Stayed for 6 nights. The hotel is about 1100 steps away from Kyoto Station and less from Shichijo station according to my Fitbit. I consider it a borderline case for walkability. Walk the right path and you'll find 2 convenient stores and several vending machines on your way to the hotel from Kyoto Station, so resupplying after a long day out wasn't an issue.
The hotel itself is like a traditional business hotel with support for pets. There was a manga corner, a lounge, and 2 pay-to-use laundry machines.
Staff was helping and friendly but apparently a number of them were on training.
I stayed at one of the solo eco rooms, which means I didn't get any cleaning for the duration of the stay which was fine by me. Everything is pretty standard and as advertised including full amenity kits, a TV, a bathtub and an automated toilet, but there weren't any bathrobes.
The main gripe I have with my room is the cleanliness aspect. When I first inspected the room, there were apparently food crumbles on the table, random stains on the walls, and there was a brown stain on one of the bath towels. What's worse, when I switched on the heating, it smelled really bad and upon closer inspection, I found mold inside the AC. I don't know if it's just an eco room thing.
Considering the locale, the service, and amenities, I would've totally given it a 4/5 if not for the cleanliness of my room.
