Waterfront relaxing, getaway. Small, clean, warm cabin.

Cozy waterfront cabin with sleeping loft (queen bed) and extra bed in living area (futon). 450 sq feet. Stunning sunsets from this delightful waterfront cabin located among graceful Fir trees and Madronas - home to Eagles, Osprey, Woodpeckers, ducks, seagulls and otters. Take a walk down the unique, hand-hewn driftwood stairs to the rocky beach, or build a fire in the fire pit and relax while watching the sun set. One guest said, 'This is like living in a National Forest on the water.'

This is the perfect setting for romance or a quiet best-friends getaway. There is nothing quite so pleasant as sitting around the firepit, rain or shine, watching the sun set, grilling steak or roasting schmoors.

Inside, the loft hosts a queen bed. Additional sleeping area is in the combination kitchen, living-room on a comfortable double futon - all with views to the water through the native-landscaped yard.

The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful, particularly on weekends. The best of the Pacific Northwest: tall Firs, Madronnas, and Cedar trees filled with birdlife.

Downtown La Conner is known for its antiquing, fine restaurants and local artists.

So, bring your s'mores and hot dogs, jeans and flip-flops for a day (or a week or a month - we encourage longer-term renters too) at the beach. Step back to a tranquil and simpler place and time.

PET OWNERS: Pet must be pre-approved. Pet is not allowed on furniture or bedding. Each pet is $100.00 for two or three nights. Stays longer than three nights may incur an additional fee. Pets must be under 20 lbs and non-shedding. Non-adherence to this policy may result in forfeiture of your deposit. We may, at our discretion, charge and additional $20 to clean if there is pet odors in the house after check out.

The Driftwood Cabin is located across Skagit Bay from the Whidby Island Naval Air Station. The Navy/Airforce practice formations during the week. Sometimes they are over La Conner, other times they are further south or north and we don't hear them. They do not fly Friday night, Saturday or Sunday. Some folks enjoy the formations, other don't like the noise. We want you to be informed as we never know when, or if, they will be flying (except NOT on weekends.)

After your reservation has been confirmed directions will be made available to you through VRBO one week prior to check in.

Adorable little cabin

My friend and I loved this cabin! It was perfect for what we wanted and had everything we needed. The steps down to the beach were awesome. It’s about a 5 minute drive to downtown LaConner. All around terrific experience!

Getaway cabin of our dreams

Location is idyllic, literally steps from the bay with views from all windows. Zero boats or activity on the water; super peaceful. Neighborhood is quiet with with nice homes, many lived in year round. Cabin was comfortable with all amenities. Sleeping loft is a little difficult to navigate in the middle of the night, but not too bad. Hostess was very responsive to any questions. Great stay, super relaxing. Would definitely book again, for a longer time!

Cute cabin

The loft has a ladder to the lower floor, so if you have to pee in middle of night that sucks. The stairs to the beach are a little sketchy, needs to be vacuumed or dusted.. but what do you expect in a cabin. Overall a cute little beach cabin in a cute town, wouldn't recommend for elderly people or mobility challenged

Post Christmas getaway

Lovely and charming cabin with a beautiful view! Great location to get to lovely day hikes or some shopping in La Conner. Very responsive property manager: when we arrived, the gas fireplace wasn’t working. She came right over with a portable radiant heater and when unable to get the gas fireplace to light, brought another electric heater. Place was comfortable for the duration of our stay. We would love to return in the summer to be outside and soak in the view! Thank you

Amazingly cozy slice of the PNW

The space is so wonderful. The weather was a mix of sunny and a little stormy during the stay and the cabin was a great spot through both. During the cooler parts of my stay, the wood stove did an amazing job of keeping the cabin toasty. I cannot get over how nice it was to wake up to sun lighting up the water which could be through the large windows of the cabin. If you’re looking for a place to step away from the city and enjoy the breeze swaying the trees and the sounds of peaceful waves, I would highly recommend staying here. Judy, the host/manager, was also great! She offered an earlier check in and gave some insight on the forecast to prep my expectations. 10/10 would definitely stay again.

Phenomenal Stay!!

Absolutely phenomenal experience! I can’t express how outgoing the host was. Best communication in my VRBO experiences. We spent Christmas here and the views were great and we were able to experience snow for Christmas. Next time we’lll get that 4-wheel drive as recommended. Unfortunately, our rental was not able to get out initially. But, the neighbors were so outgoing and help us get out and on our way they spent time in the cold helping us shovel and were incredibly friendly. That was so unexpected and appreciated. The property manager reached out multiple times as the weather rolled in and as we were running into issues. It was comforting to know we had a backup plan if needed. We’re planning a return trip in a few months and I can’t wait.

We booked this property as part of plans to celebrate a weekend January birthday. The cabin was as pictured and described. It is very rustic and small located on a quiet location right on the water and very close to La Conner. The beach is beautiful and if the weather had been as expected, my review would likely be different. However, the weekend temperatures were below freezing with a night time low of only 11 degrees, The small propane fireplace in the cabin couldn't keep up with the low outside temperature. We slept in 2 layers of clothing, had to bring in down sleeping bags from the car and kept hats on all night to stay warm. The cabin is older and not well insulated. The single pane glass windows frosted over from the inside during our stay. The thermostat never registered more than ~ 50 degrees. We skipped showering & left early due to cold indoor temperature. The owner was apologetic and suggested they could have brought over additional heaters. To be fair, we left before contacting them but I don't know this would have helped the situation. We spent a very cold night and I didn't see that we would have a relaxing day by the water as planned. Overall, it was a disappointing, uncomfortable experience I imagine the cabin is pleasant during warmer weather but I would not recommend booking unless outdoor temperatures are greater than 45 F.

Great Cabin on the water!

A really great property on the water for a couple and pet or 2 couples!My partner and I loved our stay with our puppy. The walk down to the water is easy and the neigborhood is very quiet and private. A very close drive to town!The kitchen was nice to use and the ameninites were all great. Communication with Judy was easy and she was very kind. Loved staying here!

Great for young families

The main bed is in the loft and the steep angle of the roof makes getting into bed an adventure as we are over 70. Cabin was ok but a few cobwebs and some dog hair on loft floor.

Lovely little cabin!

Fun and beautiful stay overlooking the bay. Very small, so definitely not for a big crowd but cozy and fun. Bice area too and fairly easy to find even in the dark. Thank you!

Awesome spot! Great for the our water-loving dog!

We adored our stay at the tiny house. The location is beautiful and we spent many mornings sitting on the logs at high tide while the dog played in the water. The house itself is definitely tiny as advertised, but well organized and provisioned. And it's a sweet little neighborhood - the folks we met were all very friendly. The propane oven is bit tricky to use, so I wouldn't recommend any temperature-sensitive baking projects unless you're used to working with that style of oven.

Driftwood Cabin

It's a nice clean cozy cabin experience. It is nestled in trees with good views of the water and islands in the bay. Wish my kitchen had this view! Beach access is available down a steep but manageable trail with rope and driftwood hand holds.

Serenity

My daughter and I stayed for a girl's get-a-away. It was just what we needed! The cabin was perfect, the view amazing, and we had all the amenities we needed to make our stay comfortable. We walked the quiet little neighborhood, had an outdoor fire, sat on the beach, and relaxed in the hammock. It was just a short drive to town to peruse the shops and walk along the waterfront. We look forward to coming back someday. Thank you for sharing such a beautiful space for us to whine down and have some R&R.
