Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Laghdir?
The best area to stay in Laghdir is the Medina, the historic heart of the city.

The Medina is a labyrinth of narrow, winding streets filled with local shops, traditional guesthouses known as riads, and small cafes. It's largely pedestrianised, offering a genuine sense of the city's heritage. The Grand Socco square marks one of its main entrances, and from there, you can explore the Kasbah, the old fortress overlooking the port.

Couples often find the Medina an ideal place to stay for a romantic and culturally rich experience. The historic riads offer unique accommodation with inner courtyards, and the evenings are spent enjoying traditional Moroccan cuisine in intimate settings. It's superb for those who enjoy exploring on foot and discovering hidden gems.

For those who prefer a more modern setting with easier vehicle access and hotel amenities, the Ville Nouvelle, or New City, is a great option. This area features wider boulevards, contemporary hotels, and a range of international restaurants and shops.
When is the best time to go to Laghdir?
The best time to visit Laghdir is during the spring (April to June) and autumn (September to November) months.

During these periods, the weather is pleasantly warm, with comfortable temperatures ranging from 20°C to 28°C. This makes it ideal for exploring the city's historical sites, relaxing on the beaches, and enjoying outdoor activities without the intense heat of summer or the cooler, wetter days of winter. The skies are generally clear, providing excellent conditions for sightseeing and photography.

For those looking to enjoy the beaches and water sports, late spring and early autumn offer the superb balance of warm sea temperatures and fewer crowds compared to the peak summer season. The sea is inviting for swimming and other aquatic adventures, and you'll find it easier to secure a spot at popular beachfront cafes and restaurants.

If you're interested in cultural experiences and local festivals, spring often features various events celebrating Moroccan traditions.
