  • May 2016 Italian Court, Kutná Hora, Czech republic The Italian Court (Czech: Vlašský dvůr) is a palace in Kutná Hora. Originally, it was the seat of the Central Mint of Prague; it was named after the Italian experts who were at the forefront of the minting reform. The main area of the mint consisted of coin-makers-workshops, or Smithies, which were located around the courtyard, and the minting chamber, called “Preghaus”, where the Prague groschen were struck. After its reconstruction at the end of the 14th century, the Italian Court became a part-time Royal residence of Czech kings. Kutná Hora hosted the most important silver mines in the land from 14th to 16th century and the Prague groschen coin was the unified money instrument from 1300 to 1537 in the whole kingdom. The importance of the Mint and Kutná Hora has ceased in 16th century due to the cheaper import of silver from South America.

Excellent location, nice terrace with great view. Breakfast OK. No parking directly at the hotel site but quite easy to find free spot with within short walking distance to the hotel.

Magical view of Kutna Hora

Clean hotel stay with the most beautiful view of St. Barbara Cathedral and the town below. It's situated no more than a 5 minute walk from St. Barbara, at the start of the bridge leading to the cathedral. It's a one minute walk to the silver mine museum. The staff was very accommodating and kind. The included breakfast was continental along with some freshly scrambled eggs and ham. There is also a restaurant that provides the same view as the hotel, absolutely stunning. Would definitely book again!

This property is located right on the pedestrian walk with views to St. Barbara’s Cathedral. The hotel has high ceilings throughout and a very old world feel. We loved our stay here.

Breakfast with a View

Location is great, parking in sister hotel only 5 minutes away, and the next morning, you can have breakfast with an incredible view. All this for a great price.

Pokoje by potřebovaly rekonstrukci, doplnit nábytek v předsíni, žaluzie vyměnit. Jinak dobré vybavení, konvice, větrák..Snídaně průměrná. Výhled úžasný.

Dejligt centralt hotel midt i den gamle bydel.

Jeg havde bestilt et dobbeltværelse, men fik en lille lejlighed med 4 sovepladser, meget flot. Eneste problematik er at der ikke er parkeringspladser ved hotellet, så jeg var nødt til at finde en parkeringsplads på gaden.
