house was very comfortable and had plenty of room for all of us. Kitchen is very well stocked. Different ages could group in different areas without disturbing anyone. The pool and fire pit were enjoyed by all and the pond in front was a perfect setting for our family pictures. There was room to park all the cars. Couldn't have asked for a better place to enjoy a few days of heaven with our family together.

Perfect

The house was as described. Kitchen well stocked. Lots of places to hang out and play games. Woods was beautiful this fall (2024). Fishing at the lake was very good. Hot tub was nice. Our family really enjoyed all the things to do. What stood apart - what makes it a 5 rating for me was the service I got from Brandon.. he was more than helpful in so many ways. He BROUGHT us bait, answered a question nearly immediately. He asked multiple times if we were ok, needed anything. This is very rare for service. Lastly, my granddaughter left a necklace- he went and looked for it and found it. What a good guy he was. Thank you....

Excellent rental for families

We had a wonderful visit with an abundance of room and activities for all ages. Close to nearby hiking. Was disappointed that we were unable to fish at the pond located on the property. There was no propane tank for the grill or bundle of firewood as described. The property manager was notified and was going to bring the propane tank and offered to bring wood, but never delivered either. Not a huge problem, but did require a few changes in plans. Overall, had a lovely stay with plenty of room for our family and beautiful scenery.

Wonderful family weekend

Our family of 16 had a wonderful weekend at Deer ridge. We loved the side porch and spent alot of time sitting there catching up. We fished and raced rc boats in the pond. We played volleyball and had a campfire. We made huge meals and were very thankful for the 2 ranges. We were disappointed that the foosball table wasnt there as it was listed and shown in pictures. Also the basement could use a thorough cleaning. We had a dirty sheet issue during our stay and Brandon was quick to respond and replaced the sheets. All in all we had a fantastic weekend and would definitely stay here again. Thank you for hosting our family!

Bucolic Bliss

This is a sprawling property well back from the road. It was serene and picturesque. There were 19 of us, including 10 children, ages 2 to 14. Plenty of room for all. TV sets everywhere, comfortable beds and a very well equipped kitchen. The pool was deep enough to enjoy and shallow enough that all but the 2 youngest could stand up. Volleyball net, Cornhole, covered pavilions and a fire ring with large bass in the pond and lawn enough for sport. Randy was very responsive to questions and concerns, though our report of the malfunction of one of the commodes was not remedied as promptly as would have been desired. Overall, we really enjoyed the property and our stay. We highly recommend it!

Family time

The property worked well for 18 of us for four+ days. There was plenty of room to spread out and we were able to be inside or outside. Brandon was very responsive to any issue we had and got back to me right away. Some people thought the property could have been cleaner. I agree but I also think it must be very hard to keep a place of this size super clean when the turnaround time is so limited and so many people use the place. It's certainly possible that my standards are lower than others in the group. The pool was wonderful for us given that it is shallow - maybe 3 1/2' deep. The lining will need to be replaced soon and I am sure that it is a major expense. We wanted to be together and we got to be together in a lovely place with two grills, two stoves, two big refrigerators, and lots of room for everyone. Thank you.

The grounds of Deer Ridge and the size of the home was more than we expected. The kids loved fishing all day, swimming in the pool, and relaxing in the Cinema room.

The spaces were great. Lots of room to spread out as a family. Large kitchen with lots of dishes, pots, pans, etc. Good variety of beds and sleeping areas. There were no kitchen dishrags or towels. Pool was fantastic. Beautiful setting, but a bit overgrown. Interior was dirtier than expected. Sticky floors, dirty corners, some dirty dishes. One queen bed in jack/jill on the main was terrible. Turns out it's a pillow-top mattress that was turned over and held up by blocks of wood. Toilet in master needed support because it wobbled badly. With some deep cleaning and some minor repairs, including some faucet repairs, this could be a 5-star place all around.
