Secluded Lake Elysian Cabin Retreat – Private, Peaceful & Steps from the Water

10/10 Excellent

"We had a wonderful stay over Memorial Day weekend! The house was perfect for the two of us and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. Since we keep our boat on a nearby lake, we spent most afternoons and evenings enjoying the cabin and all it had to offer.We loved soaking up the afternoon sun, bird watching, relaxing by the water in the lawn chairs, and ending the day with a campfire while watching the sunset. The property was incredibly peaceful at night, making it the perfect place to unwind. We also appreciated that the rental included a lily pad and kayaks, which made it easy to enjoy the lake even more.The property was very clean and well-maintained throughout our stay. The only potential downside is that it may not be the best fit for guests with mobility issues due to the terrain and the staircase leading to the bedroom upstairs. Other than that, we had an excellent experience and would definitely stay here again!"

"A beautiful, clean cabin that was well stocked. She even had a dog gate there which we used to block the entry way while we unloaded so we didn't have to worry about the dogs running out. The fenced in area for the dogs was a huge perk, connected to the side door which made it easy to let them out for potty breaks. The 4 season deck overlooking the lake was wonderful, we spent a lot of time out there. Host was very helpful, we had issues connecting to the Internet and she stopped by to make sure it was working. Swimming on the beach was great for the dogs, it was a little weedy for us but they had began raking the weeds and had piles on the beach. Thank you for a lovely stay! We will definitely be back!"

"Overall, my stay was not bad. I appreciated the simple breakfast that was provided, and the air conditioning worked well, which made my stay more comfortable. However, I was disappointed with the cleanliness and housekeeping service. The toilet paper ran out, and although I asked for assistance, the issue was not resolved promptly. I also requested room service/housekeeping for my room, but the service I needed was not completed. While there were some positive aspects to my stay, I believe there is room for improvement in cleanliness and customer service."

"This was our first stay at a bed-and-breakfast, it turned out to be great. Our host Brad and Julie were extremely nice very friendly. A room was great. The breakfast was fantastic, far better than you’ll get in any hotel. I would highly recommend this bed-and-breakfast to anybody that is in the Waterville area. I am sure that you will be as pleased as my wife and I were."

"Greg was an excellent host, responsive and great attention to detail. Our large group, including 4 families with multiple kids ages 2-15, had plenty of space to sleep and play inside. The game room was a nice addition and we used some kayaks and the paddle board. We were able to access local amenities easily (5 min walk to the swim beach, 5 min drive to the state park and into town to some restaurants and parks). The biggest downfall to us was that we hadn't realized that the house is not directly on the lake; we had to walk across a road to get to that area and the dock. We didn't use the fire pit at all because we had kids in the house and it was too far away. We also didn't fish much for this reason."

"This wasn't the worst stay I've had, but far from the best experience. The lobby area had coffee and decaf when I checked in but it was cold and not fresh, which was a bit disappointing since the rooms did not have any kind of coffee. The check in process was quick and the staff member was friendly, but wasn't at the desk when I arrived and had nothing to clearly identify her as being a staff member. When I checked out, I had to give my keys to the cleaner. Unfortunately, the fridge in the motel room itself was stocked with a former guest's food, so it wasn't clear if or when this was cleaned. The toilet had some kind of stains (perhaps rust). The showerhead was also positioned quite low, which was a little annoying as I am 5'11''. It would be nice to have Wi-Fi Information listed somewhere (on the guest card maybe.) The air conditioner didn't seem particularly effective as the room was very hot (however it also was just a hot day and I didn't have it on the strongest setting). One of the two keys given to me didn't work to open the door, and the other worked inconsistently. The room had relatively good lighting, lots of nice lamps. There were plenty of electrical outlets (But no USB ports) and a very nice desk. The bed was reasonably comfortable (although some of the bedding had some signs of wear/usage). The room was quite affordable!"

"Very cute and super clean house on the lake. Plenty of beds for people to sleep! Great outdoor area and equipped with games and entertainment items. House is fully stocked with all you would need in case you forgot something. Host was very responsive and brought us another load of wood when I informed her we ran out. Great spot just wish the living room was a big larger. We had a group of 10 and we couldn’t all sit together in that space. Lots of fishing off the dock and my boys used the canoe to fish away from the dock."
