Cielo Vista! Amazing San Juan Mountain retreat

"The. Views. This house showcases the views of the San Juan mountains, and it doesn’t disappoint. Huge deck to enjoy the outdoors (we were there in summer), inside should the weather not be favorable. The windows do make it warm later in the day, so the shades help, and ability to open the lower windows, too. In the rooms: ceiling fans and ultimate evening cool down works, too (no a/c, so not a drawback). Plenty of cooking utensils, and starters. The upstairs has three beds, a little sitting area and a door that helps with air, but bathroom is downstairs. I was surprised to see carpet in the bathrooms. It’s a 15m drive from Ridgway on dirt but well maintained roads. The map from the website (can) put you off about 100 yards; use 245 and the street for best Google directions. Loved the location: to Ouray 30mins, or Telluride 60mins, perfect to get away and be in the mountains, but close enough to enjoy these beautiful towns. Owner was responsive, helpful and generous on house access (was able to check in a little early and out, but that was bc of other guests timing). You sit in the trees, with stunning views…what else can you ask for? I would come back again."

"We stayed 5 nights in late August 2026. My requirement was unobstructed views of mountains and this property is as advertised...the views are spectacular! The home is very clean and spacious. The location worked for us since we wanted privacy and being able to close to town was not important. Ridgway is a short 10-15 minute drive for some great pizza at Colorado Boy. We went to Telluride one day (50 minutes) and then drove to Silverton (1 hours) on another day via the Million Dollar Highway....the most scenic drive we have ever done! Spectacular! We hired Jack as a guide from Rigg's for an all day Trout fishing trip that was great as well. The master bedroom bed is a disappointment though since it is just a queen and there is plenty of space to put in a king. My husbands feet kept hitting the end of the bed (he is 6' tall). That room is particularly hot as well and that is something they know about since there is a fan in the room. There is alot of glass in that room (2 walls) which provides excellent views but hard to sleep in a hot room in August. I tried to adjust the AC but since the thermostat is at the other end of the house it never got that room cool. I do like a very cold master though. They could put in a bigger TV in the family room...it is a large room and hard to see such a small TV from the couch."

"The home was clean and well kept...well stocked kitchen with cooking supplies, dishes, etc. The mountain views are amazing! There are resident chipmunks who visit the back deck, and a deer and her fawn were there several times. We did see a bear on the way in as well. Been to Colorado many times over the years - was not disappointed. Be aware that in a car the driveway is a bit of a challenge, but my daughter's car did make it up."

"We had a wonderful stay — the house is incredible and the location can't be beat. It's a quick drive to both Telluride and Ouray, which made day trips easy. Our family of six fit comfortably with room to spare. Highly recommend!"

"We had a great time visiting with family, the hot tub is perfect for watching shooting stars! If you are looking for a quiet, private location, this is perfect! There were deer nearby every day to see thru the windows, and Rick, the host was very responsive. The kitchen well stocked as well!"
