"A great hotel within short distance from the airport. Two excellent swimming pools and fantastic breakfast. We encountered two separate issues during our stay and it took a bit of back and forth of emailing and Expedia’s interference to resolve. Without those issues it would have been a truly wonderful experience."

"Room was clean and in good condition. Good room design, such as the night light in the toilet. Nice water features, pool beds, and infinity pool. Pools are open 8am till 8pm only. Breakfast had a decent spread: I liked that there was sourdough bread and yoghurt, as well as rotating local dishes such as kueh and beef tendon. There was a RM200/pax BBQ on the beach on Fri & Sat night. Approx 15 min walk to the middle of Cenang beach. Consider renting a car to enjoy Langkawi’s nice scenery and relaxed traffic (a Perodua Myvi worked well for this pair of Asian folks)."

"I would avoid. We turned up for our booking and our room wasn’t ready , although our names were on the board in reception. The staff didn’t seem apologetic even though we had arrived there at 7pm and they had all day to contact us to say there had been a mess up with the bookings . I’ve also read this had happened to other people . He hesitantly got us another room at a hotel which wasn’t as nice and not what we paid for. He told us to come back at 2 pm the next day for our room so we’ve now missed our on 1 and half days in the room we were supposed to have . When we arrive at 2pm the staff explains the room still isn’t ready. This was not acceptable considering everything that had happened again there was no urgency or a sorry or even a care. He was very unhelpful. We’ve been travelling since January and have been very opened minded on where we’ve stayed & I’ve never had to write a bad review but this really wasn’t okay . So just be weary booking here . I would recommend kasbah as it’s the same location as the location is really good but same price."

"Very cool place to stay. Water buffalo outside my bungalow, amazing view of the fields, a short walk to the beach, spacious room, nice staff...Gemalai Village was a memorable place to stay. Very basic and rustic. I loved it."
