Normally the breakfast room was next to the reception but there was a meeting or something and we had to have breakfast at the bar which was not pleasant and the food was cold and fruit just left out was not refrigerated properly

Great hotel

This hotel was outstanding. The staff was so pleasant and so accommodating . Everything was great. Rarely any outages with electricity and if so it was on within minutes. Would recommend this hotel

The hotel check in was a nightmare, took over an hour of faffing about. Before I say why, I would note that the 3 desk staff tried their best but are completely powerless due to the draconian, controlling senior management insistence that international payments are not taken by credit card. I am from the UK, I had originally booked with another well known hotel booking company but had to cancel due to the hotel not being able to process an overseas Mastercard credit card. Nowhere on the booking company website or even the official website of Msquare does it state they do not accept an international payment. I offered to pay cash at the rate I was quoted on the hotel booking site, they refused saying I had to pay full rate, I wanted to pay via Msquare website but again told to pay full rate. I get a frequent stayer discount with websites and was not about to pay 40,000 naira more than quoted I was told by a Nigerian guest that the Msquare management would have deducted the difference from the staff salary should I have insisted I pay cash at the rate quoted I had an early checkout. my rate quoted included breakfast, I noted this on my booking. I was told someone would make me an omelette to eat before I left. I didn't receive my breakfast because the staff were still asleep. The barman was rude and dismissive as they come. Because there was no readable menu, he tried a belittling tactic when I asked of the price of food and drinks saying this is GRP not VI. I could go on...

REFUSED TO ACCEPT I HAD A PAID BOOKING

This hotel refused admission till l paid again even though l had my confirmed booking and receipt from Hotels.com. I had to pay another 60,000 naira for a tiny room with a single bed . l had booked a double delux room with breakfast. They are scammers.. I contacted Hotels.com and they tried to contact the hotel but could not get any answer. I have not received any refund up to now from Hotels.com or the hotel. This is theft and totally unacceptable

Arrived at the hotel, after 14u and room was not ready. Despite the msquare sending a mail to completed check in online, I was handed another stupid papier to complete at the reception, which I refused to do, I should them the email they sent me asking me to complete check in online. Due to the terrible Lagos traffic, a journey that was suppose to take 10 mins, took over an hour. When I got there and asked the receptionist for a cup of water. The lady called and somebody brought water and their paying machine. Honestly? Where is the guest services. They could not even give guest on arrival this. I asked to see the room they were going to allocate to me. It was a room to the right side of the hotel on the ground floor, where their staff all walk pass your windows and you can sell the house of their staffs and they keep talking all through the night. If Nigerians are use to sleeping with Generators and loud noises, this rooms are not suitable for foreigners. So people can’t sleep with noise and nobody comes on holiday. They could not give me another room and I refused to take the room and contacted Expedia who returned my money despite it being a non refundable booking. Must a say after a man came who was in no way going to solve the problem and he was the one who told them to give me a bottle of water. All they care about is collecting guest ‘s money. But no customer services, no solving of guest problems. Have used this hotel a few times,never again. Outdated now.

Just one of those days

The whole facility needs an upgrade and the service needs to get better especially the guys at the kitchen. I enjoyed having the guy at the bar around cause he has a way of making our stay worthwhile. The lady at the front desk is an asset did a very commendable job to make me stay an extra night after the first days horror. In all I will rate MSquare a 5 over 10.

The staff was helpful... The hotel could be updated. There should be more than one set of keys for hotel rooms. Staff is super loud in the mornings.During my stay, i had to keep switching rooms. I would not recommend this place.
