Awesome all the way!
The location couldn't be any better. The premises is clean upon arrival, the kitchen is well stocked with all necessary items one could need, and the view is unbelievable. It was less than 300 steps to the ocean water. Highly recommend this spot.

Amazing Location
The location of this property is amazing. The property itself is dated, but we were mostly there to sleep. Don’t recommend for babies/toddlers unless you bring a baby gate with you. The stairs are dangerous for 5 and under. The property management was very responsive and accommodating.

Great location
Was there to visit some colleges so the house was perfect in that we could walk to the beach to surf or hang out (literally 90 sec walk) or drive/walk down to Lajolla shores for a coffee food or or cocktail. Fun relaxed area. House is dated but a good rental. Position makes up for it. Views , position and clean.

Lovely spacious house close to the beach
Stayed here with friends/colleagues during a conference and it was perfect for us. Very spacious and kitchen is fully stocked. Listing was accurate. Host was attentive when any questions or minor problems arose such as the door code initially not working, and solved it quickly!

La Jolla Shores Beach House
House was in perfect location to beach and town. Nice set up and comfortable. Plenty of positives to the property; kitchen was good, living room comfortable, and beds were fine as well. Negatives include: you must fix the locks on all three sliding glass doors, fix the kitchen Dutch door lock, and there are zero beach chairs, beach beach items, etc to bring to the beach at a beach house. In full disclosure, the listing says no beach equipment.

The good location, lousy house
Lacked amenities one would expect but the real problem was condition of the house. Peeling stucco and paint, rust in refrigerator, outlets that didn't work, a TV with no sound, a table that collapsed during use, a bench that collapsed under me, and more. Much more. Just awful.

5 BR and 3 Baths was perfect for our group of 11. Upside down style house 1 block off the beach (5 minute walk) had great views without all the noise and traffic. House clean and well equipped.

Wonderful house. Amazing location.
Our family of 7 adults and 2 children had the best week. There’s something for everyone- surfing right outside, walk to coffee shops, restaurants, and walk or scooter to LaJolla coastal trails for hiking. and close to so manu options ie Zoo, Sea World etc. The home is really comfortable and met our every need. The only missing component was not having access to the garage or storage for our beach equipment and surf boards. Wonderful vacation.

Amazing Vacation
We visited San Diego in February and stayed in this house at La Jolla Shores. It was an absolute dream! The view is amazing and the layout was perfect for our family of 5 (kids 8, 6 and 3). We had a truly amazing family vacation and hope to be back soon!

Very quiet, Upscale Neighborhood- Easy walk to the beach. Very clean, with an outdoor shower, outdoor laundry, and faucet near steps to front door to wash feet off and keep house clean. It was only 3 of us, but we live in a big house, and found the size still perfect. Floor to ceiling windows, and beach and palm trees in the distance. The house itself is full of beautiful art, which was to our taste, and everything upscale, but super comfortable, and easy living. We never cooked there, but the kitchen was full of anything you needed to do so. Hot tub also spotlessly clean. The house itself is surrounded by lush foliage, so we weren't having to look at neighbors on either side, which we considered a plus- but was also tropical, and restful. We would love to come back here. Bluewater the management company, was excellent, and had a starter package with coffee and snacks. This was great after flying in from east coast. We were able to work easily during the 7 days we were here, and then go out for a stroll down the beach. Perfect. As I said, this is an upscale neighborhood, and not a party area. That isn't who we are, or what we wanted, so for us, it was great. Many thanks to the owners, and Bluewater for a fabulous week we will always remember!

Perfect Beach Vacation Home
We rented this home for a family reunion/birthday celebration. The house was very clean and well-equipped. We had four small children and I was concerned by all the reviews that talked about noise issues and complaints. We heard nothing from the property managers about noise and they were extremely responsive - reaching out frequently to check if everything was OK. No complaints whatsoever about the house. The location is excellent!

Amazing Location, Everything Else Was Below Average
We had such a weird, mixed experience with our stay here. I'll start with the good. The location was phenomenal - a short walk to the beach with ocean views from your main living space. I don't feel like the photos do this feature of the house justice. We liked the overall layout of the house - how the kitchen flowed into the dining and living and how there were bedrooms upstairs and downstairs. We also really enjoyed the hot tub and outdoor shower. Now the average/bad. This rental is run by a separate agency (Vrbo won't let me list the name), which we were not a huge fan of. Their communication was always done outside of Vrbo and included a hefty rules/regulations PDF that we were required to complete/sign along with a large (over two thousand dollar) security deposit. It made us uncomfortable since it was all done outside of Vrbo. They were VERY pesty about both of these items but were lax with other communication terms, including the fact that they have audio monitors set up throughout the home that are triggered by decibels. We received harsh texts and even a call during our stay telling us we need to be quiet late at night when we were all asleep (we later determined that it must have been the wind causing the noise). But this experience made us very uncomfortable during our stay even though we were a very quiet/chill group. I've never had an experience like this before and I've rented many Vrbos etc. We were anxious our whole stay. The house itself feels like a rental house from the flooring to the furniture. For the location and price, I was expecting it to be a little higher end than it was - and I don't consider myself a picky person at all in this regard. Also, one of the garbage cans wasn't emptied upon our arrival, which isn't a big deal at all, but I felt it reflected some of the care for the place overall. I hope these thoughts help someone else. This is the first sub-5-star review I've ever left. Most of it is due to the weird communication, noise monitors that were trigged by things outside of our control and the place feeling a bit like a beat-up rental. But you truly can't beat the location for the price. So if you set your other expectations accordingly, I think it will still be a good stay for you. I'd probably try somewhere else next time myself.

We sincerely apologize your overall experience was anything less than perfect, for that is what we always strive for. We try to be as clear as possible regarding the terms for the rentals as well as the decibel monitors. Because of past less-than respectful guests, and that this home is in a neighborhood with many full-time residents, we were compelled to install decibel meters to notify guests if noise was being disruptive outside after hours. In this case, apparently there were some strong winds that were setting off the detector. We have adjusted the sensitivity to address the issue. We have since removed the mandatory security deposit outside of VRBO, however we still require a docusign agreement signed that touches on important points on the rental agreement. We hope you understand that when a homeowner entrusts us to rent their home, we have a responsibility to ensure that our guests are respectful of the home and neighbors. Just as important though, is our responsibility to ensure our guests are 100% satisfied, and in this case it seems we could have done better. We have passed along your feedback to our team to address any outstanding issues and we certainly hope you choose to stay with us again and give us the opportunity to impress you with our service, as we have done with so many other guests. Beautiful location! The property has everything in the listing, it is clean and functional. There are A LOT of signs inside the property of things you cannot do. They are very strict with noise levels, even texting us at 1040pm threatening to fine us and call local law enforcement. We were there for a girls retreat with my mom and her sisters (all over 70) so noise complaints were unfounded. After we called and complained they ‘realized’ it was the shades screens that were making the noise. I wish they would verify, since it was very uncomfortable feeling like we couldn’t even talk.

Super convenient and right on the beach.
Property management was amazing when the AC went out. The guys worked for a long time getting the air into each room with individual coolers. It didn’t quite keep the house cool but the effort was respected and very much appreciated. Bring more towels if you have kids and plan on showering daily after the beach. The house was fully stocked but kids slept outside on day 2 because they were so hot and we got in trouble for being loud. If we had air we would of stayed our fourth night and hoping we get a discount for the AC challenge. We do appreciate the contact with the management and they did the best they could but it was too hot without central air for three families with teens.

A Get-Away for the Whole Family
If you are planning a vacation for your entire extended family (children and grandchildren), this home is ideal. This is especially true if you have toddler or infant children or grandchildren. The neighborhood is quiet and the accommodations are ideal. What is especially helpful is the concierge service that will rent you cribs and baby gates and just about anything else you may need. It is right there on the beach and there is a wonderful playground a short 3 minute walk away. The house is clean and well maintained and our property manager could not have been more helpful. Overall it was a wonderful experience and I will rent from this group again.

Fantastic house by the beach
