  • Summary:

    THE LA JOLLA COTTAGE HAS JUST BEEN COMPLETELY REMODELED!



    This adorable beach cottage is located right at the famous Windansea Beach. It is perfect for a romantic getaway or just a zen retreat.



    Part of a duplex, it has its own private entrance and back patio.



    The Space:

    We started with replacing all the windows with new dual pane windows for more comfort.



    Then we replaced all the flooring with engineered wood in the living room and new tile in the bedroom and kitchen.



    We knocked down some walls around the kitchen making it wide open and able to look over the living room area.



    A breakfast nook was built in with comfortable seating and the kitchen has all new quartz counter tops, cabinets and new appliances.



    All the new appliances are LG and we now have a dishwasher - yay for that!



    We had insulation put in the ceiling for added warmth in winter and to help keep cool in the summer.



    There is AC and overhead fans also for your summer comfort.



    The interior was painted and new furniture purchased for the living room.



    The bathroom now has a walk in shower surrounded by new tiled walls and a new vanity.



    We offer all guests at this cottage a free fluff and fold service.



    The outside of the duplex has also been painted, with new outdoor furniture, a new propane bbq and a whole new fresh look!



    We are pet friendly and just a block away is a great bike path for walking the pups. Please note there is a pet fee associated with staying in the cottage.



    It is a simple stroll to the famous Windansea Beach and a short walk to lots of fun restaurants and bakeries.



    Walk right into town in less than 20 minutes and enjoy the dozens of restaurants, shops, antiques and art galleries that La Jolla has to offer.



    The La Jolla Cottage is a place that you won't want to leave and will want to come back every year... Come and experience San Diego in this beautifully updated Cottage.



    It is just a 5 minute walk until you are on the sand! We provide beach towels, beach chairs, umbrella, beach toys, boogie boards and beach wagon all for your enjoyment.



    Beach Cruiser Bikes are available upon request.



    There is off-street parking only.



    WiFi and cable are provided and there is a very comfortable queen size pull-out couch as well - with extra bedding.



    The back patio has a gas grill and offers lots of privacy.



    We are pet friendly and it is just a short walk to a lovely park and bike path where all the locals run the dogs.



    THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW:

    No Smoking is allowed inside any of our properties. You are welcome to smoke in outside areas of the home.



    ​​​​​​​The home is not equipped with a washer and dryer, however we do offer free FLUFF and FOLD service for all our guests staying at this cottage.



    This home is located in a quiet neighborhood and is only suitable for quieter groups. Our rental agreement includes a no tolerance policy regarding excessive noise, occupancy and/or parties. Deposit forfeitures and/or evictions are strictly enforced.



    For homes that allow pets there are certain rules that always apply. Pets are never to be left alone in the homes unattended. If you plan to spend time away from your pet please find a doggy daycare. You can call our office for recommendations.

    Guest Access:

    All guests will receive an email with check-in instructions prior to their arrival. These will include access instructions and a keypad code to gain access to the keys to enter the home.

LaJolla Vacation

The location of the property was very good for our family vacation and parking was not an issue for us. The property itself was a little dusty upon arrival and we had to clean off a few surfaces before settling in. A few light switches did not work, we had trouble with the cable of one of the TVs and we had a bit of trouble with the pull out couch before we were able to get it set up. Overall, it was a functional unit and met our needs.

Adorable beach cottage!!! Comfortable, clean and So perfect for dogs. It has a local neighborhood park and nearby walking trails that our pups loved. It has everything you need for a getaway and is ideally located. Highly recommend we would definitely stay there again.

La Jolla Cottage

We had a wonderful stay in the La Jolla Cottage. The updated kitchen and bathroom are beautifully done. Everything was clean and cozy. The kitchen is well equipped and you will have everything you need to cook during your stay. Like other reviews have stated, this rental does not have a washer and dryer on property.

Walking distance to beach in quiet neighborhood but very dated

Unit is walking distance to the beach and also to a few restaurants nearby. Kitchen is well stocked with all the equipment. Unit is very dated and worn out. Clean but that is pretty much table stakes. Not the most comfortable stay but has it’s merits too

Great location close to the beach

We had an amazing time staying in La Jolla. Our only complaint is that the listing says that there is a washer and drier. There is not. Also the listing says garage parking. There was only street parking.

Nice place

Overall a good place to stay outside the city of San Diego. They need to update property information that NO washer and dryer on site. However, they do free laundry which was a blessing! No trash bags in trash cans so we had to use things we had for trash.

Smelled like dogs and there was black dog hair on the floor, in the shower, up the walls of shower.

Photographs well, but smelly and dirty and small with an uncomfortable bed and a bathroom faucet that turns on by itself when the irrigation goes on.

Great location. Easy walk to Windansea Beach and many eateries, Nautica Tavern, Busy Bee Bagel Shop. Easy 10 minute drive to La Jolla Cove area. The Cottage was nice, but could use some touch up painting. If bringing pets be aware that the enclosed backarea is about 8x8. Pictures can be miss leading. Overall a nice property. 6 out of 10 rating.

Family Fun

We took a small family birthday trip to the ocean for a short week. The cottage was really close to the beach and was a super cute place to stay. Our kids were able to comfortably sleep on the couches without having to convert them to beds (the option was there, they just didn't want to.) We were a little confused with the trash and laundry situation because it was different than the instructions, but the management company was very responsive and we had no problems with either. The only tricky situation was finding a place for our dog to stay while we were at the beach or birthday restaurants between 9am and 6pm (dogs not allowed on the beach during those hours). There was an EXCELLENT doggy daycare nearby, so our fur baby made plenty of new friends in between fun with the family too. The complimentary drinks and candies were a nice touch, I loved the coconut smelling soaps provided, and there were cute little color coordinated touches inside and out. Overall, this was a great spot for a low key vacay. We'll be coming back in a future visit for sure.

Quaint!

We enjoyed staying in this quaint duplex in a quiet neighborhood. It was clean and a close walk to the beach. There’s only on street parking and no washer/dryer, however neither was an issue for us. Our small dog enjoyed the stay as well!

Great house great location

Perfect distance from beach: away from noise & crowds but easy 1/4 to 1/2 mile walk to beach or if you go east there is an excellent walk/bike trail with great views. The house is clean & has everything you need to cook and live comfortably. The back patio & fire pit is great for outside entertaining. The neighborhood is quiet at night and any party noise dies off at 9pm. Overall great experience & will definitely stay again

Perfect cottage for two.

My husband and i got married in La Jolla and stayed a week for a short little honeymoon. The cottage was perfect for us. It was really cute and very clean. The neighborhood is very quite at night and within walking distance to the beach,restaurants and shopping. The cottage has everything you need maybe just bring extra toilet paper. Lol The only thing i missed was our king size bed. But if you like to snuggle it will be perfect. We would rent this cottage again.

Cozy and perfect home

My adult daughter and I loved our stay. Communication and ease of booking was great and the home is decorated very nicely with all of the kitchen and household amenities including a welcome snack basket. Only 1.5 blocks to the beach and located in a quiet neighborhood it was just perfect for us. We loved our stay and will definitely look to book there again.

We will be back - missing it already!

Great location! We were able to walk to everything in LaJolla, and San Diego was just a short bus ride away - we decided not to rent a car, and this location made that possible. You could hear the waves, and the 1 block walk to the sunset each evening made the location perfect. We did have one issue, but it was responded to quickly. We will recommend this location to others, and might be back ourselves.

Such a cute house, very clean and so close to the beach. This is the first time I've stayed in a house that provides every type of kitchen supplies. We were able to cook some meals and enjoyed our stay. It was pet friendly and a dog park up the street and the beach was about a 5-7 min walk. The patio was great with a grill. It was perfect for a quiet and relaxing vacation with the pups. Thank you.

We were so happy with our stay. The property was recently renovated and very clean. The size of the house was very comfortable for our family of four (young children). The back patio was so cute and convenient. Lots of beach equipment and a great washer and dryer in the garage. Check in was a dream and the management was very responsive and helpful when I checked in a day early by mistake. Fabulous property and management!
