We booked at the last minute and our options were limited, next time I might prefer to be in the city center, but this is conveniently located next to the “Bone Church”. May 2016 St. Barbora's Church, Kutná Hora, Czech republic The Roman Catholic Cathedral dedicated to Saint Barbora is a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1995. It was built in Kutná Hora town in Central Bohemia during the days when it was the most important silver mining place in Czech kingdom. The building began in 1388 and it was finished in 1558 when the mining ceased to be profitable. Actually it was not initiated by any church institution but it was a representative chappel building sponsored by wealthy towns men and dedicated to patron saint of miners, the saint Barbara. In 17th century it has received Baroque elements and from 1884 to 1905 its current Neogothic puristic appearance including the western facade and three tent-like roofs. #unesco

The Sedlec Ossuary is located beneath the Cemetery Church of All Saints in the Czech Republic. Its origin story is a long one, beginning with an abbot in 1278 who sprinkled dirt from the Holy Land over the Sedlec cemetery. This act prompted a huge influx of people who wanted to be laid to rest there. The cemetery's popularity, as well as factors such as wars and the Black Plague, caused an excess of bodies to be delivered and buried. Skeletons were exhumed and stacked over time in the chapel beneath the church. In 1870, a woodcarver named František Rint was hired to organize the skeletons, and he created the macabre designs that now make up the ossuary. #History

"Very clean, spacious family room. We had a small kitchen which proved very useful as there aren't many places open for an evening meal (seem to be open for main meals at lunchtime) but it's very close a a really good supermarket. Helpful staff. Pretty town to explore, good brewery/restaurant close by. Easy walking distance to the train station which gets you to Kutna Hora and Prague. "
