My colleagues and I had a very pleasant stay. We stayed for 4 nights. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff were available when needed at all times and were all very helpful. Their airport shuttle was waiting for us on arrival and dropped us back in good time. We will stay again.

I think the property is lovely. The staff was very polite and accommodating. The room had all of the necessary amenities to ensure a pleasant stay. I will recommend it with an honest report of concerns: 1) It appeared that staff did not have thorough training in the hospitality industry, particularly in food management. 2) The lack of availability of food and beverage menu items was unacceptable. 3) Adherence to dining hours was unacceptable. For example, if the breakfast buffet was said to be available at 8, the food wasn’t ready to serve then. 4) The toaster didn’t work. 5) There wasn’t butter and jam available for bread or sugar or honey or walnuts, etc. available for oatmeal, etc. While those may seem like small things, they are important if you want to grow the business beyond the region to include more international travelers.

The property is newly built (within 5 years) and it is extremely clean and well appointed. The staff are all friendly and welcoming. I had a delicious fresh breakfast in the morning. The pool and gym are a lovely surprise too! And the ice machine is a bonus… The room has a strong air conditioning unit that kept the room a great temperature. This lodge is an oasis in Kumasi. I booked a second night for when I return to Kumasi.

Due to ongoing road construction, city authorities asked that we do empty the pool water into the drains in front of the hotel where the road is being worked on. We booked 2 nights at Frederick's Lodge. After checking in (around noon) we noticed loud construction. The gentleman at the front desk offered to change our room but the sound could be heard throughout the hotel. We were assured that the construction only occurred during the middle of the day. That evening we went to the restaurant. When we asked for a menu, we were told there was "no menu" and we should just ask for what we wanted. We asked for a pastry were told they could only do pancakes or a fruit cup. The following morning we were woken up by loud hammering at 8:30. We went to the front desk and asked to check out immediately. After some back and forth the manager agreed to allow us to check out and get a refund for our second night. We were told to call Expedia to change the reservation. We went back to our room changed our flight and called Expedia. While talking with Expedia we received a phone call on the hotel phone from another manager (the supervisor of the manager on-duty) saying that construction would stop. We reminded him that we had already been told we could check out by the hotel staff and our flights were changed already. Eventually, Expedia told us they needed to reach out to the hotel directly to approve the refund. Expedia contacted the hotel but the managed denied the refund. Stay away from this hotel. Management is dishonest.

Thank you for your review.We are naturally disappointed with your score. A)CONSTRUCTION ISSUEThe hotel is being renovated, and signs are clearly posted throughout. Upon check in, Mr. Abraham and his guest were informed that there would be some building work taking place between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. each day. They acknowledged this and went into their room, where they spent the night without incident.They went out after breakfast the next day, and work at the hotel began at 10:00 a.m., not 8:30 a.m. as they had stated. They returned to the hotel after noon, around 12:15pm, and they complained about the construction noise. The manager offered to change their room with an upgrade and further away from the construction area, but they declined. The General Manager was notified, and as a means to keep them happy the General Manager told the construction workers to halt for the day. Furthermore Mr. Abraham and his guest were offered free lunch, but they insisted on checking out and demanded a refund.To recap:1)Mr Abraham was offered a room upgrade and a move away from the construction area2)Construction was halted for the rest of their stay3)Mr Abraham was offered a complimentary meal..4)Expedia representatives that contacted the General Manager felt that Fredericks Lodge had worked hard to keep Mr Abraham and agreed that the hotel had done all it could to achieve a reasonable compromise.We suspect that Expedia quite rightly have refused to offer a refund to Mr Abraham, hence the poor review.B)MENUAs a small hotel we provide a menu du jour, providing freshly cooked meals. Should guests require something else we offer them a variety of choices from local restaurants and have those meals delivered to guests. We are proud of the quality of service that we offer our guests, and the overwhelming majority of visitors both locally and internationally, agree with us, and have rated Fredericks Lodge the Number One hotel in Kumasi.

It was refreshingly quite nice. Good quality building nicely kept rooms, very comfortable bed, friendly staff and superb customer service! Very good breakfast but limited options for vegetarians. There is construction going on outside, but it did not deter from the experience. I Highly recommend this hotel!

Stayed at this lovely hotel for 4 nights. The staff are very friendly and are happy to go out of their way for you. The rooms are very well presented and the bed was very comfy. As the hotel is close to the Kumasi Mall it makes it a very good spot to be. Will be visiting again when back in Kumasi and fingers crossed that is soon.

Customer Excellence
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Frederick’s Lodge. The location, our room, the pool and food were amazing. The cherry on top of this amazing stay was the staff. Every staff member provided excellent customer. They were helpful in answering all queries, helping us with our luggage and even ordering us food when the hotel restaurant was closed. Fredericks lodge is my new home in Kumasi now and I’ll be recommending it moving forward.

It’s not exactly as advertised. The roads to the lodge is terrible and you will need some form of SUV or large vehicle just in case it rains. There is free parking. The lodge doesn’t offer free pick up from the airport so you will have to find your own way to get to the location which to me is not god customer service. There are many locations or hotels around who will offer a free airport pick up but when I booked my flight and called on to see if I could be picked up at the airport I was told it came with a fee which was interesting to me. I think that should be free and at no charge, so I ended up having to book a rental instead since I was going to be in Kumasi for a few days. Got to the lodge, check in was smooth, the first mistake was the receptionist assigning me to a room which was already booked and had a guest in it. Finally the room is taken care off, overall impression about the room was it’s nice but then I realized it was small, shower pressure was low. The beds have tires under them so they kept drawing off the headboard, the bathroom had just one tissue paper stocked in the toilet, but over all it was a decent mini room. I stay for a day and I go back to check my reservation then I realize the room I paid for wasn’t the one assigned to me. Talked to the receptionist about it, had to involve the manager before eventually it was changed after I had stayed for 2 days. How do you check a customer in to the wrong room? Standard and superior are 2 different words?

Dear sir, we strive to give all our guests a great experience and make them feel at home and it is unfortunate you feel this way. Nowhere on our website have we falsely advertised our property. What we advertise is what we offer and our pictures on the website are what you actually get and not doctored. As such we would appreciate it if you would let us know where you feel the advertising was wrong. Kindly note that we do not provide free airport shuttle, it comes at a fee like some hotels both local and international and it is for our clients to decide whether to make use of the service or not. With regards to there being a guest in your room, you arrived earlier than the 2:00pm check-in time and had to wait to be checked in as the guest from the previous night was still in the room and had not checked out. The guest had to check out and the room prepared, readied and sanitized before you could check-in at 2:00pm. This was explained to you upon your arrival at the hotel so it is surprising that you would make such a statement. Your reservation was for a Superior room and that was exactly what you were assigned hence our confusion as to why you would think you were given a wrong room. Even then, when you addressed the issue with the Hotel Manager, you were upgraded to a Deluxe room FOR FREE as part of the hotel’s commitment to good customer service. The bedrails do have tyres for easy movement and are locked when in use. We will look into why it was not locked and ensure it does not happen again. Free toiletries (bath soap/gel, shampoo, body lotion, shower caps, toothpaste, toothbrush, toilet tissue roll) are provided in every room and are replenished upon request. Every bathroom is stocked with a full roll of tissue roll as done in hotels around the world and if you needed extras a call to the reception desk or housekeeping would have sorted out your request. Lastly, the road leading to the Hotel is about 100m of untarred road which is motorable and we have not had a complaint from our guests of a vehicle breakdown on the road. The city has plans to upgrade the road and we are waiting on them to make good their word. We appreciate all our guests and we do hope this explanation is satisfactory.

Well managed and well-maintained facility. By Kumasi standards, the establishment offers very good value. Whilst the rooms are very decent, don't expect an elaborate breakfast buffet or an extensive a la carte menu at the restaurant. This is a mid-range facility with a thoughtful, but not extensive, range of services. They take checking out at 12 noon very seriously even when they are not busy. They keep calling and calling and send people to pound on the door until you vacate. Staff are courteous and attentive otherwise though. Location is fairly close to the airport and very close to the main mall in the city. The immediate surroundings are not plush but safe. For a business trip, I will recommend this facility. Less so, if you are looking for a luxury holiday getaway.

Was such a great experience, we cancelled our other reservations and stayed another night at Fredrick's Lodge! The beds are so comfortable, the water is drinkable from the shower, the manager is top-notch and makes you feel at home, and the owner cares for his place and you can see it. I would suggest this to anyone for a short term or long term stay. Very safe, easy access, quiet area, just perfect!

Clean Hotel, Great location.
We really enjoyed the stay. The hotel is located less than 15mins from the Airport. The room was comfortable, the mattresses were really Cozy and the hotel was very clean and modern. The staff was friendly and professional. The roof top bar gives a nice view of the city. The only regret was not getting to use the pool

We are sorry you feel this way about the lack of an elevator however no where in our marketing info have we made any claims about having an elevator. Our guest rooms are located on the 1st and 2nd floors a flight or 2 from the ground floor. Great place to stay
One of the best places to stay. Very friendly staff and delicious breakfast options. You can also eat during the day or have dinner at the hotel. Unfortunately the Wi-Fi did not work and started to work again on our last morning. That was the only minus point. The room was cozy and clean. The cleaning staff came every day to refresh the room. There is a clean pool, a rooftop terrace. And you’ll get free shampoo, soap and shower gel.
