The location was within walking distance to the marina and several good restaurants, including Italian and Asian. The property was also peaceful with convenient parking. The courtyard was beautiful and the hot tube was quiet and relaxing. We would stay there again.

Beautiful property with clean and well kept rooms. Staff was friendly and helpful. Close to food and activities but away from the casinos enough to be quiet and feel safe. Will definitely be coming back!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Deerfield now known as Blackbear Lodge! The grounds are beautiful and our room was spacious and cozy at the same time. We were greeted by the Nicest people that made every attempt to make us comfortable and answer all questions. We highly recommend staying here.

Highly recommend

Absolutely amazing stay at this lovely property. The rooms are large and modern. We were downstairs so had a nice patio space with a gorgeous view of the green outside. Walking distance to the lake and Heavenly village with lots of amenities very close by yet still get the woodland/ nature feel.

It is a hidden gem, would return if visiting lake tahoe. Convenient, bog, clean room on the groundfloor and thus enjoying the garden. Great to have coffe makers, perfect chairs in the garden.

The front desk staff was very nice and helpful during our stay. She obviously likes her job! Nice quiet property. Our stay was during a heatwave and, thankfully, there was a large floor fan in addition to the ceiling one.

We stayed during the heat wave with highs around 87 degrees but we were pleasantly surprised to enter the room with the fan on, it felt like it had been air conditioned. Lovely room.

Enjoyed this Lodge for the large rooms, the quiet and low number of guests while here. The Lodge is well-kept however, somewhat tired in appearance. When we reserved this place, it was called The Deerfield Lodge but since then, new owners have taken over and did away with included breakfast. Still worthy of staying in.

Toilet ran every minute of stay. Promised free breakfast was suddenly only on the weekends. Temp in room was difficult to adjust. The room was beautiful, as was the patio. Staff very nice.

The property and service were good nothing special. The so called continental breakfast though was a joke. Had a couple of choices of muffins and stale croissants. The office is only open from 9 am to 5 pm. If you need anything after hours you are out of luck

The Deerfield Lodge has been acquired by the Black Bear Inn next door. Unfortunately, Expedia never informed us of this change. The Black Bear inn does not offer breakfast anymore, as still advertised on the expedia website. there was no attempt to rectify this situation.

Die Rezeption war bei Ankunft nach 17.00 Uhr sowie bei Abreise vor 09.00 Uhr nicht besetzt, bestehende Probleme mit der Unterkunft konnten nicht bereinigt werden. U.a. funktionierte der Gaskamin nicht, obwohl wegen der kalten Temperaturen dringend benötigt, das Zimmer wurde weder gereinigt noch die Handtücher gewechselt. Telefonisch war der Notdienst des Hotels ebenso dauerhaft nicht erreichbar.
