"The classic room we booked was very tired and dated. The walls, especially around switchesX were marked, worn and grubby. The bathroom was especially bad, dusty, mouldy and generally needs a refurb - I felt dirty using it! The decoration, fixtures and fittings were extremely dated. The carpets were marked and stained. The hallway was like a labyrinth, and creaked loudly as other guests walked down it past the room. The outlook was a rear court yard, very minimal natural light in the room. The room doors slam loudly, so between that and the hallway our sleep was disturbed often. The bed was average, small double - bedding was clean at least. We were charged £10 extra for a bed for our 2.5 year old son to sleep in. Nobody asked us how our visit was, even on check out. The rest of the hotel looks in need of a good clean and refurb."

"The cottage was part of a small gated complex. It was mid terrace and located a few miles out of Bury St Edmunds. There was a wildlife reserve and beautiful walks all around the property which were amazing if you enjoy these activities. The property was cosy, comfortable and had most things you would need for a self catering break. We enjoyed the ease of parking by the cottage and pretty grounds full of birds."
