Awesome property and location
Property was even better than advertised. Highly recommend esp for boogie boarding, beach activities. Loved the outdoor shower! House is great. Spent one whole day just relaxing on property itself. Neighborhood was quiet and worked out well, some rentals and some local residents and a good balance of each with a pleasant vibe. Host expectations were friendly and communicated clearly. We were grateful for their logistics support for checking in and out and the rental really made our stay in Kauai special. :)

The perfect beach cottage
We adore this place! It's light and airy with plenty of room and with places to curl up and read, doze or just enjoy the island cross breezes. The location is perfect- just a couple minute walk over to several terrific beaches. If you forget something (like binoculars to watch the whales) it's a quick skip back to pick them up. The king-sized bed is very comfortable and both bedrooms have fans and air conditioners if it's too warm. The decor is simple and uncluttered yet we had everything we needed, even a teapot! Pam is a gracious host, most accommodating, and she even dropped off a couple avocados which we devoured. When we stayed last year, another couple stayed a couple days with us and the setup worked just fine for four. You can't do better than this!

Poipu perfection
We have been staying in Poipu since 1972. This cottage was by far the most charming and comfortable spot we’ve been to. It’s in the heart of poipu beach but feels very quiet and secluded. The amenities are outstanding and we can’t wait to return!

Fabulous!
This property easily lives up to it's billing as a 5 Star accommodation. It is clean, modern, well appointed, spacious and is close to the beach. It has everything you could need for a great holiday. Communication with the host was excellent.

Family of 4…
This was a delightful place to stay for our family of 4. The location was great and the property was exactly (if not better) as advertised. When you walk the 2 minutes to the beach, you are at the park between 2 amazing beaches. To the left is Brenneke’s and to the right is Poipu. Each day there were turtles. We also were lucky enough to watch a seal come sunbathe on shore. There were no issues that required to connect with Pam, but instructions were easy and quick.

Not our typical
This was our 4th trip to Kauai and this one was long overdue. We fly from the east coast on the mainland and typically enjoy staying Kilauea where it's quiet and off the beaten path. We decided to start out closer this time (first 4 nights of our stay) to the airport due to the long flight. This cottage ended up being just about perfect. Love the layout, big well equipped kitchen (we like to cook), screened in lanai and excellent proximity to many things we enjoy doing on the island. All amenities very good and the bedrooms/beds comfy and cozy. We really enjoyed being able to walk to Poipu beach in 2 mins as the cottage is very close to a lot of the action there, but when spending time in the cottage was nice and quiet. Property is very beautiful. In the past we've never stayed in a place that had AC, but were thankful it had bedroom units as the cottage really warms up during the day. By mid-day it was quite warm, so turning on the unit in the bedroom a few hours before bedtime made it very comfortable to sleep. They're a bit noisy but, oh well. Overall we loved this place and when we return in the future would strongly consider renting it again.

This house was exactly what we expected. The house itself was clean and had everything we needed. We also liked the items it had such as beach towels, beach chairs, umbrellas, etc. The air conditioning in the bedrooms was nice as it allowed us to sleep comfortably at night. The location of the house was perfect, it was a very short walk to the beach and just a short drive to Koloa which has many shops and restaurants. This house was the perfect place for our vacation and we hope to stay here again when we return to Kauai.

The VRBO description is accurate. Quiet street 100 yards from the beach. Well appointed kitchen for making meals at home. A/C in bedrooms is great as it gets hot in the afternoon. Has all the stuff you need for the beach and an outside shower. Would come back

Practically perfect in every way - thanks Mary Poppins
We had an AMAZING time staying here. We felt like we were staying in our own home and not a rental property. The house and furnishings are comfortable and clean, the kitchen is completely stocked and updated, and it's equipped with everything you could possibly need. The ceiling fans keep the house comfortable even when the temperature is high, there is air conditioning in both bedrooms and a ceiling fan in the lanai making it comfortable to use at any time of day. The location to the beach is out of this world, literally steps from Brennecke and Poipu. The four Tommy Bahama beach chairs were in great condition. There were coolers, beach bags, a sun umbrella and tons of beach towels. Full washer and dryer were nice to have and there were so many places to sit and relax from the living room, lanai, patio, back yard, and front porch. There is a private outdoor shower equipped with a foot wash spigot, shower and all with hot water so you are very comfortable as you rinse off before coming back into the house. Pam has truly done a great job of creating a warm, home-like environment that you want to come back to.

Perfect Poipu Cottage!
Our family loved our trip. The owner was great with communication and every detail was thought out - from the great stocked (and modern) kitchen, grill and outdoor dining, lovely lanai with fan where we spent so much time, outdoor shower and beautiful decor, we were so happy. And we loved we could walk to the beaches, Puka dog, and other restaurants. Would definitely return!

Unbeatable location, Old Hawaii Feel
We loved this little cottage. It has the feel of a traditional, simple, yet very well appointed beach house. Our family of 3 (and a 4th for the last couple days of our trip) had plenty of room and one bathroom worked just fine. The screened in porch was great for early mornings and evenings hanging out. Plenty of beach toys and a handy wagon to tote them the 1 1/2 blocks to two beach options. Great place to stay!

Just got home yesterday from an incredible 4 week stay at the Poipu Yellow Cottage after two years of planning! We were so very blessed to stay here! First, communication with owner Pam has been excellent! She is very helpful and gracious and gives prompt replies! The cottage itself is beautiful, very comfortable, and has everything you need. There is a grocery store, Big Save Market, just a short distance away in Koloa. But for major grocery shopping go to Safeway in Lihue. This comfortable cottage is only a few minutes walk to gorgeous Poipu Beach, as well as Brennecke Beach, and is a great location for the rest of the island. Take a couple mile walk to Shipwreck beach in the morning and enjoy magnificent sunsets at Poipu Beach in the evening! Swim and snorkel in the safe Poipu Beach bay. Very family friendly. Daily saw Green Sea Turtles and endangered Monk Seals on the beach. Saw Hump Whales breaching and spouting. Neighbors -- both vacationers but especially those who live there -- were very nice. We ate all our meals at the small table in the attached screened lanai just off the dining room. So enjoyable to sit there and is quite private. Enclosed shower in bathroom was large. Each bedroom has an air conditioner and the one we stayed in had a cozy king-sized bed and closet. Every room of the house except the bathroom has an overhead fan to keep air circulating. If we ever return to beautiful Kauai, this is where we would hope to stay! Thank you, Pam!

Gem of a property at a gem of a location
Images and description do not do this fabulous cottage justice. The kitchen is fully equipped and we 3 friends cooked almost each evening. The cottage is well sized and organized, separate washing/drying room, outdoor shower with beach gear provided. A cute patio, spacious dining & living room and well sized double bedrooms and bathroom. The house and garden were extremely clean. Located within a few minutes walk to a beach where turtles rest for the evening and seals take their naps. A restaurant/bar/deli place is also only a few minutes walk away which serves good food. We highly recommend this cottage and all 3 of us would stay there again.

This historic cottage is a wonderful place to stay because it is very private and quiet. The dead end street minimizes car traffic and car noise. It also provides a 2 minute walk to the beach. The cottage also provides lots of room to live. A great kitchen and a screened in porch for additional space and privacy. We will return again!

As described..one block off of Brennecke's beach. Quiet neighborhood even though there were more rentals on the block. AC in bedroom, completely screened lanai but you will have a few bugs at least in the lanai as the door is not a snug fit but it does keep the skeeters out. Washer/dryer bonus...the host is nice enough to provide Kirkland brand products we brought our own as we do not like the Kirkland scent. Good stay.

Perfect property with an ideal location!
We just returned from our stay in Kauai and we will be dreaming of our time there for years to come! This property was the perfect place for us to stay for us and our one year old daughter. The property was beautifully decorated and had everything you needed including beach toys and a beach wagon! Plenty of items to cook with as well! Additionally both the owner and property manager were very responsive. We experienced rather warm days while there and the AC units in the bedrooms worked just fine to keep the place cool. It's truly a half block from Poipu Beach which is especially a perfect spot for small kiddos due to the protected cove that makes the water calmer and it's rather shallow. Brenecke Beach is just as close and has bigger waves and is deeper. I cannot rave about this VRBO rental enough! It will only enhance your stay in Kauai!

Cute little oasis!
I stayed here with a friend for a destination wedding that was happening down the street and the location was perfect! It is less than a five minute walk to the ocean and beaches where you can watch all the sea turtles come ashore or boogie board/snorkel alongside them. The outdoor shower and screened in porch were my favorite features about the house besides the location and ease of parking two cars behind the house. Even though neighbors are nearby it was a really peaceful and private location. The bedrooms are the only part of the house that have a/c units and provided excellent conditions for sleeping with white noise to drown out the rooster calls. The rest of the house could be cooled fairly quickly, by opening the windows/ doors (screened in) and making sure the many ceiling fans were running, allowing a nice breeze to go through the house. There is only one toilet, so keep that in mind when considering your group size/needs. The kitchen had pretty much anything you can think of needing to use to prepare a meal at the house. And there are at least two restaurants within a five to ten minute walk from the house. I also appreciated all the lighting options, with dimmer switches in most of the rooms. The property owner/manager was really communicative, and I appreciated them having a feedback form available to continue improving the experience at their home. I also made use of the yoga mat and hair dryer that was provided. I will definitely stay here again if my travels bring me back this way! Thank you!

Perfect Beach House Getaway
Everything about this rental is wonderful! It has plenty of room where the 4 of us enjoyed the screened lanai at breakfast, the outdoor BBQ area at dinner, the front room for playing guitar & talking, the front porch for morning coffee.. The decor is beautiful & in great condition, bedrooms have air conditioners & ceiling fans if needed & the outdoor shower is fun & refreshing! Perfect location to beautiful beaches just a few steps away, places to explore & beach restaurant was a lot of fun too. Would absolutely return here again & again!!

Charming Cottage in Excellent Location
This property is well appointed, very comfortable and quiet. The location is superb. In less than a 10-minute walk you are on the beach where the sea turtles come up to rest at sunset and return to sea at dawn. We enjoyed our stay very much and recommend it to couples and small families.

What a charming and perfect Plantation cottage only 3 houses away from Poipu Beach! Hubby and I had such a great time. The location is perfect, the house is immaculate, clean and well equipped with everything you need, including all beach equipment with a wagon! Amazing house so close to beautiful beaches
We absolutely loved this house, it is so cute and clean and a very short walk to the beach! Everything was so convenient! We did not want to leave and will for sure be staying at this house again! Love love love. The bedrooms were so comfortable with the ac units and fans. We couldn't hear any outside noise and were nice nice and comfortable. It was a perfect place for my husband and I and our two kids.

Perfect family vacation
We had a wonderful time at the poipu beach house. The house had everything we needed for our family of three (my husband, myself and our two year old daughter). The house had everything we needed for a comfortable stay with a little one: a pack n play crib, a booster seat, and wagon (which our little one enjoyed riding to the beach). The bathroom had a shower, which is great for us adults but our daughter is used to baths… no problem! The farm sink in the kitchen is perfect for bathing babies! The lanai was a great place to relax. The outdoor shower was perfect for washing the sand off after the beach and the shed had everything we needed for the beach (chairs, sand toys, snorkel gear). The location of this place was the BEST. Steps away from poipu beach which has an extremely baby friendly little cove, a park and sea turtles come up on the beach every night. We will definitely return with our little one again!!

There was a great supply of beach gear in the garage and every need was though of prior and already in the house. It was also nice to have AC in the bedrooms to cool things down at night. A perfect beach house!
We came here for our honeymoon after getting married on Maui and this little house was absolutely perfect. It was very clean and impeccably appointed with everything that we could ever need and then some. Our communication with the property owner was great. The location was perfect, walking distance to several food options and beaches. This little cottage was really right in the middle of everything happening in Poipu, but felt quiet and off the beaten path, just a tad. Everything there was very thoughtful, including extra beach towels, beach toys and even noise machines to help with the charming little chickens. We would not hesitate to stay here again. Absolutely perfect! Thank you so much for sharing your sweet little piece of paradise with us.

Awesome little house in Poipu
We absolutely loved staying at this house. The location can't be beat -- just down the road from the beach, but still a quiet neighborhood (if you don't count the chickens first thing in the morning!). A beautiful cottage and a great yard to relax in. It had all the amenities we needed, and we took advantage of the beach toys and snorkel equipment. The beds were very comfortable, and the AC units in the bedrooms allowed for a good night's sleep. This house was our first impression of south Kauai, and it couldn't have gone better. We can't wait to go back. I highly recommend it!

We absolutely loved our stay here! Proximity to the beach was fantastic, and some very fun nearby hiking trails available. The house itself is well appointed and very comfortable. So fun to see the turtles each evening and morning right down the street! Highly recommend this place!

Pam and Gabby were fantastic hosts. The property is clean and kept in excellent repair. We really enjoyed walking to the beach in the morning and in the evenings. If you are looking for a peaceful place to relax the cottage should be on your list.

Returning stay at beautiful cottage
Beautiful and comfortable cottage steps away from the Poipu beach, with well stocked kitchen to make meals for the family. The screened lanai is our favorite place to hangout providing cool breeze throughout the day. Outdoor shower is a big hit. The out house is stocked with boogie boards, beach umbrella, chairs and life jackets, with washer and dryer to wash our swimsuits and towels after a day at the beach. The only small issue encountered are ants coming from the sink in the kitchen. We were able to address it by keeping the counter clean and dry after each use. This is our returning stay to the property and would love to visit again!
